Snaketooth
♛ Warrior ♛ Tom ♛ Crush:: Viperheart ♛
♛ Apprentice:: Morningpaw ♛ Tags:: Viperheart ♛

The burnt red tabby maneuvered his way between ferns as he eloped ahead of the green eyed shadow of a she-cat that followed quickly after him. His paws drifted over the grass effortlessly as his body felt weightless, as if instead of built of muslces and bones, he was made of feathers plucked off of a baby duck. Turning around and slowing his pace now that they had now placed several fox-lengths between themselves and the camp, the auburn tom grinned at the black furred she-cat as she hurried after him with a blissful look in her eye. In his mind, they were a million miles away with not a worry in the world with Starclan's graces in their favor. His deep green gaze focusing solely on Viperheart as her form drifted closer to him as he waited for her to catch up to his location, while the rest of the world was blurred and unfocused. It was nearly as if she was the only thing in existence, and that her presence was the only presence that was meaningful in his life at this moment in time. It was a feeling that made his heart soar, which was a feeling he had never experienced.

The only feeling that would even come close to the feeling he was experiencing in the moment was when he was named a warrior and everyone chanted his name with enthusiasm. Nothing else compared to this very moment, and he had never felt the warmth that was spreading from his heart and nearly suffocating the lean tabby as it engulfed him from nose to tail tip. The feeling was beyond words, and it was completely out of his control as it only grew worse as the moments went on. The look in her eyes as she locked her gaze with his own caused his ears to burn and sent his mind reeling in an attempt to figure out what he was experiencing. Nothing else mattered in this very moment, not even a loner that could potentially be at their borders, which was a huge thing to Snaketooth, yet in this very moment it didn't even cross his mind. A smear of green and brown surrounded them as he wasn't able to focus on the world around them, as his paws itched to jump around like a kit in an attempt to fly, his body convinced that he was light enough to do so. Why don't we look for a quite pond that is along side the stream? I find the stream calming, or possibly look for a clearing? You know! I have just the thing." It was something he had discovered as an apprentice when he initially escaped the camps walls while no one was looking. Moving close to her once again, he turned around and headed in the direction of the Secret Meadow, as he called it, though he was sure that others knew of it now, though it seemed nearly untouched by anyone but himself. He remained close enough so that his tail lingered on cheek as if guiding her or an unknown link that restrained him from going to far from her.

Only moments had passed at his quick pace before they came up upon a thicket of ferns and brush that blocked their way, but to his advantage, he moved his way toward a tree that was placed between the brush and ferns. Using his paw, he brushed away a curtain of moss that hid a whole underneath the roots of the tree and opened up after a few tail lengths into a clearing. Glancing back, he grinned and waved his tail that was on fire from having been connected to her for nearly 3 minutes, now left tingling like when it it was extremely cold and you put your hands in hot water. It was hot yet cold, the air around his tail now numbing his tail which instantly made him regret removing his tail from her touch. It was almost calming to have constant contact with her, but it was very unusual to be in contact with a cat unless it was in battle. His body was quivering with a jumble of anticipation, fear, worry, and affection which was all very overwhelming for the auburn tom as he often kept to himself, though he would never deny that he had feelings for the she-cat behind him for many moons now. "Do you trust me?" His deep green eyes peered into her own, searching for something but was unaware of what he was searching for. His ears perked with anticipation of her words, hoping that she trusted him enough to enter the tunnel and cross the darkness in order to reach what was on the other side.

Swiftpaw
♛ Apprentice ♛ Tom ♛ Crush:: ...I get this strange feeling around Firepaw... ♛
♛ Mentor:: Greyclaw ♛ Tags:: Greyclaw ♛

Looking up at the sound of paws headed in his direction, the black-and-white pelted tom fluffed his tail as he opened his eyes before relaxing upon spotting his mentor. Breathing out the breathe of air that he didn't realize he was holding, the large apprentice remained exactly as he was, not wanting to fight with the hollowed branch around his rib cage than he already had this morning. Frowning at the joke that Greyclaw made, he grunting his distaste as he turned his hard gaze onto the hollowed branch with a hateful glare, regretting that he had been so proud that he ended up putting himself in this position. "Unfortunately no. I haven't attempted to take of this darn branch off yet today, but I suppose that will happen in due time. I absolutely hate this thing, it itches and makes my pelt hot and musky. I look like a badger that got stuck in a hollow log and pushed its legs through so that it could walk but couldn't dislodge the rest of its body out..." As he sighed and looked at the different assortments of plants and goop that kept the branch attached to him, he actually was considering chewing off the vines so that he could take of the branch.

