Trust nobody but make them trust you.
I give them my false smiles do what ever it takes but my actions
display only a shadow of my true self. I lust not for love only for power.
If I were ever to choose a mate it would be for his strength and not my
love for him for I love nobody. A fight is not finished until you tuck your
tail between your legs and flee. If my life is at risk I will flee but I swear
I will have my revenge someday. I know nothing but you know even less.
-Your false friend Astra
As soon as the words that Astra had been waiting for left Tysons lips she increased her tempo. It was what she had been expecting, there was no other prey around so her suggestion was the best bet they had that morning. As she had already angled her paws in the right direction in anticipation of an answer like the one she had received all she had to do now was move in that direction which she did at a brisk trot. No time to loose, the deer were near enough the edge of the packs territory, she did not want to risk them wandering over the border. Sure the wolves could follow but they might be faced with some competitors once off their packs land. Lone wolves if there were any about would certainly want a try at taking down the deer or at stealing a bit of meat after the pack wolves took the prey down.
As they grew nearer to the spot where the trees would soon give away to the small clearing where Astra had spied the deer herd earlier that day there was still no sign of deer. If they had moved in this direction there would be hoof prints in the snow but here there were only the swallow indents made by some sort of bird. The deer were either still in the clearing or they had moved off a little towards the border which was alright as long as they didn't cross the invisible line between pack land and no mans land. The delta extended her stride to cover more ground intent on reaching the clearing as soon as possible, what was the point in strolling at a leisurely pace anyway? Speed made being in motion more fun and anyways they would have to take it slower on the way back to carry the prey back to camp, if they were successful that was.
Astra was so intent on covering ground at quickly at possible she would not have noticed Tyson stepping into a rabbit hole if it had not been for the lack of sound. One moment there was the sound of two sets of paws crunching the snow beneath their pads then there was only one belonging to the ebony she-wolf herself. She slowed to glance over her shoulder in time to see her alpha chest deep in the fluffy white substance which was snow. At first she wasn't sure what had happened so she just came to a halt and turned around to watch the male. By now his head had gone under into the snow and only when it reappeared with the frozen bodies of two skinny little rabbits with near to no meat on them did she realize what had happened. A rabbit hole, hard to see in the snow she thought feeling no pity for the two unfortunate creatures who had died within the so called safety of their own home.
Burnt sienna orbs watched as the brute carried both of the frozen bodies towards her and then dropped not just one but both of them at her feet. Really Astra did not want to waste any time and sure the offer was generous but right now all she cared about was deer. "Oh I'm alright thanks, I already had fish earlier that's enough to keep me going" she made sure to remain polite while she declined the offer. The pitch black fae stooped downwards gathering both of the carcasses between her jaws, she would carry them and bring them back to camp anyway. A deer wouldn't be enough for the whole pack to be full from someone would not get enough and be glad to have the rabbits as measly the amount of flesh on them was, it was still something and in winter nothing could be wasted. The delta clamped her jaws firmly around the prey and then she was off once more towards the clearing. Just another minute or two even the thought made her excited for the thrill of the hunt. As they neared the clearing the female slowed to a walk "We're almost there now" she whispered using her nose to point towards where they would find the clearing and hopefully the deer.

[Name:Pekoe][Gender:Male][Rank:Security Wolf][Crush:None yet][With:AnnaBeth]
"Love me, hate me
whatever you do
don't get on the
wrong side of me.
No friends, no foes
just acquaintances
who don't bother
me with their woes."
-Pekoe
It had been a long time since Pekoe had last heard a wolf laughing this much, usually the other wolves in the pack were too busy or too afraid to be so light-hearted. He could not even recall a time where he himself had ever laughed so much, as a pup he hadn't been a serious wolf he had been the observant type always curious so he was usually quite not speaking just watching what was going on only sometimes pestering the others around him with questions. Just when the dark grey male was beginning to wonder if it would ever end the sound slowly changed from full on laughter to just a giggle and then that too faded leaving a brightly smiling she-wolf. Now he could see Beth looking down at her paws looking rather embarrassed and he could understand why, just bursting out laughing for no apparent reason that was something that himself and probably numerous others might find to be a little weird.
