{ Once upon a time somebody ran
....Somebody ran away saying fast as I can
....I've got to go, I've got to go!!!
....Once upon a time we fell apart
....You're holding in your hands
....The two halves of my heart.
....Once upon a time, we burned bright
....Now all we ever seem to do is fight
....On and on...
....And on and on and on...
....Once upon a time on the same side
....Once upon a time on the same side
....In the same game
....And why'd you have to go,
....Have to go and throw water on my flame.
....I could've been a Princess
....You'd be a King
....Could've had a castle
....And worn a ring
....But no
....You let me go.

- { Years and years ago, this land used to be inhabited by a large kingdom ....that spread for many miles in all directions. In its center on a hill, there was a magnificent castle in which the King and Queen lived. Throughout history, it was not uncommon for royalty to own dogs or horses, and this kingdom cherished dogs so much they almost treated them as equals, giving them jobs to help them around. They lived in harmony for many years, and definitely attracted attention, but that is not where the problem of the story lies. Being a impressive kingdom came with its risks of an attack, and one day one was launched. It was a horrific disaster, every single house was roaring in flames, all the villagers either got killed or fled. The King and Queen had been the main targets and did not survive. Back then, all the buildings apart from the castle were built of wood, so there was nothing left apart from its ruins.
And the dogs. Most of the dogs did not flee far, and returned to the only home they knew. They set up a small pack which over generations grew in numbers to the point it was one of the largest packs in existence. Lush forests slowly replaced what once was the spectacular kingdom, and only the castle ruins were still standing. It seemed nothing could ever go wrong as the area was forgotten about, until just a few months ago. How or who is a mystery, but someone found out about the history of the old fallen kingdom, and wanted to explore with a group of buddies. Once they finally discovered the castle, they found the massive wild dog pack. The animals meant no harm, but apparently the humans decided it was time to take over what was their rightful homeland for hundreds of generations. For the next couple weeks, there was a constant battle between the humans and the canines.
In the end, the dogs had won as the humans gave up and retreated. The giant pack had suffered great losses, however. Any weak, sick, elderly or pups and adolescents under 2 years of age had been killed, as well as many other great dogs. The Alphas, the King and Queen of the pack, had not lived either. Everyone has lost someone. Now the Prince has the duty of taking over the pack, although he is far from prepared and is suffering from the loss of his parents, packmates and even mate. It's been a couple months now, and though it is still fresh the now small pack have no choice but to move on. They need to work on a new future generation, however there are no original mated pairs left, so they will need to form new bonds. What will happen to the shattered pack?
* This is a remake of my old roleplay which never began a year back,
except the idea of wolves has been replaced by dogs.
