Welcome. We used to live here. A zoo. In captivity. We were fed, cleaned out, washed and cured by the perfect of zoo-keepers, yet no-one visited our zoo. These humans loved us, with all their heart but they had to leave. It was too expensive to carry on helping us, treating us with all the delicacies we didn't actually deserve, and they had no where to take us, so we were left. Alone. Abandoned in a tiny zoo, with no more food. No more love and care. No more attention. Just wolves. Us. Alone. In an empty zoo.
The other creatures would whimper daily, and all those who did, died. Only the strongest survived.
One night, one of our wolves scratched open the cage with pure hunger, releasing all the others and killing the first one they could find, instantly eating it, making sure no-one else received their meal. We were now free. All of us ran away, even though we knew we wouldn't survive out there, we did anyways.
So, the months past and us wolves had formed a pack. It was time. Time to return to our past. We traveled to the zoo, and stared at the place we used to live, knowing life would never be like that again. The pavements were mossy, with tons of weeds. The barbed wires which formed our cages were now beginning to show their age. There were more trees to use as shade now. The food many of us never finished eating was still there, rotting. Even some prey were leaping around eagerly. It would do.
Some of us immediately returned to our previous cage, whilst others took the chance to explore, gathering meals for the others.
It was time to turn our past into the future.
