- โฅ The ebony mare was one of the last to be freed from her stall, though she didn't immediately leave like the others did. She hesitated. Phe wasn't so sure that she wanted to venture out into the unknown with the others anymore. This was all she had ever known. Who knew what laid ahead for the bunch. She knew that things would be difficult from here on out, but out of the six, she was at a slight disadvantage. Her sight had been compromised, thus making it difficult to judge distances and detect threats. She only had one good eye. the other eye was no longer there. Having been removed years ago when cancer had made it's presence known. However, now, she was perfectly healthy other wise. As the ebony mare paced her opened stall, she knew that if she stayed behind, she'd be alone. Phe was not keen on being alone. It made her feel vulnerable, and she hated feeling vulnerable. Though, there was always this longing feeling she had. A curiosity of sorts, to see what laid outside of those fences she had been confined to all these years. She wondered if she'd be able to survive on her own out in the wild. After a few more minutes of dattling, the friesian mare bolted out of her stall, following suit behind the others, willing to take the chance at freedom.
The ebony mare threw her head and let out a shrill whinny as she tore out of the barn, leaving all she had ever known in her dust. Heavy hooves making thunderous thuds against the ground as she caught up to the others. However, she came to a halt at the top of a small hill over looking the barn and pastures below. Phe snorted softly and took one last look at her home. She'd miss her human that was for sure, but she needed to do this. She needed to prove to herself that she was able to survive, despite her being the weakest link of the small group. The friesian mare snorted and turned on her hooves once more, not wanting to fall too much behind as her sight wasn;t that great at night. Phe snorted as she brought up the rear, falling into place behind Emira, Zealan, and Lulu.
The group of six soon came to a stop in a meadow, miles away from the small stable in which they had come from.
Phe huffed lightly as she caught her breath, shaking her long mane as she did so. Her muscles ached slightly, not used to running this long of a distance for this long. The black mare flicked her ears around quickly, listening to the sound of various crickets, taking in the scent of the new place also. She couldn't help but feel a little nervous, had she made the right decision by following the others? She could only hope that she had.
