The male hawk was gliding with ease through the fresh air. His dark feathers were gently swaying in the wind. Two almost black eyes were concentrated on a tiny brown creature was busily munching on some kind of food his prey ate. His altitude decreased as he passed the creature. The hawk carefully circled around after flying farther away. Now facing the creature, who he identified to be a mouse. With a few more silent flaps of his large wings, his speed was increasing and the mouse still hadn't suspected the hawk, swooping down, nearing the mouse closer to its death. The small light brown mouse lifted its head and dropped the seed, scampering as fast as its tiny paws could go, but it was all to late. In Ice's spearing claws, the mouse was crushed and torn on, as the hawk regained height.

female barn owl
calm
about three years old
alone
Under a cream and grey wing, a pretty barn owls head was uncovered. The female owl gently ruffled her feathers. She was atop a birch tree branch, the drone of the familiar waterfall, she visited often, in the near distance. Stretching her wings, she spread them wide and parted her beak in a quiet yawn. Adjusting her position her dark brown eyes became awake with alert. Hunger rumbled in her stomach, but she was too tired to take off to hunt yet. A chilled spring breeze blew her feathers around the wrong way uncomfortably and a shiver sent chills through her small body. With a long sigh, she spread her wings once again, revealing her white soft feathers, and extended her talons into a take off.
