Nettlestream
of Streamclan

rank: deputy
age: 32 moons
tagged: brooksplash, ravenpaw
Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a certain wild-patterned silver grey tabby. Oh, Brooksplash, Nettlestream's small blue ears dipped slightly, wincing slightly at the warrior who just had one smelly fish tail slapped across their face, making her fangs dig into her own prey between her jaws. The metallic juices and the pungent smells of fresh fish flooded her nose, but Nettlestream stopped herself and her groaning belly. The clan must be fed first. She remembered the humiliation of being attacked by her own prey many moons ago, but then she learned the trick of being one with the water. The deputy glanced away quietly, turning a blind eye of whatever she just witnessed. She'd applaud the younger cat for her.. unique ideas, but the sooner they could feed the clan, the better, and she hoped Brooksplash was rational enough to know that. She'll let her have her fun for now while it's still early.

Soon, Nettlestream could be seen entering through the thick, green bushes that surrounded their camp. The lean, blue deputy gave her pelt a quick shake as she dragged herself through the barrier. It had served them well so far from foxes and badgers who would try to raid their home. While padding slowly towards the freshkill pile, the deputy's left ear flicked towards a small, black apprentice that was heading towards her direction. Well, this was certainly new - Ravenpaw was usually so distant and usually ignores her seniors. Other times she was just down right rude, according to Dustfeather. Shame, since the apprentice always willingly threw herself into her studies as their future medicine cat. Ravenpaw mewed her greetings to Nettlestream as she placed her successful hunt in the pile - the first freshkill of the day.

"Good morning, dear," Nettlestream replied, raising her long, blue tail in greeting before sitting down to lick her paws - a way to show Ravenpaw to be at ease with her. The medicine cat apprentice must be in a good mood today. "How is your inventory coming along?"

Weaselcloud's thick, long brown tail swayed gently with amusement as he watched his apprentice awoke from her sleep. Honestly, he felt bad for waking her up so early, but he wanted to take her on an early hunting patrol so she could have the rest of the day off - a schedule he favored when he was at Russetpaw's age. "Why yes," he mewed, his tone unwavered by the younger cat's grumbles. "That is, until I became an apprentice." Weaselcloud took a few pawsteps back from the den to give Russetpaw some space to crawl out and stretch, all the while watching her movements. Russetpaw had a thick pelt of flames and her fur would usually flare out like a stormy mess; such a description which matched her personality quite well. His fellow warriors would question how he can handle such a sharp-tongued juvenile, but Weaselcloud never had an answer. Just a far-off gaze, then a casual shrug. Every apprentice has the guts to be a warrior in Oakclan.

"Today, we're going in a dawn border patrol," he purred to her. "I believe you've shown a lot of improvement in the past moon during combat training," Which was true. Ever since Russetpaw gained her apprentice title, she had shown a lot of promise with her claws. Judging from the type of build she had, it was possible that she would grow as big as he - maybe even bigger - and Russetpaw would equal him in terms of strength. "It's about time I showed you the landmarks of our territory." With a soft wave of his tail, he motioned Russetpaw to follow him as he approached their leader - Weaselstar.

"Good morning, Weaselstar," he greeted her. How funny that they had the same prefix to their name. It would be funnier if he were appointed deputy - then there would be another Weaselstar if their leader had to step down. Weaselcloud blinked away his musings before they took over his mind and carried him off to the sky. This was no time to muse! Besides, that title belonged to Goldenheart. He had to seek permission first from their leader! "I'll be taking out Russetpaw today around the borders, if that's alright,"
