She had been so engulfed at listening to the conversation she hadn't heard someone else approach until the voice had spoken in her ears. She jumped her fur rising along her shoulders in alarm as she turned to look at the brute, her green eyes wide in surprise. But within a few moments she calmed as she identified the brute to be Lucian, " You nearly scared my fur off!" she exclaimed as she her salmon tongue over her back to quickly flatten her ruffled russet fur. "Well Daegan was out again all night it seems and Perla noticed and as you can hear for yourself is putting him in place. He apologized of course and we'll see what happens next" she quickly explained to him giving him an update of the so far drama of the morning. It wasn't that she liked having drama or even starting it, she just like to know what was happening and when something interesting was happening how could she not listen? She was simply just drawn to anything happening. She kept one ear turned to the conversation and another slightly turned back to Lucian, giving him her attention as well as keeping herself up to date on what was happening behind her.

The smile carried over and she nodded her head in regards to the alpha but realized she was quickly dismissed. The smile instantly dropped as the small wolf headed into the woods. Though being bigger was generally much better for a wolf her size allowed her to remain quieter. Thinking back to Perla's words about not letting the larger prey into Helexius territory Lady supposed she could make a stop in that direction first, hopefully herd them back towards their territory and away from the other. She began sniffing around, trying to locate the scent of the herds. She managed to find the first one a good distance into the woods and quickly set off after it. When she finally broke the tree line she could see a herd of elk grazing peacefully, her only concern came in how she could handle it. Lady didn't doubt her skills as a hunter but with her size if the herd turned and ran towards her she could easily be caught up in a whirlwind of hooves. Taking action she slunk quietly around the herd, making sure to remain downwind of them until she stood between the herd and the borders. First came a fierce growl which caught the first one's attention and in turn that one alarmed others. The group began running and Lady kept alongside them, off to the side to ensure she wouldn't get hurt and they would keep away from the borders. Although as soon as one turned to defend the herd was when her chase stopped, she wasn't interested in being hurt and so the small white wolf turned away from the group quickly to resume her hunt.

Lucian chuckles, "I knew you were listening. You make it really obvious. But Perla wouldn't make her beta step down to delta. She never trusts herself- notice how she has been anxious and agitated lately? I hear she is going on her third year, but who has been keeping track? She started too early as the alpha. By the time she's eight, she'd have had enough." he grins, flicking his ears at her. "She's going crazy." He smirks, winking at her. "Which only means you can try to become lead hunter. Our last one died from a hard kick to the ribs, but that could be any of us. He was sickly anyways, so go for it!" He smirks, nodding to the fae who had started walking back to her post at the top of the alpha's den. All of it was true- the fae had been angry easily, but he had heard her past wasn't the easiest either. She was abused as a pup- bitten, beaten, pushed to her limits- everything. Though, Lucian had a good pup hood, having two hunter parents who died from a war between the two packs when he was no more than three months old. He didn't really remember them, as it was just about three years and three months since that day...

Perla lets out an extra warning growl, a deep noise in her throat as he apologizes. "You know my rules. Obey them and you will be fine." She snaps, stalking away from the brute. She passes two hunters, a brute and a fae, who were talking. She ignores the conversation, launching herself on top of the den. Dirt kicked out, landing on any wolf who was within at least a foot of her den, which was none. She walks to the base of the tree, the large trunk allowing her to lay against it. Tonight was the meeting to the two alphas- they would meet at the ridge where the waterfall lay, at the edge of the territories, between both of their land. She already knew what to say- altissima was doing great. they had enough prey for the pack and there were enough pups who were training, though it was a lie. She knew who she would take, too. Callum, her delta, phantom, and lady. Two had been trained as warriors, and lady was good enough to bring so she looked as if they had a large pack. Then she still had lucian, daegan, and the rest of the warriors and hunters in the camp to protect it.

The powerful, dark wolfess noticed her beta arrive near her, out of his den, later than she would prefer but earlier than some of the others seemed to be. Sure, there weren't very many 'others' when it came to members of her pack, which could be a hassle sometimes, but she had learned to deal with it. Most wolves that came to the area as loners stumbled across the Altissima lands first, but Aurora did not care, or so she told herself. She found many wolves too weak, unworthy to be in her pack. If they were not strong, perfect, she did not except them. She didn't even know why she allowed there to be an omega, or was it two? Either way, they were exceptions, a rare thing. Looking at her beta, her ears pinned flat against her skull, eyes narrowing at him as she spoke cooly, "Excuses are not acceptable. Do not let it happen again." She said to him, her underlying tone full or warning. He of all people should know not to cross her, for she may be a fae, but that did not mean she could take down a brute if need be.

Five Years

The pale, ghost of a brute was growing tired of laying there waiting, but he knew better than to try and walk on his paw and hurt it any worse. When the healer exited her den, he quickly stood to his paws, still babying the front left one. "Not exactly. I have a thorn wedged in the pad of my paw and it's driving me insane. it won't come out." The brute did not use any more words than that, keeping things simple and short. He was known for being a creature who rarely spoke, and when he did he kept his conversations quick. His eyes averted from the fae, looking at the ground underneath his paws[, shifting his weight around uncomfortably. He hoped it would be an easy thing to fix, that she would be able to just pull it out and he'd be able to go on his way like nothing ever happened. That's just how he was; he didn't like owing others anything. It made him feel weak, and that is one thing he hated. The only other thing that he did not believe in was love, it was stupid and useless and just got in the way of life, screwing up ones mind.