It had only been a few weeks since the accident and within the short amount of time, he had taken off the rib cage support nearly 10 times, and always at the times when no one was paying attention. He definitely put the medicine cat to work, and much to the medicine cat's favor he had been less hostile toward Birdtail. It had actually been a few days since he had attempted to take off the support, and now that Birdtail had left camp, it was just about time he took it off and got some fresh air on the fur underneath it. He knew that Greyclaw was well aware of how hard a time he gave the medicine cat, but Swiftpaw was sure that the entire clan suspected as much once he was able to move on his own. "Can we train today? I feel fine, and I'm sure its been long enough in this support that I can take it off just long enough to go training! Please?" Greyclaw was the only cat in the clan other than Firepaw that he ever showed respect for, and it was a new-found respect with Firepaw. He wasn't sure why he treated Firepaw or why he liked her presence as much as he did, but when he watched her leave camp it left a pain in his chest. It was something he had experienced when he lost his parents and sister, and he was sure it he felt it in his heart. It only made him angry when he felt that way, as the fiery she-cat was still well in health and she wasn't related to him, so it only further confused the tom. Confusion made the black-and-white tom angry as he hated not knowing things and not being able to understand. It made him feel inferior but it was something he couldn't prevent as it was an involuntary action, but it occurred every time Firepaw left him.

Cedarshade
♛ Warrior ♛ She-cat ♛ Crush:: Not currently ♛
♛ Apprentice:: Firepaw ♛ Tags:: Firepaw ♛

A little shocked at her apprentice's words, she stared wide eyed at the sand colored tabby before a grin grew across her face. The lightly colored tortoiseshell molly watched as determination shone in the apprentice's eyes, an obvious devotion to her words as if her goal was written in stone and that she wouldn't let up on achieving her goal at any moment. Swallowing the lump that formed in her throat as she realized that this meant that much more battle training lay ahead of them, Cedarshade studied the smaller she-cat for a few seconds before forcing a nod. An encouraging smile was placed upon her face as she hid the fact that she was going to dread most of the time she was going to spend with her apprentice, not because of Firepaw but because of what they would be doing. "I will make sure that you show that burly, head-strong tom that even the best of the best can lose. Being that he is quick and strong, he will be harder, so we will have to rely on dodging his moves and using any possible opening. Don't worry, I will make sure that you beat the over-confident tom."

Devoting herself to her words, she was determined to help her apprentice as she couldn't put off this training any longer, as she wouldn't allow her apprentice to falter in battle skills because she was too opposed to battle training. That would make her a terrible mentor and put Firepaw at risk when she became a warrior, and if she got hurt, Cedarshade would never be able to forgive herself. No matter how hard it was going to be mentally and emotionally for herself, Cedarshade would help Firepaw achieve her goal for the apprentice's sake. "One thing that you will be able to use often is the 'tail yank', which is rather self explanatory, but is very rarely taught as it is often forgotten. When your opponents tail is within reach, divert your attention to their tail and clamp your jaws around their tail and any position and secure your teeth around their tail firmly. Then, tuck as hard as you can away from their body. This will not only hurt, of course, but it will throw your opponent off balance, causing them to stumble backwards."

Deciding it was best to demonstrate, Cedarshade crouched in front of her and waggled her haunches. "I am going to circle around you and go in for an attack. As soon as my tail is within reach, grab hold and pull away from my body to unbalance me. This won't cause me to fall but while I am unbalanced, I want you to let go and throw a blow to the head. As I stumble, push against my side in the direction I am falling and then pin me firmly with your paws, though make sure that you are positioned so that I cannot knock your paws out of under you. In a real battle, you will more than likely have your jaws around their throat, ready for a killing blow if absolutely necessary. Hope you got all that!" Pausing before leaping into action, she let Firepaw comprehend what happened before dashing to the left in the direction of Firepaw's right in an attempt to get behind her.

