Sandstripe
-Reedclan-Tom-Warrior-Apprentice: soon Bravepaw-With: Badgerclaw-
Sandstripe's ears flicked back at Badgerclaw's question. There had been signs of a new deputy being chosen, but as far as he knew there was no definite answer to his question. In Sandstripe's opinion, all of the cats in the clan were strong, and there were many who would make fine deputies, but he understood the elder's concern. The death of their previous deputy had been sudden, tragic, but the clan had come together during that time of despair. However, it had shaken them all. In fact, if Sandstripe's memory served him correctly, he hadn't seen Badgerclaw hardly at all since then. The old cat had since secluded himself in the elder's den, not talking to any of the warriors or apprentices since then. "I honestly can't say I'm sure," he mused after a moment's hesitation. "There are several cats I think it might be, but Morningstar hasn't really given any indication on who she will choose. Is something bothering you?" he asked, cocking his head to one side.
Ivyfoot
-Reedclan-She-Cat-Medicine Cat-Apprentice: Crystalpaw-With: Crystalpaw-
Ivyfoot trotted back into the camp, the damp earth around the riverside wetting the pads of her paws. She hadn't brought any herbs back with her this time around, but the mental map in her mind told her exactly where she could find what she needed. To her, it was almost more valuable to know where to find things rather than deplete their resources right away. She could hear her old mentor's voice in her mind, yapping at her to gather them while she had the chance, but so many of them were better fresh. However, now the role of Medicine Cat fell to her, and she got to choose how to run her practice. As long as the clan was well taken care of, she felt that it didn't matter how things got done. When she got back to the camp, she poked her head into the medicine den, seeing the small black apprentice patiently attending to her duties. "How are things here, Crystalpaw?" she asked. "The catmint plants near the gathering tree are still growing strong, and I found some chamomile near the Gorgeclan border. I haven't seen any for quite some time, so it was a nice surprise to find something like that."

Fogstep
-Gorgeclan-She-Cat-Warrior-Alone-
Fogstep gasped softly when Lynxstep announced Goldenstar's death. The leaders of Gorgeclan had always seemed so strong, so invincible, and even though she had seen them come and go, it still shocked her every time things changed. Perhaps she was too much a creature of habit to accept change quickly, and this one was more jarring than most. Lynxstep hadn't been with the clan for too long, and she was incredibly young. She had just been made deputy, and now she would be ascending up the chain of command. Will the rest of the clan accept her? Fogstep thought at once. She is not of Gorgeclan; she was born a Reedclan cat. Her family is still there! Even if the rest of the clan accepts her as leader, will she be able to lead us if tensions rise with Reedclan? Fogstep dug her claws into the ground and clawed at the dirt nervously. She didn't get anxious easily, and was a very carefree cat, but things were changing too much for her own liking.
Smokefoot
-Gorgeclan-Tom-Warrior-Alone-
Smokefoot carefully made his way down from the Highledge as Lynxstep made her announcement. It was good that Dappledspots approached her immediately. It would sooth the clan knowing that someone knew what was going on. As he stalked towards the back of the camp, he saw the shocked and contemplative expressions on the faces of the cats around them. He knew what many of them were thinking. How would she do as leader when she wasn't even born of this clan? Smokefoot didn't have any reservations, though. Goldenstar had lead their clan for a long time before her untimely death, and had never lead them to any harm or hardship. When things got hard, she had been able to make difficult decisions, and even if the clan had disagreed at first, they had always come out on top. Goldenstar knew that whoever she chose to be her deputy would eventually become the next leader of this clan, he thought. He trusted Goldenstar's judgments. But now was not the time to be thinking about things. His pelt still tingled with the thought of Goldenstar's cold pelt in the back of her rocky den. Shuddering, he walked to the edge of camp, sitting down and hanging his head sadly.
Viperpaw
-Gorgeclan-She-Cat-Apprentice-Mentor: Dawnfrost-Alone-
Viperpaw's jaw dropped when Lynxstep spoke out clearly from the Highledge. Goldenstar can't be dead! she thought incredulously. Goldenstar had been the only leader she had known. The one who accepted her into the clan when others would have turned the former kittypet away. But maybe this will be a change for the better, she thought, realization dawning on her. Lynxstep herself was an outsider, and wasn't so mired in Gorgeclan tradition that she wasn't open to change. This could be exactly what the clan and Viperpaw needed. However, neither she nor Lynxstep had been in the clan long, and so Viperpaw had no way of gauging what kind of leader the grey she-cat would be.
