A small town with no more then three thousand humans sits near the edge of a feared forest they call Ebonwood. It wasn't always a scary place, it used to be a go-to area when you wanted a break from life and an area where relaxation was optimal. The first dog, Cain, turned the forest around. Cain was abandoned within Ebonwood's depths because the dog's owner assumed he'd find a home quickly in the woods. How wrong that human was. Cain quickly found strays and formed a pack and within a weeks time Ebonwood was collecting victims. The humans no longer visit the once peaceful woods, they've sent in nearly fifty dog catchers to no avail, they'd rather just live without thinking about the pack of dogs that'll quickly and easily attack people. Cain is long gone but Ebonwood's vicious past lives on. Some believe it's time to put Cain's life behind them.. many disagree. Do you live by Cain's code? Or are you more willing to take steps toward the future?

Dakota
shaman ➸ four years ➸ location ; camp ➸ mentions ; bane, sebastian ➸ tags ; --
Dakota woke for one reason; she was bored. Her dreams held nothing of interest, in fact she wasn't really sure she even had a dream.. she remembered.. uh.. nothing, actually. So it was that the mutt Shaman's eyes blinked open to the sun just beginning to arise over the dead tree tops. Ebonwood had been dead for as long as she could remember and that was her entire four years of life. The trees were grey and crumbling providing not much, if any, life within them. Dakota, Bane, and the pup Sebastian were forced to frequent the town nearby to stock the level of remedies and such that they had. They kept human made bandages to wrap legs, petroleum (though the dogs just called it 'goo') to cut off open wounds, and other human invented items. Luckily Bane and Dakota's jobs were simple enough and usually consisted of nothing more then pulling thorns out of pads.
With a deep sigh the husky/chow mix rolled onto her back, legs splayed to the sun. The strange female wiggled in the dirt, itching at her back with the soft dirt and fallen leafs. She wondered just how long she'd have to sit around waiting until someone woke.. Her eyes caught Jager, the german pointer but the Shaman knew better then to mess with that one; he had a tendency to be a grouch. Dakota wasn't fond of aggressive dogs. Dakota finally stopped wiggling, tongue lolling out her jaws as she laid upside down, watching Bane's usually sleeping spot.
"Wake up," she whispered to herself, "itch, itch, bees are gonna get you. The humans are awake, I bet. The flowers are singing, wake up." Dakota mumbled to herself, content to do nothing more then listen to her own voice until her other Shaman half was awake.
Jager
fighter ➸ three years ➸ location ; camp ➸ mentors ; jasmine ➸ mentions ; capo, alfarin ➸ tags ; jasmine
Jager's dreams were full of turmoil; the humans smacking him, sleeping in the rain and Quiver's massive snarling mouth. Jager's legs kicked out in the dirt, he whined lightly and a small snarl pulled his lips up and then down and then back up again. The pointer had always been plagued by these dreams though he'd never talk about them; the pack just knew that the brute was always fighting his nightmares. The morning started the same as the others - Jager jumped out of his dream and quickly found himself on his paws, gazing around with a snarl on his lips, heart beat racing. Within a few quick seconds the fighter realized where he was and calmed himself, taking up his usual cold expression.
Jager was known for keeping to himself and he loved to do nothing more then that.. but recently he'd received a pup. Jasmine was his duty to train and ensure that the fae was properly able to care for herself. Jasmine was a small thing and as much as Jager wished her the best he couldn't stand training. Jager simply didn't make a good teacher.. he was too abrasive, stand-offish, and apathetic. When Jasmine did good she got no gold star from Jager.. she usual didn't even receive a nod but Jager had been working on that. He knew he had to get.. nicer? Just the thought made Jager shiver.
"Ugh." the brute groaned as he looked around camp for Jasmine.
Finding her form he trotted over toward her, unsure if she was still asleep or simply laying down still, "Jasmine." Jager sat down nearby after making his presence known without uttering another word.
The brute's mind meandered to Alfarin and Capo, pondering what they'd have planned for today.. Jager usually didn't care; someone would eventually find him with news of what he was to do.. For now, the fighter focused on his primary duty - Jasmine.

phabien
rank;; fighter ❤ age;; four years ❤ location;; camp ❤ tags;; n/a
Phabien had been up for what felt like hours upon hours, the early morning dragging on as he waiting for everyone else to wake up. Already he'd explored the woods near by, hunted some birds to no avail and rolled in various scents that now mingled together in a slightly unpleasant odor. He was just about to try and throw a stick for himself to fetch when he herd some stirring, yawning.
finally...
He thought trotting back to the rest of the pack with an excited jump in his step. Everything in the world seemed right, the birds were singing, the bees were buzzing, and all of a sudden Phabien had the sudden feeling that he had forgotten something he was supposed to do. He stopped, trying to remember but it had completely escaped him.
well i'm sure someone will remind me when i get back.
He though to himself cheerfully as he reached the place where the others slept.

↷ male ↷ beagle/greyhound ↷ six months ↷ shaman pup ↷ loc :: camp ↷ trained by :: bane, Dakota ↷ tagged :: dakota
The young pups dreams were filled with a peaceful setting; bounding through tall golden grass with the wind on his fur; endless territory to explore; new scents and fresh herbs; no humans or any enemies, just....he couldn't find words. Paradise, is what he settled on in his snooze. Sebastian's dream, however, lasted no more than a few minutes to him as he struggled to stay asleep as the stirring of his packmates and quiet chatter started to awake him. Father Time and Mother Earth don't like to be late, and so, reluctantly, the Shaman Pup awoke.
Rats, the young pup thought. I rather liked that dream. Dismissing things quickly and expertly was something he knew how to do swiftly, so he shoved it off and looked around his area. Many of the pack's dogs were still resting, few were up and about, and some were just waking up like he was. Sebastian's brown eyes surveyed the Shaman's area, and saw that Bane was still asleep, and Dakota was laying on her back, muttering something about bees and waking up. His mentor was an odd one, but a good type of odd.
"Hello, Dakota," the beagle and greyhound mix spoke to the other. "Sleep well?" Sebastian would normally ask such questions when the day started, it built a certain connection between his packmates and elders. It was a pleasant bond though.
