- Rowanflame had risen with the sun as he did almost every morning. The ginger tom, who was seated just outside and to the left of the warriors' den entrance, had begun to thoroughly groom his pelt after he had awoken. His pink, bristled tongue rasped through his thick, yet short orange fur like a comb, making quick work of the dirt and moss that had attached itself to him. It only took a few moments for the diligent warrior to feel decently satisfied with the state of his pelt. Once finished with that task, Rowanflame's orange glance was cast over towards the fresh kill pile. The thought of grabbing a small morsel before patrols practically made his belly rumble. But, the warrior quickly relinquished the thought, knowing that he should only eat after the hunting patrols were sent out and the other members of the clan were fed.
It was then, that Rowanflame caught sight of Alderstar out of the corner of his eye. He watched silently as the leader of the clan made his way over to the top of his perch: the oddly large cedar stump. Immediately, Rowanflame knew that a meeting was to be called. As there were no kits, and no apprentices old enough for their ceremonies, the ginger tom assumed that Alderstar would be picking a deputy now. Once the loud, booming words of the brown tom rung out across the camp, Rowanflame rose from his post beside the warriors den and quietly padded over to the clear area that laid in front of the stump. He watched some of the other cats begin to rise and file out of their dens to find a seat, before finding a seat himself.
Only a heartbeat after he had found his seat, Rowanflame's attention was caught by his bubbly little apprentice: Sagepaw. He smiled warmly as the small she-cat fired a number of questions at him. She was amusing, her excitement almost contagious as it even filled the tom with a little bit more optimism and curiosity. He parted his maw to answer her, but just as quick as she had appeared, she ran off. Rowanflame shook his head and chuckled lightly to himself, before turning his attention back to the CedarClan leader, who was still waiting for the rest of the clan to assemble.