Pekoe listened careful as the fae explained her random outburst of laughter, it made a little sense he guessed. Catching fish now had brought back that old memory to her. Her voice faded slowly until all that was left was a mere whisper, to hear the last few words the security wolf had to prick his ears and listen carefully. She was right there he didn't really care, that was her past and it had nothing to do with him really. Sure if it was something more interesting he might have cared more but not this. Best to excuse himself and head back to camp now, the fish had been consumed and he didn't fancy the idea of standing here attempting to make conversation much longer. He could stick making polite small talk for a while but he never enjoyed the task.
AnnaBeth spoke before he did, Pekoe was ready to give a nod of agreement and head off but the female was looking up at him as if she had something else to say. He was right, she spoke once more making the offer of them doing their tasks together. Huh? that confused the male a little, his cold and sometimes almost unfriendly attitude made other wolves make excuses to get away and not spend any more time than necessary with him so why would this huntress want to do the opposite? Well he actually had an honest response to this offer "There's already two wolves out checking the borders so I was just going to head back to camp see if there's anything else for me to do". The scent of the pair was still blown towards his nostrils by the wind but it was not as strong as before, the two wolves had traveled further away from the river where himself and AnnaBeth stood. The sound of a birds wings flapping over head momentarily distracted him from the wolf in front of him, blue orbs glanced upwards to see a blue jay uttering a call to some other nearby bird. Nothing of interest to the brute.

[Name-Meera][Gender-Female][Rank-Security Wolf][Crush-None][With-Bow]
Whatever you may tell me I'll believe it.
It doesn't take much to win my trust. Hurt me? I'll
forgive you, I don't hold grudges. I'll flirt with you
but that doesn't mean I love you.
Up until now Meera had not been paying much attention to her surroundings but the sound of a birds call louder than the rest had her olive orbs gazing upwards. Now she took in the bare branches of the trees seeing only the bottom half of the branches due to the angle and not the upper parts which in some cases had thin layers of snow resting on them just waiting to be knocked by the breeze or a bird to fall on an unsuspecting creatures head. What she could see were the birds, perched here and there on the branches a few looking back down at the wolves others too busy singing to their fellows and the occasional icicles clinging to the bottom of branches with their sharp tips making them look like mother natures daggers but they were nothing compared to a wolfs teeth they were too fragile. Apart from the trees there was nothing much to look at the ground was just an endless mass covered by a layer of white which was snow. Well enough of looking at the scenery, just a few moments had made it clear that Bow was more interesting to look at than their bleak surroundings.
Meera's pale green eyes were looking back at Bow in time to see the pleased grin on his face as he thanked for for the compliment she had given him a few moments earlier. The male looked a little surprised but in a good way, it made the cream hued she-wolf happy to see that it was always nice to make others a little happier. Before she could answer she was interrupted by the loud squawk of what could only be a crow from a tree directly overhead. Those damn birds are way too loud the alabaster fae thought glancing upwards to see the bird shape of the bird perched high up on a branch. They were annoying creatures but there was no use in getting worked up over it, there was nothing she cold do. Crows could fly and wolves could not so there so no way she could reach the bird and even if she could it was a waste of energy just for a bit of quietness.
Realizing that it was best just to ignore the pesky crow Meera turned her attention back towards Bow. The earlier smile had almost faded from his lips and he seemed to be concentrating on something else. The ecru female sniffed the air hoping that would reveal to her what the males attention was on and indeed it did. The scent of her own kind filtered into her nostrils but the scent lacked the familiar odor of her pack. That could only mean one thing loners and more than one or so her nose told her anyway. When the brute spoke she gave a nod speaking a little quieter than before in case the other wolves were in earshot "Yeah, two or three loners I think?". They were probably not on the packs territory but they would definitely have to go and check, hopefully these wolves wouldn't be looking for trouble, Meera didn't fancy the idea of a fight. Better to think of them as potential new pack mates and friends rather than enemies for now.
