(What are we talking about? cx If you're asking if the horses know each other yet, no they actually don't. Besides Cherokee and Final Fantasy, because there is something planned for them- otherwise the horses don't really know each other c: If you have any questions regarding the plot, feel free to pm me about it ^^)

A brindle horse stood chest-deep in the river, a good distance away from being too deep, while also being a fair distance from the bank. Small pebbles rolled from the pulling waters by his hooves, getting their ragged edges smoothed into round surfaces, so perfectly crafted by the smooth water. Dallas lowered to his knees to let the rest of the ash float away, the clear liquid soaked through his coat to allow the grime to break loose and let him be more clean. He pulled himself further out, the water up to his withers and within a moment he ducked his head, plunging himself into the water, now fully under with his hooves still keeping a grip on the turning pebbles, and the stallion stayed under the surface without air until he was satisfied and lifted his head up, his face, head, and mane especially drenched, other than the rest of his body that were fully in the river. His dazzling eyes mirrored the sparks of the leaping flames, licking the great sky that held many smoldering clouds of smoke, not even showing a shard of glass-blue sky. He flickered his eyes around, giving a hint he understood her reply.
The burns on his stomach had a new pain, as if the water was like a million tiny needles stabbing him violently. Dead skin flaked off to reveal the more sensitive, hair-less protection that almost looked like a wolf pack had stripped him of his coat just there. It wasn't the looks that bothered him, but instead the rawness of his wound that would be cold through the night, despite the heated air from the tall fire, that almost reached as high as the most huge trees. Well, the fire would 'take care' of any trees in it's path, so soon it may destroy the entire collection that took many years to grow.
Dallas turned his head and looked to Secret, eying the herbs. What were they for? Dallas had no idea about the mare's talent in healing, heck, he didn't even know her name. It was about to ask her.
With his breathing now calm and was as if he hadn't run so long with his injuries and the flames licking his heels. No dent remained in his breaths, no more struggling, he had caught his breath and his lungs were now moving the healthy way they always did, nice and smoothly. "May I ask, what is you name?" He questioned, stepping towards her but still with space between them. He bowed his head to her, introducing himself most formally, lifting his head and giving her eye-contact. "I am Dallas." He said, beginning to wonder if this mare knew the meaning of it.

Elusive Secret

As the stallion was washing himself of the ash, Secret lay down, relaxing as she stared nonchalantly at the flames which surrounded then. She could do nothing about him until they could step out the water, so there was nothing she would do now but wait. He seemed to be breathing well, though, so Secret knew that meant he had no internal injuries. Good.

Dallas, the stallion's name was. Not that Secret really cared, given that she wouldn't be using it much. She never really talked, after all. It was a normal habit of hers, cultivated by her mother, to not need to speak unless necessary, but her feelings of needing to prove something increased that drive, till it was almost as if she was mute. He seemed polite now, but a name held power. She flicked her ears as he told her his name, and gave him a formal bow back, then lay down, continuing to wait as she watched the flames.

(Haha sorry. She's a little antisocial and forces herself to be mute.)

The stallion cocked his head to one side, flicking his tail that sent a few drops of water plunging down into the river, sending tiny ripples around them. He looked at the mare who he still had no idea what could possibly be her name, but offered a soft grin when she returned the bow. She seemed like she didn't talk much, and Dallas respected that. He moved to go next to her water sloshing around his legs. He whinnied gently to her before looking to the flames, that crept closer.
Dallas shook out his mane, the dribbles of water trickling down his face began to bother him so he cured his irritation by ridding the water, or at least most of it, and then looked to the flames. He clambered up onto the shore, water only up to his ankles, and stared at the glittering flames in the distance. How many animals would be deprived of homes? What would be the number of those seriously injured? Killed? Dallas had come close to being crushed by a large tree, whose trunk was coated in fire and came tumbling down, grazing his tail. It was the same tree he was forced to soar over when it had fallen, burning on its side, and had caused his stomach burn. Of course, his burn was not too bad considering how many animals were much worse off. His lip trembled at the thought of screeches, high and low, from mice to owls, to wolves to deer, to horses. Everything had been packed within the now burning forest, and no the animals had nothing more to breath but the thick smoke and only two options now; survive, or don't. They all seemed to choose survival, but there was no guarantee all would get that. Luckily, Secret and Dallas looked like they had gone through the worst of it, but you could never be sure with fires. Dead, brown straw-like grass burned as fast as a horse could gallop. While fresher, healthier grass burned quite slowly, sometimes even not at all. How knows if this fire would spread or not? The brindle stallion hoped to his heart that the fire would end by dawn. Hopefully it would even disappear during twilight, when the stars would dance in a purplish sky. But really, would the stars be able to shine through the horrible blanket of smoke? Dallas shook the thought from his mind, flicking his tail once more. He turned and sun back into the river, going shoulder-deep while his eyes still gazed at the flames, then transferred to the sky.

Elusive Secret

As he grinned and returned to doing his own thing, Secret's ears perked, the mare a little amused and relieved that he didn't ask any more. He seemed to respect her choice, which made her relax a little. He didn't seem that bad. Lying down, Secret counted her herbs silently, wondering how long they would last. She was only able to grab a mouthful, so it wouldn't last long.

She looked at the forest with a sigh, thinking of all the herbs that were being burnt. She lay near the bank, with the top of her tail just above the water, watching the flames almost defensively. When they came too close, she flicked her soaked tail, sending a wave to douse the flames. She didn't really feel like moving, and it was really the least she could do.

Looking at the stallion, whom was watching the sky, Secret relaxed, far more than she had in another horse's presence for a while, and as her mismatched eyes watched the sky get filled with smoke, she let out a soft snort. She used her hooves to pile up the rocks on the riverbed, creating a rise, before resting her head on it so she could breathe whilst she took a nap. It wasn't as if she could do anything right now. With the stallion beside her, she knew if anything happened he would react, which would wake her. Funny as it was, she kind of trusted him, though she wouldn't let anyone know that.

I was thinking we could do a little time skip to where all the horses [the 'special' ones] have gathered together deciding on what to do, and ranks are given out? if you guys are okay with that, then we can, and I will gladly start c:)