Stormpaw

A small, embarrassed grin grew across the gray tabby's face, the young apprentice looked up at his mentor with amused yellow eyes. Though his eyes were an intense yellow much like that of a hawk or eagle, he was quite shy and it contradicted their intimidating appearance. Despite still being shy around Aspenfall, he enjoyed his mentor's company and looked up to him as if he were an older brother. "I will pay attention and work hard! I promise!" A quiet laugh insisted on bubbling up his throat, a shimmer glinting in his eyes as he noticed what Aspenfall was suggesting. "She is just a friend! I swear!" Though his voice was persistent, his eyes betrayed his words and showed the sparkle of affection at the mere mention of the she-cats name. He couldn't deny his crush for the energetic ginger tabby, well not convincingly anyways, and it was extremely hard keeping that from his mentor. It was as if Aspenfall knew all the tricks to knowing exactly what Stormpaw was thinking and what he truly felt, which meant he couldn't hid anything from the observant tom.

      Splashpaw

She cat;; Apprentice;; With Daisyclaw & kits, Ashstripe, and Stormpaw;;

        Splashpaw had to use every ounce of self-control within her body not to jump up and down out of excitement when her mentor had agreed. She stepped aside as Stormpaw gently picked up Frostkit and set her down next to her mother once more. The kit protested, but was quieted when she discovered she was back at her source of food. Splashpaw smirked. She let Stormpaw and Aspenfall exit the den first, dipped her head to the queen, then followed. She hung back a bit as Stormpaw received his mentor's permission to train with them. She was already planning out in her mind what moves she would get to try out on the little grey cat. It had been a while since she had trained with someone her own size, and she was used to compensating for that. She would have to adjust her pounces, she'd be aiming too high. And her weight would be her own downfall as well when fighting a weaker opponent. Swiping a leg out from under him wouldn't be as effective as on her mentor, but perhaps if she could get on top, she'd be able to pin him...
        Her thoughts trailed off as she made her way over to her friend.
        Good morning Aspenfall! She dipped her head respectfully in greeting, then turned back to Stormpaw. Come on, let's go! At this rate, we won't get there until sundown! She nudged him, playfully impatient, toward the camp exit. Thanks Aspenfall! We'll try and bring him back in one piece! She called to the warrior over shoulder.

As Splashpaw made her way to his side, he clamped his mouth shut and looked down shyly with his eyes beginning to grow hot with embarrassment as soon as she came into his vision. When she started to pad away after insisting that they get going right away, he blinked in shock and slowly looked up to see her form already heading away from him.'I-I guess that's it then. I will see you later then, Aspenfall. Thank you for letting me go." A small sliver of excitement made its way into his voice as he spoke to his mentor, dipping his head respectfully before racing after the ginger tabby in an attempt to keep up with her quick pace. His tail quivered as he became more anxious about the training that he was going to face, knowing full well that he wasn't nearly as good as Splashpaw. He would attempt to not let her win, but being terribly shy around her would make it quite hard so he would have to leran how to put that aside and defend himself. He wasn't a great fighter as hunting was more his style, but he was determined to make an impact so that he didn't get picked on too much by the she-cat that he liked so much. It was going to be interesting, as he would definitely be on the defense as that was was he was best at, but he would have to figure out a way to overpower her or unbalance her in order to pin her or tire her out so that he could win at least one of their mock-battles.

      Lightwing

She cat;; Warrior;; With Blizzardstep;;

