The burnt red tabby maneuvered his way between ferns as he eloped ahead of the green eyed shadow of a she-cat that followed quickly after him. His paws drifted over the grass effortlessly as his body felt weightless, as if instead of built of muslces and bones, he was made of feathers plucked off of a baby duck. Turning around and slowing his pace now that they had now placed several fox-lengths between themselves and the camp, the auburn tom grinned at the black furred she-cat as she hurried after him with a blissful look in her eye. In his mind, they were a million miles away with not a worry in the world with Starclan's graces in their favor. His deep green gaze focusing solely on Viperheart as her form drifted closer to him as he waited for her to catch up to his location, while the rest of the world was blurred and unfocused. It was nearly as if she was the only thing in existence, and that her presence was the only presence that was meaningful in his life at this moment in time. It was a feeling that made his heart soar, which was a feeling he had never experienced.
The only feeling that would even come close to the feeling he was experiencing in the moment was when he was named a warrior and everyone chanted his name with enthusiasm. Nothing else compared to this very moment, and he had never felt the warmth that was spreading from his heart and nearly suffocating the lean tabby as it engulfed him from nose to tail tip. The feeling was beyond words, and it was completely out of his control as it only grew worse as the moments went on. The look in her eyes as she locked her gaze with his own caused his ears to burn and sent his mind reeling in an attempt to figure out what he was experiencing. Nothing else mattered in this very moment, not even a loner that could potentially be at their borders, which was a huge thing to Snaketooth, yet in this very moment it didn't even cross his mind. A smear of green and brown surrounded them as he wasn't able to focus on the world around them, as his paws itched to jump around like a kit in an attempt to fly, his body convinced that he was light enough to do so. Why don't we look for a quite pond that is along side the stream? I find the stream calming, or possibly look for a clearing? You know! I have just the thing." It was something he had discovered as an apprentice when he initially escaped the camps walls while no one was looking. Moving close to her once again, he turned around and headed in the direction of the Secret Meadow, as he called it, though he was sure that others knew of it now, though it seemed nearly untouched by anyone but himself. He remained close enough so that his tail lingered on cheek as if guiding her or an unknown link that restrained him from going to far from her.
Only moments had passed at his quick pace before they came up upon a thicket of ferns and brush that blocked their way, but to his advantage, he moved his way toward a tree that was placed between the brush and ferns. Using his paw, he brushed away a curtain of moss that hid a whole underneath the roots of the tree and opened up after a few tail lengths into a clearing. Glancing back, he grinned and waved his tail that was on fire from having been connected to her for nearly 3 minutes, now left tingling like when it it was extremely cold and you put your hands in hot water. It was hot yet cold, the air around his tail now numbing his tail which instantly made him regret removing his tail from her touch. It was almost calming to have constant contact with her, but it was very unusual to be in contact with a cat unless it was in battle. His body was quivering with a jumble of anticipation, fear, worry, and affection which was all very overwhelming for the auburn tom as he often kept to himself, though he would never deny that he had feelings for the she-cat behind him for many moons now. "Do you trust me?" His deep green eyes peered into her own, searching for something but was unaware of what he was searching for. His ears perked with anticipation of her words, hoping that she trusted him enough to enter the tunnel and cross the darkness in order to reach what was on the other side.

Looking up at the sound of paws headed in his direction, the black-and-white pelted tom fluffed his tail as he opened his eyes before relaxing upon spotting his mentor. Breathing out the breathe of air that he didn't realize he was holding, the large apprentice remained exactly as he was, not wanting to fight with the hollowed branch around his rib cage than he already had this morning. Frowning at the joke that Greyclaw made, he grunting his distaste as he turned his hard gaze onto the hollowed branch with a hateful glare, regretting that he had been so proud that he ended up putting himself in this position. "Unfortunately no. I haven't attempted to take of this darn branch off yet today, but I suppose that will happen in due time. I absolutely hate this thing, it itches and makes my pelt hot and musky. I look like a badger that got stuck in a hollow log and pushed its legs through so that it could walk but couldn't dislodge the rest of its body out..." As he sighed and looked at the different assortments of plants and goop that kept the branch attached to him, he actually was considering chewing off the vines so that he could take of the branch.
It had only been a few weeks since the accident and within the short amount of time, he had taken off the rib cage support nearly 10 times, and always at the times when no one was paying attention. He definitely put the medicine cat to work, and much to the medicine cat's favor he had been less hostile toward Birdtail. It had actually been a few days since he had attempted to take off the support, and now that Birdtail had left camp, it was just about time he took it off and got some fresh air on the fur underneath it. He knew that Greyclaw was well aware of how hard a time he gave the medicine cat, but Swiftpaw was sure that the entire clan suspected as much once he was able to move on his own. "Can we train today? I feel fine, and I'm sure its been long enough in this support that I can take it off just long enough to go training! Please?" Greyclaw was the only cat in the clan other than Firepaw that he ever showed respect for, and it was a new-found respect with Firepaw. He wasn't sure why he treated Firepaw or why he liked her presence as much as he did, but when he watched her leave camp it left a pain in his chest. It was something he had experienced when he lost his parents and sister, and he was sure it he felt it in his heart. It only made him angry when he felt that way, as the fiery she-cat was still well in health and she wasn't related to him, so it only further confused the tom. Confusion made the black-and-white tom angry as he hated not knowing things and not being able to understand. It made him feel inferior but it was something he couldn't prevent as it was an involuntary action, but it occurred every time Firepaw left him.

