Phantom looked at the two mares curiously. Looking around, he stomped his foot, crushing a horsefly. "So.." He started, forgetting what he was going to say. Then he remembered," Well, I was wondering why you two beauties were alone."

►►History
Spartacus has been training to be a race horse at the age of two. The great grand colt of Secretariat he was expected to be a great racehorse. Winning his first 5 races at the age of three his owner thought it was time to kick his training up a notch. Every other day he was worked and every weekend he was raced against bigger stallions. Sure he won over half the races, but his owner still thought of him a worthless. When Spartacus was five years old he was put up against the best horses at the Preakness Stakes. He was able to get 3rd place and win some money. His owner later put him into the Kentucky Derby, this was the race that ended his career.

It was the finale legs of the race. Spartacus was in first and he was running his hardest. His jockey continued to push him, but the black stallion could no longer lengthen his stride and propel himself foreword. He felt a sharp pain in his front left cannon bone. He couldn't continue to run and he fell. His jockey jumped off him and the other horses paced. Fortunately the other horses had time to yield around them. Vets ran out as Spartacus stood back up slowly and weakly. He later was diagnosed with Bucked Shins and retired. He went through treatment, but the vets said he will never be able to race again. His owners let him go.

►►Personality
Spartacus is an honorable stallion that looks down on others and he always holds his head up high. He is brave and will rarely back down from anything which made him a good race horse. Due to his history as an ex-racehorse he has amazing stamina and speed. He sometimes bites more than he can chew and will become embarrassed easily. His honorable attitude will get in the way of what is really important to him. He will sometimes hurt others feeling without knowing.

Rapunzel was born at a breeding farm from two Hanoverian parents. She was going to be used for eventing however they lost her dam after Rapunzel was weaned at six months to colic. Saddened by the lost of a good mare they had Rapunzel take her place. At the young age of two they started using her as a broodmare. Every foal however ended in a miscarriage so she never had one. The stable no longer wanted her and she was sent to a rescue. The fence that held her in broke and that was her chance to escape.

►►Personality
Let's face it Rapunzel is a mare. Stubborn, uncooperative, and pushy the palomino is a nightmare. She is known to bite and should always be watched if your around her. She will try every trick in the book to get out of work. She tends to push other horses around when she wants something, but is somewhat gentle about it. She dislikes being alone and has some trust issues. However if anyone or anything is lucky enough to get to get close to her she is loyal and has a beautiful spark about her.

Once again, she said not a word. Kain merely gazed at him, staring straight forward at him. She knew the ways of the stallions and his last question was a good sign of it. It wasn't something she hadn't heard before and so it did not flatter her or relax her in any way. Instead, her ears pressed closer to her skull. And her muscles tensed in preparation for anything, should that mean running, fighting, walking away, etc. She never took her chances around these...other beings. She glanced over at Evangeline a little, watching out for her as well.

For what reason, she wasn't sure, but she did anyway. They'd waited out the storm together, so she found that she could at least trust the mare a little bit. That meant she'd alert her in the time of danger from anything around them or the stallion especially. Hopefully, she would remain attentive enough to caught it before she would have to.

Angel woke up from her nightmare, breathing heavily. She slowly blinked and trotted around for a bit, warbming up her legs for some galloping later on. She breathed in the sweet smell of the grass and dew in the morning and decided she should just go for a trot in the woods as she had nothing else better to do.

Crack. A noise far below sounded as a stone, dishevelled by a mis-step, tumbled to the flat ground, causing the very beast who sent it tumbling to twitch, startled. Here, at the peak of a steep and rocky hill, the wind blew hard and cold, as if it did not want a creature standing atop it. But there he was, silver and glinting in the fresh sunlight, gulping in cold air through his flared nostrils.
indentA dark brown pair of eyes were locked onto the astounding view before him. The stallion, standing tall and gazing out over the world, was young and thin, his muscles ached, and his head swam from looking over such a great distance, but he felt strong. Proud. He'd climbed this hill, all on his own, and now the earth had given him a gorgeous view in return.
indentThe colt was used to such views - it was a hobby of his to trek great distances just for a sight. But this was a vision of the world itself. The land stretched out before him like a great blanket, grass rippling in the breeze and water dancing with the gentle sunlight. Horses dotted the landscape, some of which he could identify, others who were strangers. It seemed as if everything that ever was, ever could be, and ever would be was stretching out in the expanse before him. Roran's throat rumbled as a nicker slid into the crisp air. This was quite the reward for a climb.
indentIf he could have, Roran would have stayed here at the peak forever. Oh, it was so peaceful... So relaxing... But there was little he knew about surviving on his own. The stallion, barely older than a colt, knew he had to return to the solid ground below. It was in his best interest that he stayed with the bachelor herd, after all.
indentOf course, he didn't have to go back right away. He had only just reached the top of the hill. His breathing was still heavy, and the view before him was still captivating. Besides, he wasn't too far from the bachelors - he'd made sure that each time he went exploring they were still close enough to scent nearby, though he could easily see them from atop this hill.
indent"I can stay here for a little while," Roran told himself, shifting on his feet so that the stones beneath his hooves no longer dug into his frogs. "At least until I catch my breath."
