XXXXXPanther only waited and watched the other male dog as he spoke. He seemed very protective over the smaller three-legged female, standing in front of her and snarling at him. Panther only cocked his head slightly at his brave snarl then he nodded at the name of the island. While he had heard of the place, he hadn’t heard much and all he did hear was worried whispers from passing by other strays or small comments from snooty pets. Panther watched the dog approach and unlatch the cage. “Thanks,” he simply mumbled, not promising anything to some stranger.
XXXXXPanther was about to exit the cramped cage when the boat came to a stop at it’s destination - their new home. He lurched forward, hitting his head against the cage. A growling curse came out of his maw before he finally drug himself out of the annoying cage. Before doing or saying anything else, he pulled off the muzzle around his jaw using his paws. It pulled at the fur on his face but after a few moments of pulling it, he managed to slip out. Then he took a few steps towards the other two, Harley and Gaia if he recalled their names, and nodded once. “I’ll stay until we get out of here, then you won’t see me again. You both don’t have to worry about that.” He waited for Gaia to follow Harley first before leaving himself. The salty smell hit his scent glands and made him recoil, not use to the awful smell, though it was better than the smell downstairs.

XXXXXI’d love to join you!” Vixian said, the excitement still coursing through her bark, “whatever’s going on must be real important, it could be new dogs arriving I do see something out in the water.” The boats were honestly a mystery to her, they were just giant human things that transported dogs to the island. She placed herself beside the other female, fluffy tail wagging, and started walking when she did. A part of her knew that new dogs would not be great for the pack since food was scarce already but it did excite her to know that strangers, potential new friends, could be already waiting at the beach.
XXXXXVixian’s ears perked when Raven came closer and she let out a cheerful greeting of, “Morning Raven!” While she wanted to ask a million questions, she instead quieted and let the alpha speak. Once Raven was done speaking, she nodded vigorously and watched the alpha walk away. “Yes, we should!” She followed the short distance towards the Lead Scavengers, but like Leilani, she kept her eyes on the boat. It was Leilani who spoke first but Vixian continued after, saying exactly what Raven said, “She said that you would fill us in and we should hold our ground against anyone that may come off that boat.

☣ The Subordinate Siblngs {3} ☣

Postby nocturna. » Thu Jul 06, 2017 5:33 am

      () LYLA
    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
    ( scent: spring rain ) ( age: 3 years ) ( rank: subordinate ) ( location: beach --> jail ) ( mood: curious / surprised ) ( tagged: raven )
    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
    - - - -The Karelian Bear Dog fae stared up in awe at the large boat. It was dingy, and worn down with rusty metal sides and old wooden accents. The sight of it made Lyla's skin crawl as her own memories aboard the ship came back. The fae was so enthralled with the sight of the arriving ship, she didn't even notice Raven approach. The Alpha fae bumped shoulders with herself, causing Lyla to blink franticly and spin her head in the direction of Raven. She was quite surprised to see that Raven had gotten so close. Perhaps they were both out of it due to the ship's untimely arrival. Lyla dipped her head, accepting her Alpha's apology. The larger fae seemed a bit more stoic than usual. But how could she not? The arrival of the ship created large amounts of stress to the pack and mostly, Raven. Lyla couldn't imagine the burden of that and she looked up to her Alpha, greatly respecting her.

    - - - -Lyla quickly got to her feet and turned away from the sight of the ship, glad she wouldn't have to look at it much longer. She shot her brother a neutral look and then quietly padded after Raven, following her somewhat closely. The black and white fae's mind began to wander to the boat again. She couldn't help herself. The idea of more dogs was both exciting and unnerving to Lyla. What if they were friendly? What if they weren't...? How many would there be this time? Would they be strong enough to survive Raven's trials? It often pained her heart to see dogs that didn't make it through the trials. But it was their world now. If you couldn't provide or weren't strong enough... you wouldn't survive.

    - - - -Uncharacteristically, Lyla remained silent as the three returned to the run down jailhouse; lost in her own thoughts. It wasn't until they all had entered the space that her mind couldn't take it any longer. "Do you know how many dogs are arriving??" She asked as she quickly padded after Raven, her tail wagging excitedly. "When will the trials start???" Lyla could hardly contain her excitement as she sat before the Alpha fae, her tail still wagging and deep amber hues beaming.