        Lightwing nodded thoughtfully as he listed his reasons. She felt slightly relieved that his initial thoughts revolved simply around taking notes on being a mentor and wanting to see her hunt. She tensed again, however, when he mentioned how he wanted to spend time with her where she was most comfortable. 'I admire every moment I spend with you dearly, no matter what the circumstances.' She felt her ears heat up and her tail tip quivered slightly. Great Starclan... He, he really liked her then? Like, completely and wholly and no strings attached? He's mad, no cat would say something like that. She jumped up, What do you want from me?! She yowled at him, you keep talking about how I'm beautiful and skilled and all you can see, so you obviously want something! Her heart raced and her thoughts swam. She was aware that she was too loud, but she didn't care. Her legs trembled as she stood, fur bristling, taking short deep breaths, staring at him. He was infuriating! You can't just do that! You can't just- just... She was quieting now, as she realized then exactly what it was about him that bothered her. With every praise he uttered, to her it highlighted her flaws, areas she was insecure about. It put everything she tried to keep to herself out in the spotlight. She crouched low, trying to disguise her shaking. How did he do that? How did he make her feel so vulnerable, so exposed? As she watched for his reaction, he stared at her with huge blue eyes that were side in shock. His body was rigid in response to her accusations and yowling, a sliver of fear glinting in his eyes while he studied her from where she crouched. After a few painful moments of silence, he opened his maw before shutting it again as if he wasn't able to speak from the shock that had ridden him silent. "What do I want from you? Why would I want anything from you? Can't I just enjoy being around you?" His mouth clamped shut as he tried to calm his voice from revealing the pain that was created from her accusations. "Of course I call you beautiful and tell you how skilled you are because a she-cat of your ability and beauty deserves to be reminded and told such. I don't want anything, and I am very sorry that you think that but I am afraid you are completely wrong. I want nothing from you. All I can do is apologize for overwhelming you, or upsetting you. I was just trying to show you my affection as I could no longer simply just watch you from afar. I have grown tired of just admiring you. I have fancied you for a long time now. A sharp breath stopped his talking as the words spilled from his mouth, quickly clamping his muzzle shut for a moment before determination shone in his eyes. "No, there is no going back now. I have had a crush on you since I was an apprentice, but for many moons I have tried to push it aside to not freak you out. I will no longer put it off, as it is now or never. I will not risk another tom sneaking in and stealing your heart, as I will fight for your paw. My kind words have been nothing but truth, all of which come from my heart. You deserve to be shown the good things that make up who you are, and I appreciate every bit of who you are. From your flaws to your attributes! I respect that you don't want to hear it, but I will not back down until you hear all of it at least once. You are truly beautiful, even if your fur is still tangled with moss or feathers. It is not only your looks, but your smile and your aura. Just your presence can light up a den, and your smile can lift anyone's spirits. Your talents don't go unnoticed, and you need to know that you are the best bird hunter by far within the clan. I understand if you don't want to hear the compliments again, but that doesn't mean that I won't stop thinking them." Bright blue eyes glimmered with affection, his body shaking as he looked down upon her fluffy white form as she crouched down to hide her own trembling. His tail quivered and his legs shook from the adrenaline that was coursing through him, breathing quickening with the rate of his heartbeat. His gaze didn't leave her face even when she looked away from him, flinching at the raw pain in his voice. Determined to let his heart ooze onto the ground before her, forcing her to see the truth of it, he cleared his throat and tried to calm the quivering of his voice, he swallowed hard and spoke up once more. "I used to have a crush on you, from my early apprenticeship till the day I became a warrior but with the moons passing by and watching us grow with time, that crush has also grown. I do not lie when I say I love everything about you. I love you more than you can imagine, Lightwing. You can hate me after today, but I will not stop loving you. I will not stop trying to win your heart, and I will never love another she-cat the way I love you! His voice shook as the words stopped spilling from his jaws, though it was obvious that he had more to say. His body shook hard and his dark tail quivered as he grew more anxious of her response. Crouched as she was, she looked tiny and frail against the large trees of the forest. Tears had begun to spill from her eyes, she hadn't noticed when. She shook her head in shock and disbelief. Her ears flattened against her head and she narrowed her eyes skeptically. You really believe all that? she swept her tail around her front paws as she tried to calm herself. "Do I really believe what? How I feel about you? I don't have to believe it, because I know what I feel in my heart. Whenever I look at you, I can't help but smile. The sound of your voice sends a new burst of energy through my veins that I never realized a had. When you made that catch earlier, I wanted to prove that I am a worthy warrior for your heart. I hope to win your heart the honorable way. Why can't you just believe what I tell you? What makes that so hard?" Confusion and pain twisted his face, his body still shaking form the adrenaline form having spilled his heart out to her which left him with nothing left to hide. It was something that he truly didn't mind doing to the she-cat that held his heart in the pad of her paw, but it wasn't something he was used to. He now felt more vulnerable than ever, but he wasn't going to let him seem weak so he kept his gaze from wavering from her face. It was like they were in a battle of emotions and he had just thrown himself in front of her with his belly up, and merely awaited his fate. She had the upper hand as every wall and barrier that had been keeping him from telling her how he felt were now crumbled, leaving him open to be torn down or supported. She took a deep breath and uncurled herself, standing up. She shook her head, I don't know, I just don't know! I don't understand why I can't believe you, or why you even feel this way. You've picked my heart clean, lying all of the pieces out on the ground. Mercilessly, you've thrown everything I had back at me. Your words ring with honesty, yet I can't decipher them. I have never spent much time with you, yet you seem to know everything about me; maybe more than I know about myself. She knew he was anxious for a clear answer, a yes or a no, and to be honest she wasn't sure which she was going to give him. She surprised even herself when she mewed, in her normal pitch, I don't know you all that well, but, perhaps it's time I did something about that. The look upon his face instantly changed as the words left her mouth, which confirmed that it was something that neither of them expected. Confusion lingered on his face but the pain had vanished, replaced with a baffled look as he attempted to keep his jaw from dropping to his paws. For a few moments they looked at each other, not knowing what she should said or how she could be acting, and it seemed rather mutual as he stood in silence as his body slowly began to still as the fear dissipated. Her confidence faltered as the silence drew on and she began to shuffle her paws uncomfortably under his unwavering gaze. Finally, he broke his stare and looked to his own paws for the first time since this conversation broke out and curled lowered his tail in an attempt to calm himself. "I-I.. Wait what? Did I hear you correctly? Are you still here, in the forest with me, Blizzardstep?" His gaze returned to her own with a sliver of worry flecking the black iris that hung submerged in the pool of blue. His tail began to flick as he searched for something off in her gaze, something to notify him that she wasn't with him currently or that something was amiss. Much to his dismay, he came up empty handed and wrinkled his face as his confusion deepened though in an instant it softened as a sigh of relief relaxed his entire body. "I wasn't meaning to frighten you in anyway, nor take the pieces of your heart and scatter them aimlessly about... That was not my intention. I have observed you as I was much to shy as an apprentice to persist on spending time with you, so I just admired you very essence. The way you interacted with others, the way you laughed, the way you made others smile, how hard you worked, and how tense you were before a hunt compared to how relaxed you were when you returned... I suppose I sound like a mousebrain and an absolute creep, but I - He was interrupted by Lightwing, tentatively touching her nose to his cheek. Stop, she whispered. Her tears flowed to the earth to create tiny puddles as she stepped closer to him. I don't see you as a creep or a mousebrain. I see you as the tom I ignored for so many moons, oblivious though I was. And now, She stepped away and, with her head low, looked up at him through large, pale orbs. If you would give me the chance, I'd like to rectify that mistake.

