~ Blu ~ Male ~ Alone ~
Blu walked slowly through a battered street of lower new york. The place was quiet, too quiet. His colour was a calm blue, he was relaxed but always on guard which added an extra tint of a darker blue in his pattern. The male mutation raised his ears, he was alone although he preferred it that way, he let out a bellowing howl announcing his presence before slipping silently away into an old apartment to rest. His long journey had tired him. His silver eyes wandered about the place as he clambered up crumbling stairs. Vine crept in through broken window panes and through any crack in the wall. Nature was taking over, only this wasn't nature any more. Blue had traveled for a reason, food. The mutations further north and out of new york had decimated the prey population giving them no choice but to have to move. Most went north only to perish in the harsh winter storms. The though sent a shiver down his spine, raising his fur slightly. The mutation flicked his tail as a rather large leap beckoned before him. His long slender black claws pushed him off the rough concrete surface only to be welcomed with the same surface only at a higher level. Tall slender ears raised at the sound of the wind, a thin muzzle was raised to scent the air. There were others like him somewhere. He hoped his call would draw them closer, if not push them away. The roof of the building must have been a garden, for it was over run by dying plants and thriving mounds of weeds. A sigh escaped as Blu exhaled deeply, drawing in a deep breathe before letting out another bellowing howl. The sight of the dead congregating beneath him in small numbers worried him, but was the least of his concerns.
~ Raven ~ Female ~ Alone ~
Raven walked confidently down the cracked streets of yesterday, the once bustling city one side and the beckoning forest on the other. Her large ears lay flat on her head, giving her a sleek and stream line image from in front. Her two tails entwined to avoid getting in the way. The bushier one enveloping her other, thinner and striped, tail in a mask of warm fur. The sense of fear was all around her, it seemed the city was now teaming with mice who feared her very presence, the sound of their tiny heart beats increasing in her mind. Raven turned her head, rats scuttled away. "Why are you following me..?" She growled, knowing all to well they couldn't answer. Maybe they'd thought she would make a kill at some point. By the look of them, they were in no need of scraps. Raven's ribs were hidden by a thick layer of fur, but when pressed against her body weight became all to apparent. Hips bones, rib bones could be felt, her stomach tucked in. Raven scented the air with her long slender muzzle, nothing. She hoped to find something and make a kill soon. Then an idea came into her head. Collapsing on the floor, she breathed heavily and closed her eyes. Raven had figured what they were waiting for, the rats scuttled over quickly, crawling on her body. The female mutant heaved herself up quickly, snatching a rat and snatching another in quick time. The two large carcasses before her, would satisfy her hunger for now and hopefully help her in gaining weight. Her bracelets on her right fore paw jingled as she walked with the rats in her mouth. She ate on quickly, its bones crunching under her teeth. Offering sweet relief to her growling stomach. Raven growled the smell of the undead wafted on the wind, only they were no where near her. That wasn't the point. Raven clambered up a small building, from the outside and sat calmly on the roof, her stomach craving the next rat in which she ate in turn. Pools of rain water clustered below, some was in the gutters. Her stomach had strong acids after the mutation and she could drink almost anything unless of the dead ones has died or fed in it. Her long blue tongue lapped up with water, the sound echoing through the drainage pipes.