      (۞) LUKA
    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
    ( scent: spruce & earth ) ( age: 4 years ) ( rank: subordinate ) ( location: beach --> jail ) ( mood: concerned ) ( tagged: raven )
    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
    - - - -The black and white brute grumbled under his breath as he finally caught up with his younger, overenthusiastic sister. She was sitting in the light colored sand, staring off into the distance. Luka somewhat angrily marched over to her, looking her over. He huffed as she didn't acknowledge his presence, annoyed at this early act of pup-ish behavior. It was then that his well trained ears pricked into the direction of her sight. Voices. Some excited, some worried and the stern voice of their Alphess became clearer. Luka then turned his own gaze inline with that of Lyla's. A boat. That's what had everyone so worked up. But he'd have to admit, the boat started to make his own heart quicken. They were already somewhat rationing the food caught. How would the prospect of more dogs work into the current situation..?

    - - - -The idea of more dogs did not make Luka happy. His brow furrowed as he stared at the large marine beast. He just prayed that there weren't many on this trip. Maybe, or even better, hopefully they wouldn't even survive the trails. A grim thought, but he had to look after his and his sister's interests first. The pair had come too far to die of starvation on the little island. If necessary, Luka would fight to prove his place within the pack and for the right to live.

    - - - -A moment later, Luka gaze snapped back to near Lyla. Raven had made her way towards them without the pair realizing. The Alphess apologized to Lyla, and further instructing them to accompany her back to the jail. Luka's Amber hues traced over Raven's face. She seemed worried, and he didn't blame her. After she spoke her piece, the two caught each other's gaze. Raven's seemed to linger, and Luka wasn't sure as to why. His own continued to follow Raven after she turned to lead the siblings back to the jail. His brow raised, curious as he stood there for a moment longer than the two faes. With a heavy exhale, he also turned and padded off after them. Luka quietly copied his younger sister, following Raven closely; for he hoped that this was his opportunity to speak with her about the rationing for winter. But before Luka could even muster the words, Lyla piped up with her excited questions. The larger brute swiftly shot her a stern gaze, as if to tell her to not bother the Alphess. "Shush." Luka softly commanded his sister as his amber orbs drifted back to Raven. Though, there was some validity to her questions, and he too was curious on the matter.

      Raven's dark black claws clicked against the old flooring of the dining hall, her tail sweeping up dirt and dust. Whatever the dogs brought in with their fur and prey. What was left of the already caught food sat on the linen pile as voices picked up in the room. Her ears perked up but she didn't say anything at first, but instead, she listened silently. Her canines snagged an old rag on the ground, flicking toward the pile before giving the siblings her full attention. She took a mental note of Lyla's excitement as well as Luka's irritation but curious look in his eye. "Luka I will not snap at your sister for having excitement, do not shut her down," The alpha scolded while raising an eyebrow in question to see if he were to disobey or argue. He's always trying to get his sister to be quiet around her or in certain situations. It wasn't necessary every time they spoke together or something important was going on. After a moment or two, she finally turned her head toward the smaller female.
      "That I don't know for sure, but the hunting trials should start sometime after we figure out who they are," Raven's voice came out slightly softer than when she spoke to Luka, turning her head to look around the room. The building was obviously large enough for newcomers, but the food income. That was something entirely different. It's already tough finding food now. In a few months, it could almost be impossible. Sure the ocean never freezes, but there won't be an as plentiful amount of fish. Whatever little critters that made their way onto the island will go into hibernation. The birds already have or most of them have migrated for warmer weather.

      Her amber gaze studied the two subordinates in front of her, coming up with some sort of plan on how things would go. The humans wouldn't send a boat for one dog, there has to be multiple. Maybe six at most. "Luka, depending on how many show up, will you tag along in Watsky's hunting group? Lyla would you go with Avalon's as well? If there are more than two then I'll take a group myself," She asked the two black and white dogs after making sure everything was in order. She wasn't just separating the two because of their skill sets. She was separating the two to let them breathe without having to worry one another. They're always together and could use some sort of time apart. Especially Lyla. She's usually shadowed by her brother from what she has seen.

      Harley gave a curt nod to the male that he'd just let out of his tiny compartment, acknowledging the fact that he didn't offer his name nor agree to not cause any harm. But rather than comment on it, he simply turned his attention back to the three-legged female who cautiously looked between the two females. "He's not gonna hurt you, love, just follow me," He spoke in a voice just louder than a murmur before stepping aside to let the female through the door and away from the fishy smell. His body held the door open for Panther to make his way through as well before taking the lead to make it to the front of the boat. The waves pushed against the sand, leaving it much darker than before. Chocolate searched the land before him for a few moments, taking in all it had to offer.
      A tall yet falling apart building that apparently used to be a prison according to some pampered canines he had run into on the street before being caught Well more like the girls trying to leave with him from a 'dog park' while their owners called out after them. He was quite a trouble maker wasn't he? But this would be entirely different. The entire atmosphere of the island was completely different. On the land below them appeared to be four dogs. All different breeds and completely different looks. It was unknown as to who was who, but there was a rather pretty looking dog already catching the Belgian malonic' eyes.

