orchidnose"Oh, Tośka." she meowed. Orchidstar would miss her friend: mother of Tigerpaw. "Our forests are dense and wild. I must pay back for your company. The patrol I have prepared just before will accompany her to the border." Goldenpaw, Quailcloud, Reedpaw, Firestep and Autumnheart. "I suppose our new apprentice, Moonpaw, can also come alongside all of you." Orchidstar turned away, not wanting to see Tigerpaw cry. He was strong, and seeing something so strong break apart before your eyes for the second time in a day.. almost tore at her heartstrings, for her tears were bleaker than mud.

orchidnose"I must.. speak to you, Bumblebee." Orchidstar's face widened, as she stepped down to him. "Bumblebee," she breathes, drawing towards the new deputy. "I need to talk to you about important matters." She points her tail to the outskirts of the Mystic Showers, beckoning for him to come. The pair walk to the slouchy mudslide on the hill connecting the camp road to the Sunny Shore."As my deputy, and hopefully last.." she meowed seriously, breaking the silence as the bushes were thick enough that none would think to follow. "I must tell you what I have told M-" she cut herself off, as if someone had clawed her eyes out. As if she made a huge mistake.. as if she regretted it all. "-my previous deputies," she reassured. "There's a rule, set by Chivestar himself." Orchidstar meowed, pawing the ground as if to say that that leader, the same one who almost killed all of SierraClan.. was her hero. The sleek molly still pushed the both of them forward, down the hill. Her destination was the so-called Valley of Echoes: a valley only in name, but a beautiful stargazing low-cliff, where the bright artificial lights of the city of Twolegs couldn't reach. She didn't speak until she descended fully, on the bottom of the hill. "Do you know why I chose you?" she meowed, eyes bleary. "No, of course not- because you think of him as an evil.." she closed her eyes, sighing deeply as if in pity for her new deputy. "I was afraid, that.." ...! Orchidstar's face whipped around, facing towards the countless starry lights in the sky.

Ω He whipped over to what felt like a sarcastic tone and growled at the she-cat " 'Is it because she's leaving?' Great use of a sweet tone for my MOTHER leaving! You're a great help aren't you?! Of course that's why! You have no idea what this is like, I just want to be with ma!" he cried and tried to run to her before a patrol gathered around her to lead her down. His eyes widened and his eyes glistened to the point where tears actually started rolling down his cheek fur, "MAMMA! PLEASE! DO-o-on't leave me... PLEASE! WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS! YOU'RE JUST GOING TO LEAVE ME ALONE?!" he screamed with his voice cracking and fell on his side, crying and he saw the last of his mother's fur. After a bit he got up and sniffed, he had enough, he felt he wasn't going to live here well without his mum, he couldn't, all this for nothing. He whimpered and ran out of camp in the opposite direction of where his mother left. He would find her as he would be in the forest, he'd bump into her and he'd see her again. He has to.

Tosia's heart and lungs were being suffocated by her son's screams, but she had to go on, she felt him running to her until the patrol came to her, head head semi-high up and her eyes watering, she started to leave the camp. This was best for him, he would know the wonders of the wild and climbing trees and feeling fresh prey. She breathed heavily in the thought of what trauma this could do, but she had to move on, otherwise it would be much, much worse.

☁ His eyes dulled as he watched the kit in pain, he knew he could not help but only watch, he saw the tears, and anger when he left, but he understood it, he had to calm down, and only then could he be spoken to. He felt pity for the tom, he lost his mother who said she'd stand by him, when left, it would have felt like she was a traitor to him like abondonment. He just sat on the edge of the clearing and looked up to the stars, wondering if they were watching.

quailcloud turned around as moonpaw bounced up towards her. "hey quailcloud, and you bring me around the territory?" moonpaw asked her. the she-cat purred little, nodding. "of course, moonpaw." she quickly shot a soft smile towards the apprentice. "okay, come on." she beckoned the apprentice.

the warrior halted. she could see water, and a few rocks. "moonpaw," she started. "this is the sunny pools. also, this is a good place for hunting and relaxing here." she meowed. it was a pretty beautiful. "just watch out for a few predators, though." it took a few heartbeats to get quailcloud to continue moving. as they started to move, quailcloud continued talking. "we may not be able to look at evrything, though." a little sadness swelled up in her.