A little shocked at her apprentice's words, she stared wide eyed at the sand colored tabby before a grin grew across her face. The lightly colored tortoiseshell molly watched as determination shone in the apprentice's eyes, an obvious devotion to her words as if her goal was written in stone and that she wouldn't let up on achieving her goal at any moment. Swallowing the lump that formed in her throat as she realized that this meant that much more battle training lay ahead of them, Cedarshade studied the smaller she-cat for a few seconds before forcing a nod. An encouraging smile was placed upon her face as she hid the fact that she was going to dread most of the time she was going to spend with her apprentice, not because of Firepaw but because of what they would be doing. "I will make sure that you show that burly, head-strong tom that even the best of the best can lose. Being that he is quick and strong, he will be harder, so we will have to rely on dodging his moves and using any possible opening. Don't worry, I will make sure that you beat the over-confident tom."
Devoting herself to her words, she was determined to help her apprentice as she couldn't put off this training any longer, as she wouldn't allow her apprentice to falter in battle skills because she was too opposed to battle training. That would make her a terrible mentor and put Firepaw at risk when she became a warrior, and if she got hurt, Cedarshade would never be able to forgive herself. No matter how hard it was going to be mentally and emotionally for herself, Cedarshade would help Firepaw achieve her goal for the apprentice's sake. "One thing that you will be able to use often is the 'tail yank', which is rather self explanatory, but is very rarely taught as it is often forgotten. When your opponents tail is within reach, divert your attention to their tail and clamp your jaws around their tail and any position and secure your teeth around their tail firmly. Then, tuck as hard as you can away from their body. This will not only hurt, of course, but it will throw your opponent off balance, causing them to stumble backwards."
Deciding it was best to demonstrate, Cedarshade crouched in front of her and waggled her haunches. "I am going to circle around you and go in for an attack. As soon as my tail is within reach, grab hold and pull away from my body to unbalance me. This won't cause me to fall but while I am unbalanced, I want you to let go and throw a blow to the head. As I stumble, push against my side in the direction I am falling and then pin me firmly with your paws, though make sure that you are positioned so that I cannot knock your paws out of under you. In a real battle, you will more than likely have your jaws around their throat, ready for a killing blow if absolutely necessary. Hope you got all that!" Pausing before leaping into action, she let Firepaw comprehend what happened before dashing to the left in the direction of Firepaw's right in an attempt to get behind her.

A small, embarrassed grin grew across the gray tabby's face, the young apprentice looked up at his mentor with amused yellow eyes. Though his eyes were an intense yellow much like that of a hawk or eagle, he was quite shy and it contradicted their intimidating appearance. Despite still being shy around Aspenfall, he enjoyed his mentor's company and looked up to him as if he were an older brother. "I will pay attention and work hard! I promise!" A quiet laugh insisted on bubbling up his throat, a shimmer glinting in his eyes as he noticed what Aspenfall was suggesting. "She is just a friend! I swear!" Though his voice was persistent, his eyes betrayed his words and showed the sparkle of affection at the mere mention of the she-cats name. He couldn't deny his crush for the energetic ginger tabby, well not convincingly anyways, and it was extremely hard keeping that from his mentor. It was as if Aspenfall knew all the tricks to knowing exactly what Stormpaw was thinking and what he truly felt, which meant he couldn't hid anything from the observant tom.