indent[color=#808080]Nothing pleased the black-pelted she-cat than to watch the auburn tabby tom romp ahead of her, only to look back, a smile on his face. The smile, though it warmed her heart, wasn't what made her smile back. It was his subtle and shy kindness. His trust in her to share a place he had discovered that, while he didn't verbalize it, was very secret and dear to his heart. Something he treasure. The fact that he would trust her with such a gift astonished the warrior, filling her with a warmth that consumed her heart and her body, spreading a joy through her that made her want to run and never look back. To run with no fear. To run beside Snaketooth.

Bounding over the ground, Viperheart felt her paws hit the mossy floor, her body growing closer and closer to the red-brown tabby tom that she longed to be next to. And as she grew closer, the green-eyed she-cat heard his soft words, tender and kind. "Yes," she answered, almost immediately, and it was true. She did trust him. More than she trusted any other cat in the clan. It had initially been because of his loyalty and bravery in battle-his tenacity to fight for what he believed in. But now, her trust in this cat was based on his courage in battle, and in daily life. His courage to talk to her, despite his gut-level reaction to be wary around others. It made Viperheart proud that he might care for her the same way she cared for him. And as they stood before the tunnel, her heart longed for adventure and to be near the fierce warrior she called her friend. "I trust you." She repeated herself, emphasizing its meaning. That she truly did trust him. Her eyes locked onto his, slowly giving a trusting blink.

