Vi v i a n had settled at one of the streams, dipping her head down to help cool a parched throat. Then a shrill sound rang through the air, her ears swiveled forward and her head lifted, water dripping from her slightly droopy bottom lip. A scream, perhaps of death, perhaps of a severe wound, or perhaps in the worst of cases, a wound that would cause death... but not instantly. The thunder of hooves followed, yells here and there. Ever so quickly they gathered, mares, even one of the brothers rushed forward. Calmly she observed, Vivian wasn't much of a crowd seeking mare, in fact, if she could avoid a crowd she would. Perhaps they would clear soon and she would be able to evaluate the scene on her own, see what happened. But for now she turned and set off at an easy going walk, in the opposite direction. Her thick tail swished from side to side as she moved at her clunky and heavy walk.
The commotion slowly faded from her ears as she walked, but still she could hear. Ever so slightly. She could only imagine the flare of emotion swirling around the area. Anger, sadness, oh they were endless. Vivian glanced over her shoulder once, ears lifting again. Curiosity was biting at her, perhaps when she was younger she too would have given in to emotion and charged to the scene, but that was not the case. She took in a deep breath and continued on her way, she would know soon enough. Funny how word liked to travel faster than the wind itself.
