Divided We Stand (A Packs Roleplay, OPEN and ACCEPTING)

With the bleeding stopped, Amara stepped back from the brute. Her body language was still tense, but her ears flicked forward as Tanga spoke, posing the white elephant of a question. The skinny dove attempted to step backwards to give herself more space, beginning to feel out of place again, but as she moved her leg muscles tensed, becoming hard to control. Wrinkling her dark muzzle in distaste, partially exposing bright fangs, she twisted to slink behind Tanga, working hard to resist her limp. Of course.

A little grin flickered over Roans face at the tone of her voice, the streaks of mud over his features having loosened enough to show faint bits of the glowing gold highlights beneath. "I was being rather foolish," he shook his head slightly, a small note of a laugh slipping from his lips as he raised his good paw to gesture vaguely at his shoulder, "Obviously. There was a little buck out in the woods and I thought I could tempt it into charging at me, just to see if it would rather than running. It took a while, but eventually it did, and repeatedly too." he shook his head again, the retelling of his accident striking home just how reckless he had been in that moment. "It got me on the third charge, and the tip of the antler broke off when we tried to go two separate ways at once; him back to the woods, and me falling into a muddy spring." Roan's fern gaze lifted from his paw to the fea who was now stepping back from helping his wound cease bleeeding, a crooked little grin showing his white teeth in contrast to the dull brown of the mud he was speaking of, in spite of the small unvoiced growl that seemed to flicker over her features. This was really the same look that Lilu always wore in some sense or another after he behaved as such, and he couldn't help but let his ears flicker backwards minutely in a small hint of apology. "I'm sorry to be meeting you in such a state."

Tanga blinked, turning back to look at Amara. Her muscles must be bothering her again. She had some herbs that would help her relax, but Amara seemed not to want this loner to see her weaknesses. The shaman couldn't understand why, it wasn't like the brute could hurt her at the moment. But she kept her maw shut, focusing instead on the brute's story. "Kinda reckless," she almost laughed, considering it the understatement of the century. She hoped the baron never met Lia, the pair would get into altogether too much trouble. "Oh don't you worry about it, I'm just glad we found you." The brute seemed to be regaining strength, and she hoped he would be able to travel soon. While bears and mountain lions weren't common, they could still be a big problem, especially with all the hunters away. "How are you feeling?" she asked after that thought, Tanga glancing around. The scent of blood and fresh dirt had been covering up pretty much everything else, but she couldn't smell or hear anything dangerous around them. Yet.

"The berries have had taken effect I think," Roans husky voice was softer now, catching the tiny fea's glance around them, his own eyes falling to his bandaged shoulder as he again tried to flex his injured leg's paw. His jaw flexed again as his teeth clicked together faintly, gritting them once as a medicine-dulled pain throbbed in his shoulder. He could feel the strange warmth from the berries though, his head almost buzzing faintly with the pleasant feeling of warmth in his chest. With a short exhale he shifted once again, stretching out his gingerly-held foreleg to brush his toes against the chilled ground to help his balance as the rest of him stood. His cutting figure was unsteady for a moment, but he drew his injured leg back up carefully once he felt like he was standing solidly again. "I'm fine to walk, I think whatever you gave me has cleared my head enough for that." He felt a little like a giant beside either of them, eyes dancing with amused light as he looked down at them from a new height.

Amara came to rest slightly behind Tanga's shoulder, looking perhaps a little bit like a guard, if only she had the build for it. Instead, Roan could tell that Tanga was Amara's shield, and from behind the tiny fae, grey Amara became comfortable again. As he told his story, her fine brows raised subtly, and as Tanga remarked that the stunt had been kinda reckless, her eyes flashed with a hint of the same amusement from earlier, saying that she thought him more than "kinda reckless" and probably more than a little dumb. As she sat, eyes glowing, her body seemed stiff and uncomfortable, one leg jutting slightly out to the side.

Pale green orbs flashed happily at the loner's words, and Tanga nodded resolutely. "If you'd come with us then, I can clear out a spot for you in the medicine den - you'll have to rest for a little while to let that hole heal up," she explained, already turning towards the direction of camp. She hoped Amara would either ask her for some helpful herbs, or be able to make it back without.

Roan's ears flicked at the word 'hole', head tipping to one side ever so slightly as the small healer stepped into motion. His attention was then directed back to the slim grey dove, brows raising slightly as he offered a small smile to the silent beauty. He had not been influenced enough by both pain and the medicine to have missed her delicately attractive looks, even if they were at first a bit overshadowed by her weaker bearing. Dark paws stirred the rocks beneath him as he turned to follow the business-like fea, eyes lifting to scan ahead for the direction in which she was leading him. His progress was slow for the first few steps, but he soon regained his balance as his muscles loosened, making walking with only three of his toned legs easier, but still more of a task than he really liked when walking on such uneven terrain.

Tanga bounced along the little path at her regular pace, actually the same speed as the limping loner due to the difference in their stride lengths. It was times like these when Tanga really realized how small she was, and attempted to hold her head a little higher. Her coppery curls bounced with each step, tickling her sweet cheeks with each step, her hind paws flashing their snowy white when visible in front of her bushy coon tail. She realized then that no one had introduced themselves, and turned to look at the loner brute. Perhaps she should save the pleasantries for when they were safe in the med den.
