Pearl dashed away from the sight where the two rogues gossiped, her ears flattened against her head. Morons, they're just reckless slobs. They'd rather get hurt killing someone than live as peacefully as they can. She reached another alleyway, leaping onto a wooden crate. Her snow white fur always stood out in the darkness of the streets, quickly giving her away if someone was after her. She looked down at her paws, sinking her claws into the crate. As few have said before, I am a peaceful heart, not a killer.

She raised her head, her blue eyes sweeping around the area cautiously. Is someone else here, or am I on my own? She thought, flicking an ear as she curled her tail over her paws. If there was someone around, she didn't care whether she looked threatening or not, she just wanted to get by, peacefully.

Bear rolled his eyes at Owl, flicking his tail. Well don't you have a pride? I suppose it's too big to swallow... But hey, I suppose I'm not better. He was tempted to say those words out loud, but decided to keep it to himself. He narrowed his eyes at the rat, muttering. "Pathetic little creature... It should know that cats are a threat. They have brains the size of a flea." He looked into the shadows, smirking as he caught the scent of a rat. "In fact..."

The massive tom snuck towards the rat, as quietly as he could, and sprung, slamming a gigantic paw on it's spine. With a slight pained squeak, it became motionless. Bear picked up his prey and ate it, then returned over to Owl, swiping his tongue over his lips. He said in a sarcastic tone of voice, "Excuse my appearance..." He smirked slightly, mocking Pearl's polite attitude.

Aspen

Huh. Tough. Actually, not so tough. The two rogues hasn't noticed her presence. Her tail twitched as Bear slammed his large paw onto a rat. Pathetic creatures. She crouched down and sniffed the air, her nose twitching slightly. The musty scent of dog made her nostrils flare. Dog!She almost fell off her garbage can. Suddenly, her head felt light and dizzy. The world seemed the whirl in front of her eyes. Dog... Dog...
And she was back in the alley, with a kit version of herself struggling to climb a metallic pole while her dear brother was being slowly torn apart by massive, drooling jaws. She cleared the thought out of her mind and felt a rush of anger towards the dog scent. Revenge was the only thing on her mind now. She sniffed the air again. Hmm. Smells like a pug. Aspen had been in plenty of tussles, often winning. Her cleverness and unusually long claws gave her the often edge of a back alley brawl. The pug stunk of twolegs, which meant it was probably a... pet. She scowled as a small pug ran around, yapping loudly and whining excitedly around the alley. It chased its tail, wrinkled face tipping happily. She flattened her ears to the soft pitter of tiny feet as it happens and barked and ran everywhere. They must have evolved from rocks.

Squelch. Squelch. Scarlet trudged through the tall grass in the backyard of an abandoned human's house. She paused for half a moment to pull her paw out of the mud. After a few violent tugs, it came free with a sickening sucking sound, and she shuddered. Uggh, this is horrible.

Scarlet peered out in front of her with an obvious scowl on her face. She thought that this would be a good place to cross, what with its overgrown stalks and overall dim lighting to hide in, but she didn't factor in all of the mud. She could hardly walk, and she got stuck every few places. She glanced to her side; Anugis didn't seem to have a problem with all of the sludge, which annoyed her greatly. That's not fair! He's like, twice my size! He should sink!

It appeared that Anugis had caught Scarlet's eye, because he turned his head to slightly to look at her questioningly. "Is there something wrong, little one?" His concerned deep baritone voice lightened her mood slightly, but she still replied in an annoyed tone, "Do we have to walk through here off all places? I can hardly move!"

Anugis raised a brow at her complaint. You were the one that we suggested that we walk through here...

Anugis angled his head so that he was looking straight ahead, and then replied in an amused tone. "I can always carry you if it's such a problem." Almost immediately, Anugis heard her indignant retort. "I'm fine, thank you!"

Even if he couldn't see her reaction, he could still practically see her kittenish fur fluff out like a puffball. Though, Anugis could see where she was coming from; it was hard to walk here. He had to spread out his paws every time he set them down just so he wouldn't sink. Not to mention, it's awkward walking this way. But, this was the fastest way into the city; if they went around the backyard, it would be nightfall before they got there.

To his relief, Anugis could see the stone barrier leading into the alleyways just up ahead. He flicked his tail in satisfaction, and turned to Scarlet. "Come on, it's just a few more fox-lengths," he mewed. He could see the young cat visibly brighten, and they both started to pick up their pace.

A few moments later, Anugis approached the barrier with Scarlet close behind. The ground near the stone wall was thankfully more stable, so when Anugis jumped onto the barrier, he didn't have much of a problem. As he landed on the top of the wall, he looked around briskly, and then flicked his tail for Scarlet to come join him on top. He turned back to her and saw her jump, and caught her by the scruff of the neck when she missed the ledge.

Anugis hauled her onto the top like he had done this a hundred times; quickly and easily. Which was the case; he lost count of how many times he had to do this. He sat Scarlet down beside her, and straightened up when he heard a dog barking close by. Too close for comfort.

Anugis looked to the side to the source of the noise, and saw a small pug turning the corner into the alley where they were in currently. He could hear its high-pitched yapping grow in frequency, and his sensitive ears started to hurt. He growled in annoyance.

{{Just so you know, Scarlet is 8 moons old, and Anugis is 26 moons old. It says so in their bio.}}

Aspen

Aspen flicked her good ear to greet Anguis an Scarlet, immediately flattening it back after. Stupid pug. She hissed at the pug and growled angrily. The pug continued and run around, now chasing its stubby tail. A pink tongue lolled out from its mouth, blowing in the wind. Well, I hope he bites his tongue off. She gave the small dog a glare. Aspen itched to go out and beat that dumb little fur ball up, but knew she risked being caught by the Catcher. If, of course, that flea-brained thing's owner calls the Catcher. The Catcher was an infamous twoleg hunter who caught pesky strays ( dogs and cat alike ) and hauled them to a twoleg den brimming with small metal cages. He would then lock them up and feed them only small, tiny bowls of old, dusty dry pellets and give them only small barely bowls of metallic water to drink. She shivered at the thought.

Anugis, just now noticing Aspen's presence, looked down at her and acknowledged her with a flick of his tail. Next to him, Anugis could see that Scarlet had noticed the tan-colored she-cat as well, and brightened visibly.

Turning his attention back to the pug, Anugis felt his hackles raise in annoyance. He debated on just running off the dog, but he thought better of it, seeing that it would attract unwanted humans. I could always just go down there and threaten the stupid thing...

A few moments later, Anugis could hear a nearby yowl of a human. Fortunately for it, the mutt seemed to recognize the sound, as it stopped abruptly in his barking with a sneeze, and turned to the opening of the alleyway. Anugis could see the form of a young human kit rounding the corner, and the pug's backside started to wriggle like crazy. The mutt started to whine happily as the human came in sight, and waddled to it faster than Anugis thought was possible for dogs of that size.

When the pug reached the human kit, it promptly picked the dog up, and left, just like that. While Anugis was happy to see the dumb mutt leave, he was a bit confused as to why it was running freely like that. A dog that size unattended in the city would get ripped apart by both cats and dogs alike. And that was just for being in the alleyways.