Mouth clamping shut and body tensing as her nose pressed against his fluffy white cheek, Blizzardstep felt a lump in his throat begin to form in response to her touch and closeness. In an attempt to choke it down, the white tom swallowed fiercely as it threatened to compress his airway, and coughed as soon as she pulled away which finally allowed him to breath normally. Butterflies fluttered within his stomach, doing all sorts of tricks and attempting to escape the confinements of his stomach while he stared completely frozen to where he was standing. His mind grew fuzzy and his cheek tingled from where she had touched his cheek, completely boggled to the point that when she told him to stop, it was as if she was trying to speak to him while he was completely submerged underwater. Closing his eyes for a moment and studying his swaying body as his head soared up to the clouds, leaving him light-headed as if he himself were floating on air. Trying to focus and hear her voice, he held his breath and dug his claws into the ground to hold himself steady while she spoke, swallowing hard as he comprehended her soft, kind voice. 'Y-You mean it? I mean.. Y-yes! Of course I would give you a chance! I would give you a million chances if that is what it took to win your heart..." His voice faltered as he drew in another quick breath to stead himself and calm the butterflies that fluttered against the threshold of his stomach.

Heart nearly bursting out of his chest as it skipped a beat before nearly trying to tear itself out of his chest, the auburn tabby's eyes lit up like stars at her words. An overwhelming warmth consumed every inch of his pelt and a love that was unconditional consumed every other emotion that struggled to be noticed within him. A goofy grin spread across his face and spun around, wrapping his tail over her shoulder once more so that he could guide her through the dark tunnel, a small light laying ahead of them almost two foxlengths away. His breathing was quick as his tail tingled more fiercely with her fur pressed more firmly against his own, the heat of her body sending an electrified jolt through his body. An energy that he had never felt before coursed through him, giving him the thrill that he could run for moons on end without tiring if only she were at his side, her pelt brushing against his own.

The musky tunnel wasn't terribly small, and could fit small apprentices side by side, but not quite large enough to fit a fox nor badger, which meant that anything that lie ahead was smaller than the two warriors that were about to enter. As the opening neared faster than expected, he pulled himself out of the darkened whole with a few specks of dirt dusting his pelt but he took no notice as he moved a little farther into the meadow in order to let Viperheart follow. The sky was open above, surrounded completely by trees and the lower ground was thick with bushes and ferns that were so tightly interwoven that there was no other way to get to the meadow except for the hidden tunnel. The growing yellow light behind the trees trailed away from the direction of the sun, lighting up the sky above with white clouds dancing across the pink and orange artwork. The grass was as green as emeralds and spotted with pink and yellow wild flowers that were now in full bloom due to the fact that it was nearly greenleaf. The colors were vivid and a small stream trickled into a pool that rest in the center of the clearing, the stream hardly large enough to stand in. Turning his vibrant pine green gaze on the black-pelted she-cat, he removed his tail and held it proudly behind him with an enlightened grin on his face. "Welcome to what I call, the Hidden Meadow." His voice was quiet yet full of energy as he watched for Viperheart's reaction. The atmosphere was tranquil, hospitable, and carefree. Untouched and unknown. This meadow was something he never shared with anyone, but here he was, with the she-cat of his dreams, showing her without any fear or worry in his mind.

            " I never really thought of it like that, but I guess it is. " Once Silverwing stood and bid her farewell, Sparrowtail simply waved her tail back and turned her attention to burying the remains of her meal.
            As she finished patting earth over the bones, the familiar voice of her apprentice neared. " Morning, Icepaw. A hunting patrol? I see, " She paused for a few moments to think. " Actually, I'll join you. The patrol is already out, and I'd like to see how you and your den-mates are going with your hunting skills. " Pulling herself to her paws, she moseyed over to the small group, flicking her tail in greeting to the apprentices, and nodding to Silverwing. Alright, kits, if you're hungry, go eat now. " The she-cat's words would have been playful, had her tone not been intentionally mean teasing to the smaller cats. " Silverwing, what shall we have the apprentices focus on today? Stalking, or tree hunting? Perhaps fishing? " Her tone was now calmer, more serious now that she was intent on working with the apprentices.

            " Oh, good, it'll be nice having you hunt with us. " Morningpaw replied with a small smile. Seeing him walk off to Sparrowtail, she turned her attention to Silverwing. " Snaketooth is out, I'm sure he'd be fine if I went hunting, if anything I bet he'd want me to be of use if I'm able to help. " She rolled her shoulders, and began stretching her muscles in anticipation for the hunt, her sky blue eyes glowing with some form of excitement but also nervousness, a growing feeling of apprehension weighing in her chest. I hope I don't mess up in front of the warriors.. I'm only a few moons away from being a warrior, and it would be embarrassing if I failed a simple hunt..