Shaenera inwardly sighed, plastering on a fake smile so as to appear welcoming, as a healer always should. He was just another injured wolf coming by to get his wounds fixed, and Shae couldn't help but inwardly laugh at herself for having such high hopes today. Every day was the same, and she should know that it would never change. She watched as Phantom's gaze flittered down to his paws, and she nodded in understanding. "It's hard to get them out yourself, but I can do it for you. Which paw is it?" she asked sweetly, turning on her healer charm to make him feel comfortable. It was the number one rule her own mentor had taught her: keep the wolves comfortable so they relax, and won't be in so much pain.

She rolled her eyes at him "Wow thanks, just when I thought I was getting good at eavesdropping" she said sarcastically, but with a mock serious face. She listened to him, her other ear flicking back forward as the conversation between Perla and Daegan stopped bringing her full attention to him. She noticed just past him thought that Perla was heading back to her den, the alpha jumping upon her den and leaving her sight. "Oh really? I hadn't know that about her. Well hopefully she stays sane enough to lead this pack and keep us all from falling apart" she said looking toward where she had disapeared for a moment more before her eye returned to him. She lightly laughed as he suggested she go for lead hunter "Are you crazy? I would be the last choice for such a title. I'm sure any of the other hunters would be a better choice than myself" she said flicking her ear as if to dismiss the idea entirely. Her as lead hunter? Although she dismissed the fact she could ever do such a thing she did know being such a title would be a great honor in her position. Besides she was a skilled hunter, built for speed and agility and all her movements fluid and precise she had hope she could possibly one day prove herself of such a title.

ædificabis° quite fluffy, but lean underneath all the plush fur. she has perpetually pinned ears and a shortish tail.

cast aside, a relic, a thing of a former kind of glory. an antique. this wolf is reserved and quiet, and very much what her name suggests. she seems almost past her prime for such a young wolf. she bears no ill feelings towards anyone ever, as she rarely speaks enough to get into a fight. antique is docile and not much of a teacher. her looks reflect her personality, as she appears always sad or somber.
so how did this odd little fae become beta?
because she also reflects the other qualities of an antique. she is old, musty, quiet and boring. but, when needed, is something of ancient beauty, amazement and awe. she comes alive in battle, and when her family or pack is in danger. antique is the most ferocious and beautiful of them all, and she shows it with a flash of fury. every emotion caught up inside her beautiful white fur is let out in a burst of sudden energy.

antique was born in captivity, and she was later released, as she was part of a species rehabilitation program. she then travelled farther than she was supposed to as a pup, and made it to her current pack. the humans lost track when he collar was deactivated in a storm, and then eventually worn down enough to come off. she spent most of her time feeding the pack, and trying not to think of her captive parents. she never had any siblings, and despite this, was still a runt. antique is small and agile, and her pawsteps are like falling snow.
she seems like nothing special, but watch out...

Nothing too much happened, the wolves woke up. I think both packs have already had a small tussle about leaving without permission, but nothing too big. ]]

Daegan nodded once again. She had a right to be angry. As beta, he should have known better than to go against her word. He wouldn't want some wolf doing it to him. Her last words stung worse than any bite she could have given, and he winced a bit before watching her stalk off. He knew the reason she was so testy lately. It would be the beginning of her third year as alpha soon. He twisted his ears to hear the end of the eavesdroppers conversation, but paid no mind to it. There was no doubt that Alera was a good hunter, but the rest weren't so bad either. She has to step up, he thought to himself, to be considered for that spot. It isn't an easy one to gain. He shook the thought out of his head and wandered close to the edge of the opening, before turning back to look at the rest of the pack. Sitting on his haunches, he decided to wait for orders to leave for hunting and patrol.

Despite his almost always present stubbornness Titan did not retaliate this time, instead he dipped his head in respect once again and allowed himself to be scolded. "Of course, it won't happen again," he assured her with the same dead tone of voice he almost always used. By almost always one of course means whenever he is enduring something he does not like. It was a habit of his and despite his attempts to break it he never could. He was careful of her underlying warning as well. He was prideful but he wasn't an idiot and he knew not to cross an alpha with such a taste for blood, as he liked to refer to her. It just wasn't easy for him to take orders from a younger wolf so in order to ease the frustration he had to do something. Turning he turned away from her to go sit by his own den to wait for something to do. There wasn't much right now so it seemed that was really all he could do. So far there wasn't really a pack, just a few wolves trying to take on a larger force.

After escaping from the herd Lady had pulled back to watch them silently as she contemplated what food to go after. She needed something small enough for her own self to take down but big enough to feed some of the pack. Deciding that she'd have to go after a fawn the wolf stood, turning away to track the scent. This would take longer, the fawn were rare at this time and would certainly be protected by a mother. After what was appearing to be a hopeless hunt the hunter finally picked up the faintest of scents and with silent steps she took off after it. As it got stronger she got slower until she was crawling through the bushes to remain hidden. She only stopped when she finally spotted the fawn with its mother, both grazing. As she shifted slightly the doe's head shot up, ears swiveling back and forth. Lady held her breath, awaiting for her moment to strike. Moments after the mother's head went down, she took it. Using the built up pressure from her back legs the small wolf leapt from her hiding and took chase. Her plan? Weaken the fawn, and that was exactly what she did, using learned tactics. Then it was slowed down; it was then that she took the chance, grabbing its neck with her jaws she pulled the fawn to the ground and held tight until the final breath escaped the small deer. Well aware she needed to head back Lady took a moment to relax as her pants grew heavy from the workout. Not daring to waste more time she grabbed her catch and began the tedious task of dragging it back.