xxxdid her best not to scream in fury at the white pelted she-cat who was leaving her son. How could she do such a thing, leaving Tigerpaw on his side just wailing for his mother. She knew what it was like to lose loved ones and she wasn't going to let her friend be alone in a time like this. Seedpaw picked herself off the ground and darted to Tigerpaw's side, only to narrowly miss him as he ran out of the camp. Her eyes widened, shocked at the actions of the sobbing tom cat. However, this didn't delay her from shifting back on her legs before springing into a sprint after Tigerpaw. It wasn't hard to track down a sniffling cat, bits of dark fur catching wind and landing right on Seedpaw's nose. She eventually found him and it took a great burst of energy to cut him off and spring onto him in order to knock him over. Seedpaw used the delay in his actions to pin him down, only long enough to yelp:
xxx"Stop! Tigerpaw, stop running!" then, Seedpaw stepped off of him and continued speaking whilst panting from her newfound exhaustion, "I know it's hard to see her leave, believe me I know. But she'll be okay, and you'll be okay, even if you are no longer together. Please, Tigerpaw, you'll be alright and you'll manage well. I-I'll be there, I'll be here for you. Just stay in SierraClan, please don't run off. You'll make it through this, and you won't have to do it alone."

There was nothing better to lift one's spirits than an apprentice or warrior ceremony. It was such a proud moment for every cat in the clan. It was an action in which stressed the growth of the clan, added strength to the clan, pride of the new or relieved mentor, pride of the new apprentice or warrior, and leader for seeing another one pass the barrier of ranks. Despite it not being her kit, she was proud of the new apprentices as they listened to the traditional words of the leader, spoken for generations. Mind wandering, Ebonyfrost pondered the idea of how these formal words came to be in the first place. 'Were the just made up on the spot by the first ever leader of the clan? Maybe they actually discussed the words and rehearsed them before their first ceremony.... What if they didn't do this in the beginning and it got more and more formal over time? What if they just announced the new name and called it quits? Hmm...'

Wretched out of her thoughts at the sudden mentioning of her name, the silvery black she-cat glanced around with wide eyes before settling on the same voice that had said her name. Realizing it was Robinsong speaking her from where he sat beside her, though she hadn't even realized his presence next to her. Finally focusing her words, she was able to hear the last half of what he said. Clearing her throat quietly, she blinked before trying to piece together what he may have completely said. "I think you must have forgotten, Robinsong. I was given Timberpaw recently." A soft purr rumbled in her chest as she smiled at the tom at her side. She was in one of her giddy moods as usual, despite how the day had went, she couldn't let her mood get down. "I love these ceremonies! All the more apprentices to entertain in camp! I cannot complain at all. I do hope that I will get a chance to mentor your kits when the day comes though! It would be a great privilege. I am glad you think so highly of me." Waving her tail happily long the ground behind her, she turned her gaze as the ceremonies concluded and watched with deeply saddened eyes as Tigerpaw went yowling about in mourn of his mother's take of leave. Frowning, the she-cat couldn't help but let the twinkle of sorrow creep into her eyes as she pitied the young tom. 'How could a mother do that to her kit?' She wanted to find the she-cat and give her a piece of her mind, but remained where she was next to her clanmate.

➳ Tumblepaw bounced around wandering the paths of the forest, happy to be alone. That's when he was the most like himself, when he was alone. Being around others really was not his thing. He was too shy for his own good, and rarely talked. When he did it was always quiet, but when he's alone he is like a different person. The tom jumped, and leaped around, snapping small twigs under his heavy paws when he landed. He was bigger for his age, and with that came a lot of clumsiness. Tumblepaw leapt into the air, but when he landed the twig he landed on rolled instead of snapping, causing the tom to fall and have a sharp rock cut his shoulder. It wasn't a big cut, but there was blood and he didn't know what to do in that moment. Getting up with a grunt, he padded slowly back to camp, keeping the pressure off the shoulder with the cut. Arriving to camp, he headed straight towards Mystic Showers, noticing her near the back of the group. In a hushed tone he greeted her. "H... Hey Tinyleaf... I... I fell and h... hurt myself... could you take a look please?"

