Cali

Cali had continued walking with her head low, searching for food for a while, not yet noticing Wisteria. As she nibbled away at the poor food she smelled another horse's scent and lifted her head quickly, flicking her ears around to try and help her locate where the scent was coming from. After a small pause she noticed the taller mare and relaxed her posture a bit, not feeling quite as nervous any more. Cali had to look up somewhat to watch the mare's ears and eyes to make sure she wasn't more worried about kicking her off the land. After seeing the mare wasn't planning on coming much closer for now she snorts then shakes out her mane calmly. She didn't want to look like a threat at all since she was quite tired and not in the mood to be chased off. "I don't know what you want, but I mean no harm." She nickered gently, keeping her head a big lower than she normally might hold it. It was not very comforting to also know that it wouldn't take much energy out of the larger mare to chase herself for quite a while.

(I don't mind either. :) )

Clandestine Secret of Wisteria

As the mare spoke, Wisteria gave the other mare a nod in return, showing she meant no harm as well. She studied the younger mare for a while, before turning and drifting a little further away. "Follow." She murmured, before resuming her bobbing gait. She felt sympathy for the other mare, and she was going to a place where she knew there would be grass, so the other mare could follow if she wanted. She trotted along first, leaving her scent in the flatter areas, making it easier for the smaller mare. Wisteria paused when far enough, then looked back, checking if the other mare wanted to come or not.

Cali

Cali watches the other mare with more confidence after seeing the mare was also trying to keep her calm it seemed. It was a nice feeling and with that feeling she perked her ears up again when Wisteria spoke one word. The word was nearly music to her ears, she felt like she had a partner again and she no longer was alone or needed to search for others. When the older mare began heading off she quickly picked up a short little trot following after the other. She was completely clueless as to where Wisteria was taking her, but she felt calm being with her and didn't really care at this point since it wasn't like she was leaving a grass meadow behind her. When the other mare stopped Cali flicks her tail and stops close beside Wisteria, finally really seeing how short she was compared to the other mare. "I could pass as a foal..." She grumbled about her height. It felt like it was there wasn't much of an advantage to being short besides she didn't run into the shorter trees. Though it was harder to run faster, harder to jump brush and much harder to see over things.

[ I also just adjusted Cali's height a tiny bit. ^.^ (she's still small, just a few inches taller, not that it matters all the much. XD ]

Clandestine Secret of Wisteria

As Wisteria saw the little mare trot up to her, she resumed her trot, wanting to reach as soon as possible. She didn't want her wound getting infected. As she moved at a gentle lope, her ears caught Cali's comment, something made her muzzle twist up in the unfamiliar gesture of a wry smile. "Not a foal. More a yearling." She clarified, teasing slightly as she moved, but it was mostly truth. She was thinking Cali was a yearling when she saw the little mare, after all. Taking another look, Cali was actually quite a pretty little mare, so Wisteria wondered why she was herdless for now. Cali seemed to like being around others, which was rubbing off on Wisteria as the bay welcomed the feeling of having another by her side once more.

As she trotted, the mare perked her ears after a while. They were almost there.

Cali

Cali waited for Wisteria to begin trotting again before she followed along slightly behind the mare. Her strides were shorter, but it didn't seem that hard to keep up right now so she was still very content with following along to where ever they were headed. When she heard the comment back from Wisteria she snorts and pins her ears playfully, knowing the other mare was only playing along with her complaints. "Oh, almost the same thing.." She snorts then perks her ears back ahead, It was fun having a funny and friendly companion. She missed being able to to actually talk and be close to others. It was dreadful being alone.

Clandestine Secret of Wisteria

As Wisteria heard Cali's retort in return, the bay mare's eyes gleamed contentedly, her wry smile widening to become a genuine, happy one. She let out a soft snort of amusement, before flicking a ear back at Cali. "I'm The Clandestine Secret of Wisteria. I prefer just Wisteria, though." She murmured softly, wondering why her mother had named her such a mouthful. She also wondered if she would name her own foals long names. Perhaps if she felt inspired. Though it was a little dubious that Wisteria would have any more foals than the two she bore to that coward, she liked to play with the thought.

As they reached, Wisteria did a swift half hobble-shuffle thing to move out the way as she stopped so Cali wouldn't bang into her as she nodded. In front of them was not what one would call an oasis, more a deep hole. It always had some water, and little bunches of grass around. Now that it was summer, the water level had receded quite a bit, but it was still deep, and not yet narrow enough where the mare couldn't stick her nose in.

