The Evermore pack has lived for years in peace. Secluded in the woods they have few predators other then bears or
the occasional threat of being trampled by an elk. A city full of humans lays a few miles away - just far enough
away to not be a bother yet close enough to be a food source in desperate times. Many recruits have been brought
in from the same city and while it can be used it is pack law to only venture there in hard times or when sent by
the alpha specifically to find new members.
Lately though.. things have gotten scary. Members that were once known for their happiness and joy have become
violent, rude, and generally self-centered. They show no signs of sickness, or illness. An abrupt personality change
is the only thing that sets the pack off and many are on their toes in weariness.
As it turns out, a new parasite has entered the Evermore pack. A parasite that wiggles it's way from the vertebrae
up to the skull. The tiny bug eats a way through the skull, a hole no bigger then a dime, and latches onto the brain,
taking over. The dogs that are infected are no longer their own, their thoughts are controlled by the parasite, the
words they speak and the things they do are all suddenly different. Occasional moments of clarity can overtake the
dogs, granting them just a few minutes of freedom. This freedom, however, is usually spent in a blur of confusion
and, "What's going on?" before they're taken over again.
Will the Evermore pack find the parasite or will they be overtaken? And if they find the parasite.. how will they cope?

alphas
the two most talented dogs within the Evermore pack, they're both intelligent and skilled. they are not required to be mated but instead very close friends and work extremely well together. if an alpha passes unexpectedly a new alpha is chosen by the two shaman. a strong relationship may not be immediate but it is expected and eventually grows. the two alphas share their own den where they can discuss things and speak in private when/if needed.
betas
the second in commands of the pack, they're skilled but not nearly as skilled as the two alphas. the betas are not expected to be as close as the alphas and some times the two don't get along at all. the male beta is a close friend of the male alpha while the female is a friend of the female alpha. the betas are always chosen by the alphas and lead the pack when the alphas are away. the betas sleep in the open with the ironteeth.
shamans
these two are generally older then the alphas though they are sometimes younger. the two shaman are very wise beyond their years. they know how to heal wounds and are usually not trained in fighting or hunting, saving any energy for mending. the two shaman are the only two allowed to visit the nearby city in search of healing ingredients or whatever else they may need. the two shaman usually get along very well as they spend a lot of time together. shaman are allowed mates.
shaman tenderpaws
the two shaman tenderpaw are those learning to become shamans once the two present shamans pass. they're under the age of two, so still pups, and have much to learn. the shaman tenderpaw share a den with the two shaman and venture to the city alongside the older dogs.
ironteeth
ironteeth are the most common pack members. they are in charge of hunting and defending the pack. ironteeth have no den and sleep where they please in the camp. they take direct orders from the betas for their day, unless sent to the city by an alpha. ironteeth are also in charge of training the tenderpaws. an irontooth is selected by a beta to train a specific tenderpaw for approval by the alphas.
tenderpaws
dogs under the age of two make up the tenderpaws. they are given an irontooth mentor by a beta when they reach the age of six months and seek an alpha's approval when they are two years. tenderpaws are usually tested in hunting and fighting before they can become an irontooth and be free from their trainer.
mothers
mothers are either carrying pups or have already had pups and are caring for them. mothers are restricted in their duties until their pups reach the age of six months and become tenderpaws.
elders
elders are above the age of ten years and aren't expected to perform any tasks for the pack. they are fed before anyone else and their wisdom is well respected.
