coldgaze's tail flicked as she watched ripplestar pad into the apprentices den. from within, she could just barely hear the grumbles of the apprentices, roused from their dreams. the warrior gave a small chuckle, shaking her head at ripplestar's methods. she had to admit, though, that they generally worked. when the leader exited the den, coldgaze dipped her head, nodding in polite greeting to the other female. the warrior had been awake for some time, meandering about, and with the apprentices being awakened there were bound to be patrols soon. of course, there couldn't be much hope for hunting in this dreary weather. coldgaze's nose wrinkled at the thought, her eyes flickering down to the mushy ground beneath her paws before turning to the sky. the scent of rain was in the air, and though there didn't seem to be anything more than a light drizzle at this point in time, the young warrior felt sorry for any unlucky sap that may end up caught out in the cold, wet rain.

Larkpaw had simple dreams, that of his mother, his father. They were never sad, only sweet memories that reminded him they were gone. For a tough cat he was meant to be, showing such weakness might not be the best. He was about to feel the cold grasp of the forest floor holding his paws when a slight nudging noise woke him. He rolled his brown pelt over and stared up into their leader, her blue eyes glowing with joy. Before a word escaped his mouth the ginger she-cat had moved on to the next apprentice, Spiderpaw. Her words blurred into a sentence when he realized, test? Larkpaw shot up quickly and smoothed his brown pelt, running his rough tongue over any messy patches. He looked to the apprentice beside him and smiled, ❝come on Spiderpaw! You might become just become a warrior today!❞. The small apprentice was too excited for his usual joker personality. If he passed a test he was on the way to warriorhood. His paws lead him to pound from his most nest, leading him to the center of camp. The excited apprentice sat down, wandering what to do now.

Oakfall's light brown to ginger pelt was sitting still, the occasional rise with his breath. His eyes were open but he wished to stay in the den, not wanting to face the outside world today. But with his duty he promised an awake warrior would rise, and so he did. He dipped forwards and stretched his back, returning to his standing position. The warrior opening his mouth and revealed his ivory teeth, the sun shining on them this fine morning. A yawn escaped his open jaws, and he proceeded out the den hole and into the world like every other day. He opened his light green orbs and turned them to his deputy, his slender build sitting beside the fresh-kill pile. Oakfall dipped his head in a fluid movement, moving forwards towards the light colored tom. When his paws reached the ground near where the deputy sat, he hunched back on his hind quarters. ❝Are you concerned we do not hunt enough? Even my eyes see the dwindling❞. His old and reserved personality was dimmed when near someone he respected or trusted, one being Pebblefoot.

Her green orbs opened to the sight of herbs, the smell even lingered in her nose. It was harsh but with moons living with such smell, she had learned to ignore it. The white and grey she-cat could not see her apprentice, but this did not worry her, the male was probably awake. She stetched out on her side, muscles slapping into place or waking up. She smiled briefly before standing, shaking her pelt off casually. Moss and dirt was usually caught amongst her pelt, and it never looked good. She ducked her head outside, checking any available warriors or apprentices. She had planned to search the forest to restock, her herbs were nicely stocked but it was always okay to have more. She saw the light colored deputy and a ginger tom, most likely Pebblefoot and Oakfall. She squezzed back in her den, opening her orbs to look through the supplies of herbs. poppy seeds, possibly catnip and dock , a mental list of what was in need. Those particular piles seemed smaller than the others, and she best fill them up.

palepaw rolled sightless blue eyes at the grumbling voice of pebblestep as he padded into camp, a bundle of fresh herbs in his mouth. he skirted around the deputy and oakfall as he passed, willing them not to notice him. see, the medicine cat apprentice had gone out of camp. alone. again. palepaw often had a habit of doing this, had done so since he'd become an apprentice. and yet, everyone seemed to wish to coddle him, what with his being blind and all. rolling those cloudy blue orbs again, the pale apprentice pushed his way into the medicine den, greeting fawnstep with a muffle "hullo" though he couldn't see the female, his heightened sense of hearing allowed him to pinpoint her location in the den easily. setting the bundle down at the she-cat's paws, palepaw had enough sense to appear contrite for leaving the camp without an apprentice or warrior at his side. "i ah, picked up some catmint, fawnstep. i noticed this morning we were running a bit low, and with the weather getting colder i figured we'd need it?" as was often the case with palepaw, his sentence ended as more of a question, rather than the statement it was meant to be. the apprentice wrapped his tail around his paws, waiting to hear what his mentor would say.

→ LIONTAIL is woken by the gradual stirring and shifting of her fellow warriors. Yawning, the golden-colored she-cat delicately picks her way through the sea of rising and falling flanks, mumbling apologies and good mornings along the way. Finally, as she emerges into the sunlight, Liontail pushes her front paws forward and curls her tail above her head in a luxurious stretch. The soft earth feels uncomfortably wet today, and soon her pelt feels thick with moisture. A rain is coming today, no doubt about it. Liontail pads noiselessly to the fresh-kill pile, dipping her head in greeting to Ripplestar as she passes her clanmate. She allows herself a soft chuckle at the sight of the eager apprentices trailing out of the den, reminiscing to her days of boundless energy like theirs.

→WOLFHEART quietly weaves his way around the other sleeping warriors, padding out into the dim, dawn-lit camp. He always has woken with the sun, considering it to be the best way to rise in the morning. Why not get up with the light? When the brown tabby warrior had already gathered some prey, most of the camp was awakening. Wolfheart trots into camp, stretching his stiff legs gratefully. The air is thick with moisture and his long pelt seems to soak up every bit of it. Uncomfortably, he heads out into the forest to hunt a little.