Limping to the hole, she used her hoof to scrape at the narrow hole lightly, making it wider, before she stepped back, letting Cali take a drink and some food before she did. It was only fair, the little mare seemed she needed it that much more, making Wisteria wonder if her size was due to malnutrition. Whilst she waited, she lay down next to the hole, letting wet mud smear itself unto her wound. Not the best medicine there was in the world, but in this place, it had to do.

"Hurry." She said softly, looking about as she nibbled about some grass. Any living creature needed water, which meant that predators sometimes stayed here, hoping for an easy meal. Though they were well out of the category of some animals like foxes, one never really knew. Fortunately, she did not smell, see nor hear any right now, but she kept a sharp lookout just in case.

    •Echo•
Echo wathched his movements carefully. Her eyes taking it all in. She flicked her tail at the flys spreading her strong scent. By now, she thought, he has noticed it. As he spoke Echo dropped her head to graze. She was happy to a certain point. Happy that she had someone to talk to. The only thing was that someone was a stallion and this stallion was going somewhere, even though it seemed like a friendly chat. He wanted her in his herd! "It is very nice to meet you too." Her vocie calm fixed with a flirty tone.

Name
Forbidden Locket
Nickname
Locket
Age
Locket is 5 years old
Gender
Locket is a mare

Personality
Locket, for starters, she's an Anglo Arabian, for those who are going "A what?", she's an Arabian crossed with a Thoroughbred, in other words, Her mother was a Arabian, and her father was a Thoroughbred. Now, Ramiah is 16 hands high, and encase you don't know where a horse is measured from, it's from the ground to their wither, which is the part between the start of their back and their neck. Ramiah is a beautiful golden brown, yellow colour with a black stripe down the center of her back, called a dorsal stripe. She has a jet black mane and tail, and black legs, on her hind leg, she has a snow white sock. This kind of coat colour, excluding the white sock, is called Dun, You can also get buckskin, but it doesn't have a dorsal stripe. You can tell clearly which is which, by looking for a stripe. You can also get bay duns, or Dunskins, which means the horses mother may have been dun, but it's father was buckskin which makes a dunskin. She has no facial markings other than the black face which greys out towards her cheek then blends with her natural coat dun colour. She has the iridescent gene which means their coat shines even in winter, like the satin material.

Locket is a brave mare, she's fierce, she's not afraid of much... she hates every Mountain lion, their creamy yellow coats make them easy to see and if she spots one, she kills it. She won't stand for a herd who takes in cubs, or wolf pups thinking they'll protect them from other predators, because it's against horse nature, the only good predator, is a dead one. Locket is a little skittish when something sneaks up on her, mainly because of her past (read history) She still wants to go home, but never will. She's a loving little mare, Locket enjoys to help with anything she can. She, like all mares should, won't help a stallion fight another stallion. If her stallion loses, she may refuse to leave him and she may put up a fight to stay where she wishes, but she also won't help her stallion fight. She won't back him up, she won't attack a stallion unless under good cause and doing so willingly. Locket is actually kind and adoring, under her thick layer of stubbornness and aggression she can be the most lovingest thing ever, you need to make sure you know your trustable enough that she can trust you, you neeed to be a stallion who won't use her for foals, you must be one who cares, really cares.

Locket has trust issues, she however is very trust worthy, she can be quite blunt and cruel, but that's only because she is angry with herself and takes it out on others, however, once she learns to love you, she'll never be mean, unless you want her to.. in otherwords, break your trust and you'll be hated forever. Locket is sensitive, and the slightest agitation can anger her. She hates going through forrests, and refuses, she prefers meadows and valleys where she can see everything.

History
Locket was born on Ranch property, but as a wild horse. There was one young girl maybe 16? who found, trained and broke Locket in at the age of 3, just the right age. At the age of four, the girl, who Locket knew as April, had trained her up brilliantly. April would lunge the pretty mare over jumps, but she was smart and knew not to jump the mare while riding until she was 6.

