❖ Mack nodded and sighed softly. "Good. I do not know if I will be asked to patrol either. I don't think so." She replied. 'They're so darn unorganized. No one knows what to do.' She thought in her head with a snarl and shook her head to clear the thoughts. McKenna watched the camp as it came alive. Granted it came alive with wolves she grew to hate since the death of Echo but still some days she enjoyed some of her pack. Not many and not often but there were those few wolves she enjoyed spending time with. A soft yawn escaped her muzzle as she looked to Apollo, impatiently waiting for him to announce who he would be taking on patrol. She cast her eyes first up to Bates, she admired him but she didn't exactly trust him? She trusted him to be her brute force in the plans she had. He was useful for those things. But, he's so cold. So authoritive. She didn’t like authority and she also knew that Bates would make a vicious alpha. She decided long ago to not get on his bad side. While she was cunning and smart that wouldn't get her anywhere without someone to back her up with what she needed and while Bates was essential he wouldn't suffice as the only wolf on her side. She didn't know where anyone else's loyalties lied though. One of the many things she needed to speak with Bates about. Her eyes carried on to the sky and Mack shuddered. Winter. She was more fond of Autumn, Winter got a little too cold some days. But it also had it's perks. The slightly indecisive she-wolf rolled her eyes to herself and pulled herself back to earth. 'Where is Namara?' She wondered.

The lithe female was growing quite bored of just watching the pack do their own things. She listened in on a few conversations, but the most interesting ones were just of the leaders organizing hunting or paroling groups to go with them to venture out through the territory. Sure, Nam would go with them if she were asked to, but she wasn't. And for some reason, she didn't like that. Why, Namara had to be asked to join the groups! No one could simply leave her out of such important duties. Hmph, the ignorance she got from her pack-mates irked her. Maybe she would go with the paroling group just to go, ignoring the fact that no one invited her. Or maybe she wouldn't. It was their loss, really. Nam was a fighter, for lupus' sake! She was capable of handling herself and tough situations and she might just go with them, whether they liked it or not.
The female swished her tail in the grass, giving her soft chest a few brief licks before rising to her paws. She looked around at all the busy wolves and sneered, shrugging a shoulder before striding across the camp in search of something to do. Just then, a chilled breeze wove through her coat, causing the female to shiver. She looked up to the grey clouded sky and narrowed her eyes. Winter. Nam was so lost in her thoughts that she hadn't realized until just now that the weather had dramatically changed since the passed couple of days. Nam wasn't fond of winter. There was too much cold, wind, snow. Not enough food and comfort. However, she did get her winter coat. She loved her winter coat. It was thick, dense, very warm, silky, soft, still sleek and absolutely beautiful. In fact, her coat for each season was so.
The fae kicked a stone across the ground, grunting at the idea of winter. Just then, she caught sight of her beloved sister. She loved her little sister so much, and she was easily the only wolf in the pack that Namara had a positive mindset for. Aside from Adrian, of course. Those two have been two peas in a pod since they were pups. Namara grinned, stalking up behind her sister. She wiggled her rear end playfully, before pouncing onto her and tachling, the two rolling over. "Gotcha!" She barked playfully, batting at her face with her paws a few times before leaping off her sister and wagging her tail like mad.
est-ce qu'on peut réparer tout ce qui s'est passé entre nous? est-ce qu'on peut se pardonner?

the small meeting talisa had called brought clarity towards the next stages of their lives. the wolf sat pensively as the alpha spoke of her plans. after sloan had been declared the new lead hunter, conan was relieved. the last thing he wanted to do was take charge and engage in any more interactions than necessary. conan was a loner, that much was very clear. however he liked to simply observe, listen from afar. therefore he could gather the same amount of information without all of the unnecessary formalities. not long after, his eyes followed sloan as she grew nearer. when she had informed him that he and elijah would be accompanying her on the hunting trip, he simply nodded. he wasn't all too surprised that they had been chosen. elijah might be young, but he was an excellent hunter, as was he. conan departed from the rest of the pack to spend a little bit of time in solitude before the trip. three hunters were certainly not enough but the risks were too high to send any more.

dakota looked up towards the sky. it was still morning and the air was brisk, nipping at her nose. she still had the whole day to search for prey but the longer she waited, the more likely she would encounter a wolf or two. it wouldn't be an ideal plan as her last meal was a couple of days ago, but dakota felt that she could take care of any trouble that might arise. hopefully her scent on most of the trees around would be a deterrent to any wolf. if not, she would just have to show them who the alpha is. nonetheless, dakota continued her search to find food. thankfully, her determination paid off soon when she found a rodent with a gimpy leg. it certainly couldn't outrun the fae and she wolfed it down quickly. it wasn't much, but it was enough to satisfy her stomach temporarily.

Even so, Apollo didnt allow himself to put all of his hopes on the male. He couldnt. What if his bet would cost a life ? Or, in a worst case scenario, two lives ?
Sighing, the beta pointed his muzzle towards the sky again.
It would be a pity if something were to disturb this beautiful day. He hoped that the brute knew the undertone which Apollo was hinting at - that the link between this and what Talisa spoke of moments before, would form in his mind. At times like these, its a shame we have nobody to guard the sky. Apollo was speaking in riddles. He knew that. But stating things openly was dangerous, especially during times like these where nobody knew where loyalties lay.
Was this enough ? Would Comet understand what Apollo was asking without him stating it ?

