Elise

Elise was not all that much a morning dog. In her usual circumstances, that didn't really matter, her owner waking her up whenever he wanted to go, and her following drunkenly till she regained her wits. But today was one of the last days where they weren't going anywhere, and Elise was most definitely taking advantage of that opportunity.

She awoke to the sound of crickets and a pen scratching lightly over parchment. As she walked over to the latter, she spotted her owner, hunched over a makeshift table in a clearing they had set up camp, scribbling furiously, his eyes alight. When he was in this mood, he wasn't going to notice anything or anyone anytime soon.

At first, she simply bided her time, watching rivers and land pop out from under lines of his pen. It was always really fascinating, and she'd spent many days just watching how he did it with a mixture of interest and awe, but this was the finishing touches to the map and it looked like they'd be leaving soon, so it would be best for her to make her rounds around the village and mentally bid it goodbye.

It wasn't like she wanted to stay, no matter where she stayed anywhere, the fae had lived too long as a traveler to manage any kind of sedentary lifestyle. However, she did like seeing faces she recognized, even if they were still wary of her. Despite only having been here a week, she already knew the layout of the village due to her power and her owner's job, and found her way easily. As she moved, she noted how her scent, usually of dog mixed with old parchment, now was doubly infused with sea salt and the strong perfume of fish. She hoped the latter would fade quickly, it made her terribly hungry.

Suddenly, Elise spotted a young, unkempt pup, looking very very lost. Not wanting the pup to come to any harm, Elise approached with a soft whuff to alert the pup of her arrival, before coming up to her, though she stopped a few steps away. Her size usually intimidated others, which was a plus sometimes, but most definitely now.

Lowering herself playfully, Elise smiled gently at the younger dog. It looked like it was a stray, but a stray that either wasn't very good at being a stray or one that was newly made. "Hello there, little one. Are you looking for something?"
