Mothpaw sighed, and decided he needed to get up. Where would his mentor be on this sunny day? He plodded out of the apprentice's den and into the middle of the camp. He first took a cursory look around the entire camp, but without any luck, he took a better look. Lots of cats, all the time, in and out of the camp. They were always busy, even if they were just busy sleeping. The cats did things all the time. "Whispertail! he called, trying not to be too loud as to wake any elders or kittens.

Bentley's ears flicked as the leaves rustled. The scent here of cat was strong, and he could smell the same smell radiating from the one in front of him. It had to be small, he could feel the tiny pawsteps barely puncture the ground. He took one step back and stood his ground. He was a fairly large cat, and he could take on any others, especially this tiny one. The cat yelled and he was taken aback. It sounded like.... a kitten? He was surprised when the tiny little cat jumped into him. This was a tiny cat! It was only a mere kitten. He smiled politely, but it didn't reach his eyes. He wasn't fond of kittens, he had never been the fatherly type. I am Bentley. Who are you? Where are your parents?" He didn't want to interrogate the kitten on all of the different cat smells, but there were a wide variety of fresh smells, and he knew this kitten had to have a family. He sighed slightly, for this wasn't actually a pack of cats, it was probably just a family. That didn't mean they weren't hostile, though, Bentley knew most families in the forest were. There was a lot to look out for, so they were hostile with good reason. The way the kitten had approached him showed that his family could very well be training him to fight at an early age. He hoped this was not the case.