April soon went for a trail ride, they rode for hours on end, and at the end of the day, they headed back. Locket could sense something was wrong and didn't want to go through the trees. April, tried to calm Locket, and got her to walk on. Going through the trees, Locket refused again and reared up, April flew off her back and landed with a thud. Locket galloped off, she had no saddle, just a bridle. The mare felt the claws of a cougar dig into her back, the teeth ripping at her flesh. Locket fell to the ground, and was ripped apart, April stood up, brave as she was she through a rock at the cat, scaring it off. April, tears rolling down her face ran to her ruined mare, she knelt beside her, the rain pouring down, it was cold and dark. "Somebody please!!..... HELP ME!!!!" April would cry out loudly, though with little use, the girl pulled her coat off and wrapped it around the young mares neck, trying to stop the bleeding. For two long hours, she slept beside her mare, passed out mostly from the cold, till a light flashed in her eyes, her father had found her. He jumped off his horse and ran to her, picking her up and taking her to his horse. "Locket.. the lion got her daddy" April murmured but was placed beside her father and left the mare there. Once at the ranch house, Aprils father told his men to go see how bad the horse was. They returned and said she was too bad. Aprils father said "go back and put her down" they were going to go, but Rus said "She'll hear the shot" "She'll think it's thunder" Aprils father said harshly. "No she won't... Aprils smart, she sees things, little details, most people ignore" Rus frowned back.. "I won't let that horse suffer" Aprils father left with a gun and went to put Locket down. However, he couldn't, his baby girl loved the mare.

He got out to the mare, aimed the gun, but couldn't. The lion was watching, he aimed the gun at the cat and fired, the cat falling the ground. Rob grabbed Ramiah's reins and made her get up. Then slowly walked back to the Ranch. for 4 months, April didn't come out, too sick and cold. On the fourth month, April died of Ammonia. She said "Daddy... Let Forbidden Locket loose.. It's what I want Daddy... She'll be happy... She knows the wild... she was wild at one stage... please daddy..." Rob obeyed his Baby girl, and let loose the pretty Anglo Arabian. Though reluctant to leave, after a few hours, she was chased out. Locket never returned, she still has a few hard to notice scars, and you will only see them if your beside her. She's lived in the wild now for 5 months, and plans to stay.

She then returned to her herd, and met her brother again. She now never lets him leave her sight.

Herd Regulations
A stallion she is with, must be trustworthy and won't use her to make foals. She needs a brave stallion who will willingly protect her, however, if it will cost him his life, she'll step in and make him stop. She dislikes being lower than lead mare, and won't stand for being 'another mare'.
Herd
No, Locket is not in a herd, she's a lone mare, She's in heat and at her peek, which means it's at it's strongest, however in a few weeks that will fade, due to it being Autumn. She goes into season 3 times throughout, Spring, Summer and autumn, and only in parts of those threee times will she allow a stallion to cover her. Being at the peek of her season, means stallions will want her and will want to cover her before the winter and she goes out of heat. However, she does travel with her brother.

Name
Picos Final rise
Nickname
Pico (Pe-co)
Age
Age of 2
Gender
Stallion

Personality
To start of with, Pico is a dark brown pay Anglo Arabian. His coat is called Overo/pinto which is the white markings upon his dark body. He has a big blaze over his face and a pink nose, He also wears two white stockings. Pico stands 16.2 Hands high and is taller than his sister he just often makes himself look smaller.

Pico is not yet fully Mature, and can be quite playful, He doesn't necessarily take everything seriously. He likes to muck around and he likes to joke about and flirt. Well, To be honest, you may as well call him Flirt, that's kinda the nick name his sister gave him when he was little, He got along so well With Locket, She and him were like magnets, For the moment he stays with her, but she getting older is beginning to make him stay away. She's teaching him to be mature and how to care for a herd, something their parents never got to teach him. So far he's going well, other than the occasional butterfly or something. You could say he was quite the colt, and for the moment, Locket says that because she is 5 and he is 2, that he is hers, just so that he can stay with her. So if she were to join a herd she'd force the stallion to allow him, and she'd get the stallion to help teach Pico how to properly care for a herd. In other words, he is not ready for his own herd yet, or leave Locket.