xxxxtinyleaf watched the clan from the back of the group, laying her ears back ever so slightly. she watched the cats mill about, curling her tail closer to her. being alone was never something that settled for tinyleaf. her thoughts often owned her in this small period of time. her pale gaze traveled to orchidstar and bumblebee as the two wandered away, and tinyleaf pulled her gaze towards the water a couple yards away from her. neither of her apprentices were in her sight. briarpaw... always being somewhere she shouldn't be, especially in times of need. tinyleaf laid her ears back. what an immature apprentice... she thought quietly, digging her claws into the ground. no, she should not be thinking like that. but she couldn't help it. what would happen when she was gone and briarpaw was by herself? the clan would be doomed, with how much the she-cat wandered off. tinyleaf found herself staring at nothing as a young apprentice approached her. he drew her out of her thoughts, and she gazed at him intently, relaxing ever so slightly. "hello young one." she purred quietly, leaning forwards ever so slightly as he spoke quietly. she purred quietly, nodding. "of course. just sit down and i'll take care of it." she said softly, standing and circling the tom once, noticing the small yet harsh cut in his shoulder. she examined it, before padding to the stock of herbs she had brought. she picked out goldenrod, cobwebs and a poppyseed. she made her way to the big apprentice, before quickly chewing and applying the goldenrod and cobwebs. she then set the poppyseed down infront of him, and sat down. "if the pain is too bad or gets too bad, you can eat that. it just makes you a little tired." she meowed quietly.

➳ The young tom nodded with a faint smile towards the she-cat as she said she would take care of it. Asking for help was always something that scared the tom, because he felt it would make him seem weaker than the rest for doing so. Its taken a long time for him to become mildly alright with asking for help when he needed it. He smiled in thanks towards the medicine cat. "T... thanks Tinyleaf... I really appreciate the h... help. If y... you need help getting herbs e... ever I'm glad to help." The solid black tom offered with a light smile on his maw. He looked down at the poppy seeds, they might come in handy later at night if the pain gets worse.

indent a gut-wrenching pain in my stomach takes me from my dreams.
they're here.
a pained cry leaves my mouth, and I look to the other queens, fear plaguing my body. "tinyleaf! tinyleaf!" I call, over and over. but she has gone to the falls for marshfall's burial. unless on the slight chance an apprentice was still around camp, and able to get help, the other queens were the only other cats around. panicked thoughts fill my head as the pain only gets worse. I shouldn't have sent crowpaw away! I should have let him stay!

four kits. two of them crying out, startled by their new surroundings. the third is moving, relieving me of my worry for her. but the fourth. he wasn't making any sound at all. 'nor was he moving. my heart tears two ways once more. I am happy for my three kits, but scared for the last. "dovewhisper! please! please find tinyleaf, please! he- he can't die! he can't! please dovewhisper, he's barely breathing! please!" I cry out to her, the panic growing by the second. I lick at his delicate, furless skin furiously, trying so hard to keep him alive. "ripplekit! your name will be ripplekit and you will survive!" I whisper to him, tears filling my eyes.
then, it stops. and my ripplekit takes his last breath. my heart seizes, sadness washing over me. drowning me, like the riptide of an ocean. "I love you, ripplekit.."
then, I curl my body around all four kits, and close my eyes, listening to the world around me.

indent it takes a while. mostly, I just try to peek my head over the tons of cats, which is usually easy, but there are so many, and tumblepaw is so young... it's hard to find him in the large crowd. "tumblepaw!" I yell, searching ever so desperately for him. I had not been a good mentor to him in the past day. consoling my brother, as well as my leader had taken up so much of my time, I had not even thought about the young cat I cared so dearly about. tumblepaw. he could be lost, or hurt, or— or standing by tinyleaf, our active medicine cat. his name leaves my maw in an instant, carrying with it relief. I stumble toward him, pushing my way so gently through the dozens of cats. "tumblepaw! I've been looking all over for you! are you ok?" I ask, sniffing him over. I soon come to stop at an injury on his shoulder. tumblepaw had never been a very social cat, and I'd always known about his walks through the forest, but they worried me nevertheless. he got hurt often, and that meant they couldn't train. meant tumblepaw became farther and farther from becoming a full-fledged warrior. "thank you, tinyleaf.." I say, looking up at the molly. she was always gentle with these things, and like I, has always stayed digilent with her work. no, she would never betray her role.. movement from my apprentice brings me back from my thoughts. I study him for a moment, pondering my options. "what happened to your shoulder" I ask, care filling my voice and thoughts.

heartbreak"Well, Tinyleaf, now that we have time for ourselves," the queen meows. nudging her friend for some friendly pampering and chit-chat. Wasn't it Seawhisper's first litter? There was so much to talk about, considering Dovewhisper's second litter was now just coming. It was sad to note that their ... father and older siblings wouldn't be coming to visit them, but at least they had the love of the entire Clan.
heartbreakThen, just as they had left, Seawhisper began her kitting. The older queen was shocked; how could this happen so soon? So early? No, it wasn't going to happen like this, because destiny wasn't supposed to be this cruel.. most kittings go well, right?
