Shrewnose watched as Frecklefoot had slightly smiled in response to his first sentence, before she had glanced over at the apprentices, perhaps wondering what they should teach them at the next training session. Shrewnose wondered if they should work on hunting, or fighting moves; while fighting moves were neccessary in battle, it would be one's hunting skill that would feed the Clan. Perhaps they could teach Breezepaw and Dovepaw both hunting and fighting skill, if there would be enough time. Shrewnose was looking forward to training the apprentices; for one, he did like to teach Breezepaw new moves, and to know that he was helping an apprentice on their path to becoming a warrior. Secondly, he did slightly enjoy getting to spend more time with Frecklefoot; the brown tabby tom wouldn't admit it, though, for fear of someone accusing him of going against the Warrior Code. Shaking his head slightly, Shrewnose blinked as he realized he hadn't been paying attention. Hoping that none of the three other cats had spoken, Shrewnose's gray eyes glanced at each one of them, trying to determine if he had missed anything.

The apprentice saw Breezepaw's small nod in reply to her words, his own way of responding. Dovepaw knew that Breezepaw was typically silent, and wondered for a moment if there were a reason for it. Perhaps it could be that he was just quiet, as her own mother had been, though still the curious Dovepaw wondered if there was more behind Breezepaw's silence. Either way, she still didn't mind, and was just glad that Breezepaw still responded to her. As she didn't have any kin presently residing in the Clan, she was just happy that there were some cats she could consider as friends. Dovepaw didn't really know what had happened to her family; they had left, but that was all she knew. Her parents had left, followed by her apprentice-aged sister. And Icekit- Icekit hadn't survived any more than moon or two. Realizing now that she was probably showing some sadness, Dovepaw left her thoughts behind, trying to act as if nothing had happened. I can't show any emotion; not love, not sadness, none of that; it would mean I really did care about my family. The apprentice told herself, before glancing back at her mentor to see if she would announce what they'd be doing today.