History
He doesn't have that much of a history, He was with his sister for a few months then she left and came back and he's been with her ever since.
Herd Regulations
Well, at the moment, he doesn't know how to look for. But when he does start, looking and knows how to care for a herd, he won't like mean mares, he won't like back stabbers, he won't like ones who never shut up. He would want ones who do like being quiet sometimes, respect him as much as he'll respect them and will be as loyal to him as he is to them.
Herd
No, he is with Locket at the moment.

a raven toned mare lifted her hooves two at a time, making her way through a terrain obviously quite new to her. we can tell it is new because of the odd tempo she lifted her hooves to. sometimes they would remain on the ground for a second, others they would remain for only a fraction of a second. now, it wasn't because she was going abnormally, her left fore hoof would move forward at the same time as her right back hoof, and once they touched the ground, her right fore hoof and left back hoof would bring her forward another stride. nor was she lame.

no, this mare may have stepped over this ground once or twice but not more than that. moving up the legs to the muscled shoulders and haunches, we see that there are no leg markings. we also gain more proof that this mare had never been through the desert. she was extremely well-fed and had surprising muscle tone for a mare. we also see clouds of dust float up from the ground behind her, but some swirled around her body and found a home in her already dusty black hide.

but from a distance, we would think that the mare had never been dirty in her life. we also see the glistening skin of a nasty scar along her body, and various other places where she has had scars. finally, we reach the head of the mare. she has striking sapphire eyes and her head is well-sculpted. but whatever had attacked her didn't forget to leave its mark on her face. it did indeed have its fair share of scars, but mostly minimal ones.

we see the mare dip her head occasionally and snort as the swirling dust entered her nostrils. the mare finally found herself upon a stream, but it was dry. she snorted, lowering her head and began violently pawing the dry riverbed. she had seen other horses do it, and water would sometimes swell up in the hole their hooves would create. the mare snorted, pawing the riverbed for a time before finally, water swelled to the hole her black hoof had created.

before it could disperse, the ebony mare drank the dirty water. the mare snorted as the remaining water traveled in various trails down the riverbed. the ebony mare pricked her dainty ears, listening for a sound besides the occasional tumbleweed crackling. of course, the mare heard nothing. she seemed to be in solitude all the way out here. but she decided to pick up her hooves one at a time, now. she walked through the deserted area, looking for other horses to communicate with, or even a kindly band stallion.

a sudden sight of a tumbleweed bouncing around caused the mare to kick up her back hooves and gallop away from the unwelcomed sight. the mare's source of scars obviously had created a flighty horse out of a mare that truly had nothing to be scared of. but the mare soon calmed down, but realized she had covered a distance. she found herself at a functional stream, and horses galore were gathered around it.

the mare pricked her ears, an excited whinny escaping her. she hadn't seen horses in a while now, and a lack of being with her own kind had made her upset. it had made her feel lonely, and for a while she spoke as if her father was with her. bit that habit had left her about three days prior to happening upon the desert. the mare had mainly walked through the desert and it felt like nothing more than beach sand.

but today was the first day she had done anything more than walk, and the terrain had gotten slightly harder. it made footing awkward for the mare, as she had been walking on unclaimed farmland from the moment she was born. but the mare was slowly getting a hang of the desert terrain. the mare snorted, nobody had approached her. they probably thought that the mare was strange, for being so excited about other horses.

a bay tovero mare cantered through the desert terrain, obviously much more comfortable than the ebony mare. the painted mare was an odd sight indeed, with orange encircling her eyes and upon splashes of white, blue hand prints and orange markings made their permanent home. she spotted an ebony mare, and instantly recognized her. however, instead of moving toward the awkward mare, the paint moved away from her.

you see, the ebony mare was her sister. the two hadn't spoken since the paint was about one year old, and nor did the two intend on speaking until they were each safely in separate herds. the two were sisters by sire, so technically they were just half-sisters. but the paint mare was younger than the raven mare by about a year. the paint mare snorted, her body more used to the desert she traveled on. the paint mare had been traversing this land for a while, now.

it was actually about two years or so that the paint had been on this land. she snorted as she found herself at a stream and heard the unchanging whinny of her sister. but the paint couldn't see the glossy ebony coat, so she contently sipped at the water at her feet. the paint then pricked her ears, looking around for something or someone. but nothing appeared to catch her chocolaty eye as her ears fell back to a listening position on her head, but more towards a neutral position.

the mare didn't seem to be expecting anything in particular, as she took her weight off her back foot. her leg drooped slightly and the mare's head dropped contently. the paint did keep an alert eye for sudden, uncalled for movements so she could prepare a defense or even an offense. but for now, she was quiet and almost everything around her was quiet, except for the gentle trickle of water through the stream's bed.
