Fire steadily watched his deputy, kind of feeling annoyed of how he went ahead. I'll circle around, Rumor had hissed. Tail flicking back and forth, he sighed. The bright tom started after him, freezing at the sidewalk. A car rolled by, loud roar echoing in the night. Coughing a fit, Fire flattened his ears. That piece of dung needed to check its diesel! Getting ready to cross, Fire tensed, muscles straining. Go fired a trigger in his head. Like a cheetah, Fire passed the main road. Reaching the grass, he relaxed at the soft plants crushed at his pads. Walking towards a fence, he leaped, tail flicking. Swaying carefully, tail waving in balance, Fire froze. A human opened its door. Old Man Johnny! Screeching, he jumped away. Paw stuck in a his trap, he got stuck. "RUMOR!"

Smoky heard her say under her breath, That's mouse dung. If it was special, why do you think they're hiding it from us.. Smoky sighed, pricking her ears in concern. She liked Fire, and thought of him as a litter-mate. He never kept secrets.. So why was he now? Deciding to ask Spider and add on a bit, she opened her mouth to speak. " Well, I know Fire.. Very well. He had never kept secrets in a long time. Probably since a little wee kitten. I think we should follow them.." Not waiting to see if she followed, she tenderly stepped away, bounding to the tunnel. Now pausing to look at her friend, the black cat stopped. Her ears flicked back and forth. Rumor! She heard a tom screech. "FIRE!! He is in trouble! Come on!" Bounding farther away in huge jumping steps, she felt sick inside.

Arriving to the main car path was a breeze. A car rolled by and almost instinctively, the calico tom darted across the path, checking back to see if Fire had also made it. His leader was passed it as the calico swiveled his broad head towards the House of Cats, how he like to call it. Stalking pawstep after pawstep, Rumor made his way towards what was known as the backyard. Keeping low, his belly gently sweeping over the grass and his ears alert, he reached the middle. His faded yellow eyes instantly made up with two jungle colored eyes staring straight at him. A white she-cat hissed at him. "RUMOR!" Fire's voice yowled at the top of his lungs. At that instant, the she-cat pounced at Rumor. Bare claws and jaws lashed out at Rumor, snagging his flank. The she-cat was a pretty challanging match to Rumor, but just the general fact of being a tom, Rumor had the upped hand."Mousebrain! We're here to help you!" the tom snarled at the snow colored she-cat, who was pinning Rumor. His eyes focused on her neck. No collar. "Now who's the mouse-brain?" the she-cat spat at Rumor as soon as she noticed his eyes. Using his haunches, Rumor dug his claws into her soft underbelly and flung the white she-cat off of him. His paws carried his as swift as they could to reach where he heard Fire's alarm. The she-cat seemed to be gone. For now at least. The flame-colored leader's paw was jammed in some kind of twoleg contraption. "O-old Man Johnny?" without thinking, Rumor dove for the twoleg. He was holding some other kind of trap in his hand that lifted the calico off the ground. With flailing paws, Rumor desperately tried to escape the net-trap. Rumor spat a hiss in anger. The twoleg just grinned ugly and dragged Rumor into his house. "Fire! H-help! He's bringing me.." his voice trailed off as he was brought inside.

" Well, I know Fire.. Very well. He had never kept secrets in a long time. Probably since a little wee kitten. I think we should follow them.." the black she-cat in front of Spider meowed as she exited the camp in between the boulders that made the entrance. Without hesitation, the long-limbed she-cat followed it a loud and long sigh. Halfway through the small spaced tunnel, Spider heard a screech her black ears jolted with alarm. "FIRE!! He is in trouble! Come on!" no longer taking her precious time, Spider raced after Smoky, who was swiftly trotting away. "Wait up you mouse-brain! Your going to get hit by a car!" Spider called to her friend. Beyond the path, she could see what looked like a bright ginger pelt snagged in something."This.. Is bad." the she-cat hissed under her breath.

Smoky leaped after Rumor, heart thumping. Managing to stick a rock between the door to leave a gap unintentionally, she started towards all the cats. She knew these loners and missing cats! Rock, Bramble, Sorrel, Flare, Bracken, Sam, Kite, Rain, Jack, Russell, Manny, Fluffy (she hates her name), Smudge, Lilly, almost every missing cat in the signs! Who did this man think he was! Nearly 70 cats were in this small house. She saw how thin they looked, and shocked to see, some were dead. Whining, she saw cats begging her for help, reaching their paws out. "Spider!" She whispered lightly.


Fire widened his eyes in relief, as Old Man Johnny passed him by.. But his deputy, his loyal, amazing deputy! Where is he?! Letting out a pitiful sound, he called to anybody around.

The second the calico tom was carried into the dung smelling house, he knew there were many more cats then he expected.All these cats?! How did they end up here?! the toms yellow eyes searched urgently for some way to get out, twisting and turning to no success. "You piece of fox-dung twoleg! Get me out of here!" Rumor hissed at the twoleg, called Johnny. The twoleg was trying to open some kind of trap to stick the calico in. With a rotten smirk, he put on some sort of cloth on his large paw and stuck it in the net trap after Rumor. Batting his paw with unstealthed claws, the cloth was protecting the twoleg from any pain inflicted by the calico. Rumor spat at the twoleg once more before being grabbed tightly by his scruff. He was stuffed inside the twoleg trap and before reacting quick enough, the trap was shut. Annoying yowls escaped from Rumors jaws before he felt a tap on his flank. A white she-cat with jungle green eyes was staring straight at Rumor.

Swiftly padding up to the trapped tom, Spider heard Smoky calling her name in a soft tone. Unsure to come to her aide or help her leader first, Spider hesitated. Fire is in more trouble now.. her mind told her, and she knew this might of been the best choice, even though Smoky would instantly be her next priority. Her eyes grew wide as they stared at the twoleg machine."How do I get you out of this..? the black she-cat asked her leader confusingly.

Fire looked at his cage, paw trapped in one of it. Pressing against the metal bars, he sighed. "I don't know.. I guess just leave me. Save Rumor!" He mewed. Pressing closer to get closer to Spider, he whispered," Go." As he waited for the black cat to leave, he closed his eyes. His mother's nursery song rang in his ears. " Live your life, Love your flare, Like your love, And kiss the bear, Hug the dove, and fly." Shivering, Fire looked at Spider once more. "Go." He whispered, bowing his head.

The husky reek of death filled the calico's nostrils and the dark figure in front of him was recognized by Rumor. He could feel his body tensing and the fur on his neck bristling. "How did you get in he-" his sentence was cut off by a strong swipe to his cheek. "Look you fool. You mess with Johnny, you mess with me." the loyal she-cat growled, lashing her skinny snow tail. "Well I guess you'll keep 'messing' with me for a while. We're getting rid of all these helpless cats." he replied, narrowing his yellow eyes. Before the she-cat could retort back to the tom, he stuck his paw through the cage bars and looked for the lock. His eyes followed to a black she-cat."Smoky? Smoky!! Can you help me! I'm stuck in here with this fox-dung!" Rumor yowled, not caring about being heard by the others around him. He could feel the blood drip from his cheek from the swipe he took from the white she-cat behind him, who was waiting for the cage door to be opened.

Fear poured over the fighters body. The back she-cat tilted her small head confusingly at her leader. "I'm not leaving you here mouse-brain! Besides, you're more important than Rumor.." she hissed at Fire, regretting half of what she said. Her eyes twinkled with courage. "I'm going to get you out!" a single black paw poked at the trap. The she-cat didn't want to hurt her leader, but she had to get him out one way or another. Harder, she jabbed the trap around his ginger paw.
