Sparrow, with an internal sigh, gave Chief a reassuring smile; she would accept his words, if not his compliments- they confused her. And it would not do to put off a new member of the pack; that was not her intent. Instead she lifted her gaze to the stars as her paws walked in mud, a faint haze of leftover clouds overshadowing their pale light. "Have you found a den yet?" the huntress asked, feeling a slight breeze sweep through her as yet drying fur. "Or have you just been, exploring?" Her words softened at the second question, recalling his poetic description of the mountains. It made her want to rediscover her own homeland; it had been long since Sparrow had thought anything of the familiar territory as artful as that; instead it was the forests to the west and the shores to the east that attracted her wondering attention. Finch felt the absence of her warmth pressed up again him acutely, but it didn't dim his little ditty of a smile as he finally released her, shoulders tingling faintly. Faint amusement lingered still in his expression, tinged with a sort of resigned regret, as he could not escape the climbing moon. "I'd hate to keep you parents waiting any longer," Finch said ruefully, running a paw in an almost bashful motion through the back of his ruff. "Be sure to stop by sometime to show me with the finished project, though," with those words his grin had returned, looking forwards to seeing the finished craft as he always did; he and Opal had collaborated in the past once or twice, but he was especially proud of his work today.