      Splashpaw

She cat;; Apprentice;; With Stormpaw and Aspenfall;;

        As they padded through the forest, Splashpaw let the luscious sounds and scents of greenleaf flood her senses. It would be a good season, she could already tell; birds were singing high above and little critters were shuffling around on the forest floor. Prey would be plentiful. She was born late greenleaf, so this would be her first as an apprentice, and she was excited. She glanced at Stormpaw as they walked toward the training clearing. The morning sun cast dappled patterns of golden light on his dark pelt, making him look spotted. It caused her own fur to shimmer like a soft flame as it passed in an arbitrary pattern.
        So, Stormpaw, the fiery young apprentice began, tired of the simple silence in which they travelled. They weren't a hunting patrol, she should have this liberty. What's your favorite position when battling? Offensive or defensive? Mine's offensive, but, you probably could have guessed that. She grinned sheepishly and continued. I mean, I can do defensive, don't get me wrong, and it's fun and all, but offense is just so much more thrilling! She knew he'd say defensive, she could tell from his personality. They were kind of polar opposites, the two of them, and she found it fascinating that they were friends even still.
        Splashpaw

      Lightwing

She cat;; warrior;; With Blizzardstep and Crowpaw;;

        Lightwing, despite herself, purred softly at his response. She was realizing just how expressive his bright blue eyes could be; how many different emotions had flitted through them just now? Too many to count. He looked a little unsteady on his feet. Why don't we go find Crowpaw now and go home, she murmured, picking up her kills and pressing her side against his to steady him. He had felt this way about her for so long, and she hadn't noticed. She prided herself on being able to tell what other cats thought of her, yet she had been completely blind to perhaps the most important thoughts; his.
        She pulled ahead a little bit, keeping her tail on his shoulder until she spotted a blur of black in the distance. She slowly removed her tail, trying to keep her distance as they approached her apprentice so he wouldn't think anything had happened while he was gone.
        Crowpaw! She called quietly as they neared, It's time to head back, what have you caught? She didn't doubt he'd caught prey sufficient for his assessment, but wanted to give him the opportunity to show off a little bit.

Icepaw
♛ Apprentice ♛ Tom ♛ Crush:: To Be Developed ♛
♛ Mentor:: Sparrowtail ♛ Tags:: Morningpaw, Cinderpaw, Silverwing, Sparrowtail ♛

Knowing full well that Sparrowtail was teasing, even though it sounded a bit harsh, Icepaw rolled his eyes and shook his head with a small smirk. 'Yeah right. If anyone is a kit here, it would be those two she-cats." Giving a look over his shoulder, he snorted and gave a teasing grin, trying to be easier to approach, though it felt awkward. Quickly he looked away and turned his gaze back onto is mentor as she asked Silverwing what she wanted to do for the day, with the three of the apprentices. Glancing over to the side with his pale green eyes, he settled them upon Morningpaw while he thought about what she said about Snaketooth before shrugging with a small nod. "You are probably right. Snaketooth isn't one to let anyone slack, and would definitely want you putting yourself to some use than sitting around camp like an elder." Though his voice was a little harsh, his eyes betrayed him as he looked upon the timid she-cat his eyes softer now that his mentor was nearby and he was forcing himself to not reject anyone in the moment or be terribly rude. It had been only a couple minutes but he was still tearing himself up inside about how he kept pushing everyone away with harsh words and dirty looks, which was a terrible habit of his.

As they exited camp, he followed after the fiery pelt that lit up like a fire was coming to life with every touch of light that managed to fall upon her fur. Entranced by the way her pelt as it flickered like the tongues of a fire as it lapped at the air, Stormpaw caught his paw on a root and fell face first into the ground. Coughing and spitting out dirt and bits of grass out of his mouth, the stormy grey tabby scrambled to his paws and rearranged himself in an attempt to cover up his mistake. Shaking his head to clear his mind, he avoided looking at the she-cat's disappearing form, making sure to watch his step as he quickly caught up to her so that he was only a tail length away. Happy that she broke the silence so that he could forget that he could have totally made a fool of himself just a few moments ago, Stormpaw perked his ears with interest as she asked him a question about battle training, explaining her favorite side of the battle. Clearing his throat, he looked to the trees above before remembering his fall and quickly looking to his paws to be sure that he didn't snag his paws on anything else and make a bigger fool of himself. "I... Uh... I would say defensive... It takes patience and control to not act irrationally and use an offensive attack to your advantage." His voice grew more quiet as he continued till he fell silent once again, well aware that it wouldn't be long before the came upon the training clearing.