      Harley gave the two dogs a quick glance over before making his way down the small ramp that just slid off the boat when it hit land. His paw steps were careful in an attempt to not make a fool of himself in front of all of these other dogs while taking periodic glances at Gaia, worried if she might slip. He may be a ladies man and all, but his protective and caring feelings are all genuine. But he made his way down with ease, slowly approaching the dogs waiting for them. He kept his distance, maybe two yards from the dogs and a yard from the boat. The anxiety was already working its way from his belly to his throat, but the canine was determined to not lose his cool. "Lovely morning today isn't it?" Harley calmly asked while scanning his eyes across the four dogs. Though once his eyes landed on Lelani, he couldn't help but give her a quick wink before turning his attention to the male of the group. Being this close, he could tell who was who now. Obviously not with names, but that'll all come in due time.
      "I suppose you're here to bring us to your King?" The male asked with an eyebrow slightly raised while scanning their facial expressions. Two out of the three females looked roughly excited while the other two of the four dogs looked rather anxious. What was to be worried about? Maybe they were worried about crazy cannibals as the actual land dogs were worried about them. Who knows what they could be possibly afraid of at a time like this. As long as it didn't involve killing anybody, he shouldn't have to worry as much.

        xxxxxThe fae padded to the Lead Scavengers, keeping a careful eye on each of them and the boat in between. "Good morning, Watsky, hello there Avalon," She spoke with a light smile, ears perked up with curiosity. "Raven sent us."

        The pretty, blue Merle Border Collie watched as the boat had finally reached the shallow waters, bringing the tide along with it as it had stopped. This boat looks sorta familiar, thought Leilani, her head tilting to the side as her dark chocolate colored eyes flickered with curiosity. The speckled fae's ears perked forward when she heard the voices of other dogs, watching them travel from the bridge to the rocky sand. She caught sight of a rather handsome brute with fur tanned and body tall, and looked away awkwardly from him as he winked. "Quite lovely," Leilani woofed gently with a warm smile, "I'm Leilani, and no, we don't have a King- if anything, Raven's closer to a Queen, she's our Alpha."

    Watsky

    [ male ] [ five.five years ] [ lead scavenger ] [ tagged with -- Beach dogs] [ on the beach ]

    The boat was getting closer and closer as Watsky watched. Who knew what was going to come off of it? Some kind of rabid mastiff? There was no telling until those dogs came trotting down that ramp. But, as the old saying goes, they'd cross that bridge when they came to it. He looked over as a soft voice reached his ears with a greeting, "mornin' Leilani," he smiled. He'd gotten past the butterflies stage and admitted the fact that he was, without a doubt, smitten with her. But this was hardly the time to be flirting and he was hardly breve enough to try under the best of circumstances.
    Watsky watched as the boat came to a halt, a sigh escaping from his muzzle as his anticipation came to a head. He watched as a
    slender, brown male trotted down the ramp. He certainly wasn't rabid but he did seem a bit annoyingly over confident. Oh well, he'd get used to it. Watsky wasn't sure if he was facetious when he asked how the day had been, but before he could give it much thought, Leilani gave a kind reply. "Though you are correct," he added, "our alpha has requested to meet with each of the new comers." He looked back towards the building, why didn't Raven just stay on the beach if she wanted to meet them right away? Well-whatever, she was the alpha and that was all that needed to be said on the matter. "I'm Watsky, by the way, and you are...?"

    Gaia

    [ female ] [ four years ] [ newcomer ] [ tagged with -- Harley, beach dogs] [ on the ramp/beach ]

    Gaia whimpered but Harley's smooth voice and calming words were enough to stop her shaking. She was watching her back as she followed Harley to the deck of the boat, half afraid that the male he'd freed would attack them from behind. The ramp felt like a walk to hell, strange new dogs on the beach. She wanted to run and would've if she was alone but-Harley. She felt more safe with him than anywhere else. She was trying to send him psychic messages, pleading with him to run so that she would have reason to follow his lead. He didn't. Instead she was forced to walk down, the sand of the beach grasped at her paws as she stepped towards the edge of the water.
    Everything inside her was pulling at her, mind and instinct battling one another for what to do. There were too many to fight and not far enough to run, she couldn't do anything. The struggle between running and staying rendered her legs useless and she stood awkwardly, half on the ramp and half on the beach watching Harley and the others intently for every movement.