Appearance: Dewstar is an incredible large cat with a slender, graceful build, complete with long, strong legs, a slender head and an overall streamline physique. His paws are small and quick and his is long, tapering to a tip at the end. His coat is very short and smooth, mainly ticked silver with darker spots. The tom's muzzle, neck, chest, belly, hind legs, tail tip and a blaze on the bride of his nose are white as well. White whiskers, a peachy nose, large, alert ears and glassy teal eyes complete this feline's look.

Nestled comfortably beneath a rock's ledge, a small she-cat lay, tossing restlessly about. Sleep had seemed to allude her most the night, and when it did, she dreamed of things she couldn't much remember. Nevertheless, they left her struggling awake, gasping for breath. Amber eyes slowly fluttered open as Sunpaw heard movement about the clan. The young cat yawned widely, stretching out her paws and blinking slowly up at the rock roof above her head, idly wondering how early it was that cats were already waking up. Rising to her paws and leaning back into a full body stretch, the apprentice slowly made her way into the open air, blinking once again at the dramatic switch in lighting. The first thing she noticed was Ripplestar, making her way towards the freshkill pile with a slight bounce in her step. Ah yes, today was the day one of the apprentices was to be tested, wasn't it? With any luck, Spiderpaw would pass with flying colors, earning her warrior name. For a moment, the she-cat wondered what her Medicine cat name would be. Sunleaf perhaps? Or maybe Sunsong after her mother. Sundapple could be another option, after her father, though she wasn't sure she would enjoy the passing down of a name from a cat she had barely known. Which ever name she was to be given, she knew it really wasn't her place to choose. That was her mentor's duty. With a new bout of energy, the young apprentice quickly scrambled from the dens opening, noticing Larkpaw first. She wasted no time in making her way over to him, excitement clear in her eyes. "So today's the day, huh?" She questioned, taking a seat next to him and temporarily ignoring the rumbling in her belly. She could eat later- for now, she wanted to be apart of the special ceremony that was to take place today.

L E T ' S  S T A R T  W I T H  T H E  B A S I C S

Name : : She was named Shadowkit when she was born due to her black-splotched tortoiseshell pelt, and currently she is Shadowpaw, her title representing her apprentice status. 

Warrior name : : When she becomes a warrior she wants to be named Shadowflame in honor of her fiery personality, as well as the splashes of bright orange on her coat. 

Age : : She is currently ten moons old.

Gender : : She is most definitely a she-cat.

D I G G I N G  D E E P E R

Appearance : : She is a medium-furred she-cat with a tortoiseshell pelt, along with black and ginger markings and amber eyes. She is quite small-framed and very lithe, with relatively short legs as well; this build helps her with hunting quite well, but leaves her battle skills at a disadvantage. She has small creamy-white paws, with the same colored fur on her chest and the length of her belly, but the color darkens and tapers off sharply to a pitch-black at her tail. 

Distinct markings : : She has a prominent bright orange marking on her flank, near her left hind leg. Much to her chagrin, the fur framing her face is still kitten-soft, and hasn't quite matured to properly sleek fur yet. Her ears are tufted slightly with black strands of fur. She currently has no scars. 

Personality : : • Daring • Playful • Outgoing •

Daring: Despite her size, it's pretty hard to find a cat braver than Shadowpaw; she is an utter daredevil. She loves hosting competitions with the other apprentices in the Clan, ranging from "who can catch the most prey" to "who can climb the highest tree without falling first". She enjoys challenges and laps up her various assessments with pride and guile, and wakes up every morning bounding to her mentor, demanding an early training session. She aims to be the best warrior she can be, and so far she's pretty sure she's reaching her goal.

Playful: Shadowpaw does have her more solemn moments, but mostly she is playful. She is, in short, a social butterfly. She detests being alone and will feel uncomfortable or even scared if she is in a situation in which she is completely on her own. 

Outgoing: Shadowpaw is quite outspoken; she voices all of her opinions and her thoughts aloud, to the point of seeming completely blunt. She has a very carefree personality, and it is hard to catch her feeling angry or depressed. She is also very friendly and considers the whole Clan as her sisters and brothers. As I said before, she enjoys hosting competitions, but also likes playing and joking around with her Clanmates, and can go so far as to even chat amiably with the Clan leader. 

History : : Shadowpaw's mother and father weren't even properly mated; Duskymoon, her father, was supposedly in a relationship with another she-cat in the Clan, but after that unknown she-cat died of an illness Duskymoon began courting Shadowpaw's mother, Swallowbreeze. Shadowpaw and her littermates were completely a mistake, the result after a night's indulging. Duskymoon soon after was killed in battle with a fox, and Swallowbreeze completely broke down. Shadowpaw and her brother and sister were born nearly a quarter moon early, but Swallowbreeze died during the kitting.

Shadowkit (as she was known then), Brightkit, and Applekit were named by the medicine cat who delivered them. Brightkit and Applekit caught greencough and passed away after they reached their first moon, and therefore Shadowpaw barely has any memories of them; perhaps the faintest whiff of a milky scent, and the brush of a fluffy kitten pelt against hers, but otherwise nothing. She was raised by practically every other cat in the Clan save for her real mother, and is little deterred by the deaths of her littermates and parents as she does not remember them.

Family : : Duskymoon her father - an over-flirtatious, careless tom with a white pelt with dark gray tabby stripes. Swallowbreeze her mother - a tortoiseshell she-cat with green eyes who was wooed by Duskymoon and gave birth to kits while she was barely out of apprenticeship. Brightkit her sister - a tortoiseshell she-kit just like Shadowpaw. Applekit her brother - a ginger tomkit. All have died under various circumstances.

Offspring : : Shadowpaw is currently too young for that.

Love interest/mate : : None.