Blizzardstep
♛ Warrior ♛ Tom ♛ Crush:: Lightwing ♛
♛ Apprentice:: Not Assigned ♛ Tags:: Lightwing & Crowpaw♛

As his gaze lingered on her large grey orbs, Blizzardstep couldn't help when his mind went into a frenzy once again, panicking to regain his composure as he became more aware of how light-headed and weightless he was feeling after she had made the attempt to comfort him with the touch of the nose to his cheek. The tingling still lingered in his cheek and his pelt was still extremely hot with his ears burning as the heat flowed quickly through the thin skin. His heartbeat was pulsing in his ears and he could feel his heart hitting against his rib cage as he stood rooted where he was, claws dug deep into the soft earth below him to keep him steady. Taking a few long, deep breaths to hopefully slow his heartbeat and calm his frantic mind, the white ragdoll tom nodded faintly as he still wasn't completely there. As she brushed her pelt against his and attempted to give him more support, his pelt quickly raced and heat flooded his face once again as this was the most contact he had ever had with the she-cat in his entire life. As she moved ahead and left his side as she spotted Crowpaw's pelt pass through a set of ferns a little ways ahead, the fluffy tom stumbled to the side as he couldn't regain his composure quick enough to catch himself. Shaking his head and pelt, he forced himself to focus and kept his mouth shut and eyes off of Lightwing in an attempt to control his motor functions without anymore trouble.

Crowpaw
♛ Apprentice ♛ Tom ♛ Crush:: Not currently ♛
♛ Mentor:: Lightwing ♛ Tags:: Lightwing & Blizzardstep♛

Having just pushed past a few branches of a bush and racing through a cluster of ferns in pursuit of a young, well-fed squirrel, Crowpaw registered his mentor's voice and pawsteps off to the side but didn't stop the pursuit. Launching himself with a burst of speed, he raced around a tree and ran into the squirrels side, bowling it over and knocking the breath out of it momentarily. It was only a moment before he was upon its fluffy body and sinking his teeth into its neck and killing it before it could attempt to get away from his clutching jaws. Knowing what his mentor had said as he raced by, he heaved a sigh of relief as he was glad to be headed home despite his catches. Following his scent trail, he located where he buried his previous prey, unburying the sparrow and robin that he had placed together, he picked both birds up by their feet so they wouldn't drag on the ground and placed the squirrel over his back so that he wouldn't strain his neck too much and tire his body. Heading back to his mentor and Blizzardstep, he blinked his intense yellow eyes with a wide grin on his face that was clear despite the bird feet that were in his mouth. The black fur pulled away from his mouth and his teeth shone in the lighting, contrasting against his pelt to frame his smile even more deviantly. "I ffink I did pretty well. Not to bwag or anyffing, but Daishyclaw will eat well for a few daysshh." Words blocked and muffled by the bird feet in his mouth, Crowpaw stopped talking and merely did a circle to show off his kills, having had a little bit of time to make a few decent catches.

            Snorting at Icepaw's words, Morningpaw objected. " Excuse me, but I'm older than you, so that makes you closer to being a kit, Icepaw. " She wrinkled her nose at the tom, her eyes glittering with amusement. Noticing his cool green eyes were still trailing on her several moments after, Morningpaw looked at her paws, shying away from his gaze with burning ears. "Yeah, yeah, he wouldn't want that, especially from his apprentice. I just hope that if he comes back he doesn't have anything planned, I wouldn't want to keep him waiting.. " Her reply grew quieter as she spoke, and she had to clear her throat as apprehension once again crept through her, until she gave her pelt a thorough shake. " But he'll be fine with me going out so long as I'm with other mentors. " Morningpaw added on, more so in attempt to assure herself than the others.
