oakclan is a group of cats who live deep within the oak forest, located in england. oakclan cats range in fur color, length and skills, which make them very unique. they even have different ranks. however, oakclan was never like this. old stories tell that oakclan is a very distant relative from one of the original clans; shadowclan. of course, these clans are gone now. however, oakclan has stayed true to their roots, and used to have a home within the marshes. this was generations ago, however it is still a very important part of oakclans history.

oakclan used to live in a salt marsh. however, salt marshes have been declining in the many years the cats were there. the main cause of the declining territory was enclosure, which removes the habitat from tidal inundation. while humans were making the area smaller by building walls to keep the oceans out, oakclan were sheltered from the flooding. because of this, they were in an area called a coastal grazing marsh, which was rarely touched. however, infilling for ports and harbours often caused problems with the streams and water running throughout the territory. oil and pollution flooded the waters, thus poisoning it.

after the territory became too dangerous, they moved on. and now, generations later, they are stronger than ever within the oak forest. they created new ranks, which keeps the family blood in the higher ranks. in the oak forest, however, things seem to be taking a turn for the worst. many natural causes are causing decimation of oak trees, and drama is unfolding within the clan. will they be able to handle it all or will they fall under the stress?
