A slight quirk came to Roans lips, notched ear flicking in response to a hunting birds cry from somewhere above them as he drew his gaze back to the grey fea. The poppy seeds might have been taken just seconds before, but the earthy taste of them had woken his senses enough for his mind to stop slipping from his train of thought. He cleared his throat again, "Enjoying the day?" his husky voice was light in tone but still noticeably rough from his tension of the antler. While he was unsteady physically, he had never been one to miss amusement in someone else's gaze; being all too familiar with his own sense of unfailing humor.

((I don't know where on Earth Mirage went, should we keep going or wait?))

Amara's eyes flicked quickly back to the brute as he spoke to her, looking mildly surprised for just a moment. She watched the brute, gaze skeptical, then gave a shrug of her thin shoulders, the grey fur moving in the light to show just a hint of honey brown. Normally this color was overpowered by the black gradients on her face, ears, tail, and legs. The shrug said, simply, "It's alright." Then, instead of speaking, she pointed her muzzle to him, her eyes giving off a light that somehow easily communicated, "And you?" The spark of amusement came back to her eyes as she looked to his wound. She could guess this was not his best day.

((Just a bit of conversation couldn't hurt, but nothing more than a couple posts really))

Another quirk came to Roan's lips, eyes flickering with the dancing bit of laughter that was implied rather than given voice to. He couldn't say that he had ever met someone in such an off way, but he was well-versed enough with socializing to have come across those who were harder to tempt into talking. He found her silence, coupled with her obvious bit of amusement, endearing. "And mine?" Adjusting his injured leg carefully, and feeling the scrap of the antler against his muscle, a little wince ran across his mud covered features. "Positively delightful." his husky voice matched his ruefully crooked little smile, sarcasm implied more by the situation than the timbre of his speech. Eyes shifting from the black-accented fea to the small coppery one and back again; loners mind sleepily assessing. They had to be from the pack in the area.

Amara watched the brute, her black tipped ears perking forward to listen to his husky voice. Her eyes narrowed to follow his gaze as he looked between herself and Tanga. He was probably wondering where they were from. Truthfully, Amara never went close enough to the other pack members to carry much of their scent, and Tanga was constantly perfumed with the smell of herbs. The grey dove looked from Tanga and then to her own dark, skinny legs. She resisted all but the subtlest of wry smiles from her face, thinking what an awkward and threatless duo she and Tanga made - the smallest fae in history and the weakest. She understood how the brute could afford to be so at ease in the situation. She gave a slow nod in response to his comment. Of course this overly sunshiny brute was having a wonderful day. She looked at him, eyes calm, and looked at his wound. This is going to hurt, she thought.
((ok, sounds reasonable))

Tanga listened to the conversation, glad he was relaxing as the brute spoke with Amara. The poppy seeds must have taken effect. "I have everything I need to treat you here, taking you back to the med den would be too painful for you and too difficult for us anyways," she answered when he asked if there was a better place to treat him, a bit belatedly if anything. She reached her honeyed maw into her satchel, pulling out a jar of clear spring water and setting it down, before gently reaching forwards to press a paw to the brute's blood-stained chest. His muscles were tense still, but pliant enough for her to know this wouldn't hurt him nearly as much as it should. Taking hold of the end sticking out, Tanga tugged the antler and pushed his chest with a gentle firmness that could only come with being a medicine wolf. The bone was curved slightly, but she pulled it out without bothering the hole it had already made too badly, though blood was now flowing from the wound heavily. Unstoppering her glass jar, she carefully washed out the wound with spring water, before covering it in her marigold-cobweb bandage. "The bleeding will stop soon," she murmured, motioning for Amara to press her paws against the bandage while she retrieved something else from her satchel. "Juniper berries," she smiled, giving them to Roan. These will help with your breathing and help get your strength up. As long as you stay conscious, you'll be able to follow us to a place you can rest safely."

((Sorry for disappearing guys, I was just super tired :C Anyways, I have a funeral to go to this morning, won't be back for another few hours))

Amara watched closely as the shard of antler was expertly extracted from the brute's matted chest. Her dark muzzle wrinkled slightly in distaste. She watched as blood began to flow from the wound, and took the queue from Tanga to keep the cobweb and marigold bandage on the brute's injury. Stepping closer, Amara dipped her head and narrowed her eyes, ears flicking back with both concentration and nervousness. She was nervous to be so close to the brute, not because his eyes were so nice, no, Amara didn't have the time or rank to be so quickly charmed. She was nervous to be close to any wolf, her life-long Omega status and weakness had stunted her social skills at puphood. Thus, it was with nervous body language that Amara pressed her paws to the brute's chest, ears flicking back to listen to Tanga's voice for courage. With her ears back, sharp shoulders tense, and eyes narrowed, the bony fae looked a bit like she was flinching - it was her natural body language when she was close to any wolf.

(Oh, I'm sorry Mirage. :( I hope it wasn't somebody very close to you.))

Roans ears quivered slightly as his attention was taken again by the little copper fea, slanted almond shaped eyes narrowing slightly with his small frown at he considered her words. It wasn't that he was afraid of the antler being taken out, but he was sure that it would still hurt more than it had when it had originally gone in. He had been too full of adrenaline and too focused on his hunt to at first feel the real pain of it, but it was called quickly to the forefront of his mind as the copper dove reached for his chest without warning. Roan didn't flinch so much as tense slightly, even though he knew that it was probably the worse thing to do. The short snarl that slipped from his lips was harsh and filled with pain rather than anger, face a mud-crackling mask of displeasure as he quickly pulled in a gasp. His eyes blazed brighter now, a cue from the bit if adrenaline that had been woken up by the removal. Roan's bracing foreleg shivered as he swayed forward slightly, eyes still shut tight as he registered a change in touch against his bleeding wound. His breathing was a quicker kind of panting as he opened his eyes again, looking to the little grey dove for a split second before the copper fea as she gave him something new to take. Blinking as he struggled to stay present with his motions, he gave a little grunt in acknowledgement to her words, again shifting his weight around quickly to bring the small pawful of the berries to his lips. These didn't taste nearly as bad, and the tangy flavor of them gave him something else to focus on rather than the throb of his shoulder.

Tanga gave the brute an apologetic look, though her own eyes filled with a sense of pride as the bleeding slowed further. She put away the remainder of her herbs and medicines, glad she'd remembered the emergency satchel, and waited for the juniper berries to take effect. She wondered if she should have gotten him a stick or something to bite down on while she'd removed the antler, but it was too late to change it now. Better to just remember it for next time. "The berries will kick in soon, you'll feel a warmth spreading through your lungs and heart area once they take effect," she explained, not wanting the brute to freak out when he felt it. She could remember the first time she'd given Juniper berries to Lilith, the navy dove had nearly had a panic attack (NOT the desired effect).

Roan cleared his throat softly, nodding as he swallowed again. He had had some kind of berries like these from Lilu once or twice, but he couldn't be sure if they were the same kind. She hadn't even had a name for them when she gave them to him, that's how inexperienced as a healer she had been. But he knew she had gotten better and better with the more time they spent together, she probably knew their name now. He kneaded his free paw through the uneven soil beneath him, still shivering slightly as his muscles struggled to relax from their time spent tensed up for so long.

As blood finally stopped flowing through the marigold and cobweb press, Tanga seemed to relax just slightly. It was only then that she came to wonder.. "how in the world did you get that antler stuck in you anyways?" Her question, though spoken in her sweet soprano, was incredulous and almost humored. She'd never seen a wolf with antler pierced right into their body, though she had seen other things... She held back a shiver, the tiny fae instead focusing on the task at paw.
