The Beta of Moonlight Pack
"Freedom is life's great lie, and once you accept that, you will know peace."
The mocha-colored fae was awakened by a cool breeze blowing through her thick fur. She had been so exhausted when she went to bed the night before that she had not crawled into the warmer corner of her den, merely collapsing just inside of the opening. Pulling herself to her paws, she shook out her body, little pieces of dirt and leaves falling out, but also, the action warmed her a bit. She couldn't help but be thankful for her fur, which was thicker in density than her sister's was, for it kept her warm on cool mornings like this one. Exiting her den, she looked around the pack campgrounds, trying to find her sister so they could plan a hunting party to go out and try to find some food, but, as was common, Luna was no where to be found. Her scent was still fresh on the ground, but it was leading off towards the woods, towards the border to be precise. She was likely meeting her love from the other pack. The other alpha, to be exact. Wasn't that just the most perfect love story one could imagine?
Shaking her head, the fae tried to shake away the feelings of slight jealousy that overtook her. She knew she had no right to be, and in all honesty, she wasn't the biggest fan of this treaty type thing between the two packs. They were supposed to be sworn enemies, and had been since the very beginning, so it was prosperous. That her sister had agreed to it, but only because she had fallen in love. If she had never met that stupid brute none of this would be happening. But it was too late for that. Now, of course, she wasn't jealous that her sister had fallen for a member of the opposite pack, but just for the fact that her sister had found love. Although she would never admit it, Natalia had always wanted to meet the perfect male, fall in love, become mates, and have pups. But it was never her life, her sister had been the lucky one. She was the one chosen to become alpha, although Nat was older. Brutes always flocked Luna, never Natalia. She was jealous, but she would never admit it.