ELIJAH - male - 1 year old - hunter - camp ~ Dinara, Sloan
As Sloan approached him and Dinara, he slightly dipped his head, greeting the new lead huntress. The pale she-wolf didn't waste any time with formalities and got straight to the point. Elijah nodded, happy with her choices. "Between the three of us I'm sure we will be able to bring something back to camp." he said, knowing that the hunt ahead wont be the fastest or the easiest. He still didn't feel good about just three wolfs going out hunting for the whole pack, but he felt that Sloan picked the best team for the task. Elijah liked Conan, he was a loner, a bit like himself. But Elijah would dare say Conan might be a bit worse than him when it came to being social. Sloan, Conan and himself seemed like a really good combination. They would get right to the task at hand and they were all great hunters. Despite all of them being a bit quiet Elijah enjoyed the hunts he had with the two till now, clear instructions, good teamwork, efficient work. They might not have been the most social wolfs within the pack but during hunting their communication was excellent. "I'm ready whenever you are." he said with a tail wag, approving her pick of the group and getting a bit excited to go. Despite knowing that this hunt will probably make his paws sore tomorrow and get him back to camp completely exhausted after who knows how long, he wanted to see how well he can do with such a small group of wolfs hunting large prey. He knew this was an opportunity to see what he is capable of and what flaws he would need to work on. It will be good for gaining more experience.he thought. As a young wolf, this was still his first winter and getting practice to hunt in the snow was essential for future season and his place in the pack.

BATES - male - 5 years old - fighter - camp ~ McKenna, Namara
Bates nodded. Well maybe Apollo will make up his mind soon," said the brute. He watched Apollo for one more moment, he seemed tense, not really comfortable with the wolfs. He probably has no idea who he can trust. A smile appeared on Bates face, he like that thought, he liked that the beta wasn't sure of his own wolfs and it wasn't like he could go around and ask all the wolfs what they thought about Talisa and the attack. The fact that Apollo was so loyal to the she wolf left a foul taste in Bates mouth, but this... this could be good, this could create an opening. Bates was sure that neater Talisa nor Apollo were sure what wolf they could count on, after all the killers were walking right past there noses. Sure there were a lot of wolfs that Bates wasn't sure about too, but this made him feel like he was still a paw ahead.

Bates ear twitched and he looked away and back at McKenna who was ambushed by her sister Namara. "There she is." he answered the obvious question in a plain and a hint of a playful tone. He shook his neck and lied back on the cold ground. "Hello Namara. he greeted the female and observed the two.

❖ Be careful what you wish for. She'd heard the saying numerous time and never really took it to heart. Did she now? Maybe a little. When Namara barreled into McKenna she yelped as the two tumbled over the ground. "Okay, first I can't find you and then you attack me out of no where!" Mack barked and nipped playfully at her older sister, when she finally allowed her back up McKenna shook her pelt to be free of debris and took a seat again, this time in front of Bates. "Good Morning, Nam." She smiled and wagged her tail softly. It wasn't often McKenna's young age was made obvious by her actions but it seemed Namara always brought out her inner pup. While she found it completely necessary to remain professional with Bates she found no need to do the same with Namara. Sometimes she surprised herself. She doesn't intentionally act like an old, high and mighty wolf but she does. She enjoys playing but she feels as though there is a place and time for such things and it isn't all the time or anywhere.

☄ Comet // Male // 6 years // No crush // Tagged: Apollo

Comet shook his fur lightly and scanned the pack area briefly, before focusing back onto the beta. He was still curious why Apollo initiated the contact, thinking that it had to do something with Kiba and Talisa.

The omega listened, taking in the riddle, repeating it in his head, and then looking back up at the sky. Apollo must be worried for a possible attack on the alpha and her pup. Comet was too, though he didn't really show it. He didn't believe that openly showing his worries was going to help the pack at all. Or himself. After all, there were still 'enemies' around who could pick up on it and cause a scene. Comet didn't want that. He wanted peace, even though he knew the pack currently was far from peaceful.

So he unraveled the riddle, figuring out that Apollo must be trying to tell him that he should guard over the sky, the alpha and her pup. That was his conclusion after a few minutes of silence and repeating the riddle, thinking, and repeating the words again.

"I will guard the sky with all I have," the omega stated, turning his muzzle from the sky to the higher ranked wolf. "After all, if nobody does, then who will?" He smiled, a timid smile, ears pulled back a little. He would guard the sky, as Apollo intended. That's what he hoped.
name's alec. legally an adult and thus paying bills. they/them or he/him pronouns have my preference.

» Apollo flicked his ears as the silence between the two wolves dragged on. Anxiety and worry began prickling his chest, worried that the riddle was too ambiguous, too open.
Yet once Comet vowed to protect the sky, the male released the breath he didn't know he was holding. This was good. It had to be.
Indeed. Not many would. He returned a small smile to the brute before lifting his gaze back towards the sky, taking in a deep breath of the surrounding cool air. Would this change anything ? Apollo wondered. A part of him hoped that it would, that it would show the strength and knowledge of the alpha's supporters. Yet, he also hoped that it wouldn't come to it. That he'd be present if anything were to occur.
Well, Apollo started, getting up whilst letting his gaze fall back onto the male. There's a patrol to take out. The brute was ready to go and claim the wolves he'd take out - but before doing so he fell back onto his paws again, dropping his gaze onto the ground. Thank you, Comet. As soon as the words were out, Apollo took off to claim the wolves.
He stood in front of the rock that Talisa was on moments before. The beta didn't bother barking or howling to bring attention to himself, relying on his volume of voice to be enough.
The border patrol will set out now. He started, looking from face to face. Ki, Namara, Bates and McKenna will set out with me. Then without thought he padded to the camp's exit, turning to wait for those he called for.
