- Early December...12-3-13
The delicious smell of hot coco filled the air and comforted empty stomachs. It was cold and everyone was freezing.This winter was unnaturally cool and stiff. Even in winter some of the birds would still sing their lullaby. But the mocking jays and Red Robins didn't sing their lovely song. The trees wouldn't tell their lovely stories. Not even the late flocks of geese would echo down the streets or the forest. The sound of leafs letting go of their branches to explore the earth below was nowhere to be found. Nothing seemed to say anything. The forest was hiding something, or it was hiding from someone. Though everyone was too busy to notice the tension and the lull silence. Cars down the street carried trees chopped down for the forest. But something was different about them. The pine trees and their leafs weren't green. The farmers that produced these lushes of green pines were worried. Nothing and no one in all their time had seen something so odd. It was this morning when the farmer from Ponderay Road was found unconscious in his barn. Have of his stock was either dying or dead. The other half was gone. No trace of them. Sheriff Morgan had gone to investigate a trail of transparent liquid which lead him to an end. It was a cliff. The transparent liquid kept gliding down and into the frozen river below him. He gazed over the cliff and leaned in but there was a sound that caught his attention. Before he could turn around Sheriff Morgan was falling down and broke through the thick layer of ice. Some say he slipped others say something pushed him in. No one knows. There was one witness watching. A week after that the witness was at the hospital dying. And the last words he said was "Shh! Be quiet and hope it doesn't find you" before he went into a permanent coma.
