Midnight's paws made light crunches in the white snow-covered ground. Her fur bristled with stress as she carried a plump hare in her muzzle. It was the only food she had found that day. It was becoming very stressful for her. The pack was going to starve to death if she didn't find enough food sources. A low growl rose from her throat with this thought in mind.
The female wolf made her way into a large cave that the pack shared. It was freezing outside, but luckily, a blizzard hadn't come yet. She placed the hare in the middle, pacing back and forth. She was worn out from running after the hare and she was definitely going to lose her sanity with this deadly winter. Her ears perked up when she noticed Rapture in the cave. Rapture was a pup to her no matter what. She couldn't afford to lose another one. Being as motherly as she was, the alpha decided to keep the apprentice in the cave for the day. "Rapture, you may go ahead and begin eating. I'm not hungry at the moment" she spoke. In the pack, if the alpha decided not to eat first, the feeding order continued.

Baron quietly sat on the ground that was blanketed in white. His ears perked up, listening for any unfamiliar sounds. His guard was always up, for he had a duty as a scout. The snow gracefully fell and landed on his grey fur. There was nothing out of the ordinary here. His shift would last only an hour from now, and he would be strong throughout the whole thing. The cold air bit at his skin and his paws felt almost numb, but it wasn't anything different from yesterday. Rarely, he would catch a glimpse of his old mate in her own territory, searching around for any scraps of food. "How desperate she looks. How foolish" he mumbled to himself, chuckling lightly. She would always mind her and her pack's business, not even glancing toward his pack's territory.

I open my eyes and look around the cave. I stand up before letting my body stretch down in an arch. I lift up my nose and look around. Alpha was out. And i could smell that. Her scent was stale as i could barely smell it. I run my tongue around my mouth. I look in the middle of the cave and find no food. I sigh and then my stomach rumbles. I hadn't even eaten the night before. I hated winter. There was hardly anything to survive on. I think we would all have to go vegetarian and eat all the greens.I chuckle to myself before sitting down and look around i see the little pup and think. Oh what was his name again! Oh yea Rapture I wasn't very good with remembering names. He was so young though. I mean who was his mother? I keep my eye on him to make sure he didn't go out into the winter colds day. We didn't want anyone else dying this winter. The scent of Midnight started to feel the air. I move my eyes from Rapture and see Midnight enter the cave. I nod my head politely and watch her drop the hare in the middle where the pile would be. But there was no pile anymore. All i wanted to do was to run and scoop it up and run out and have it all to myself. That was how hungry i was. But i didn't i kept myself calm. I listen as she talks to Rapture. I sigh and walk up to Midnight. I sit beside her. "Morning" I say looking at the hare.

Midnight gravely nodded in greeting. She noticed how hungry Illusion was and swallowed a lump in her throat, lowering her head for once in shame. She couldn't let anyone starve in her pack. Her stance looked unsure, but she quickly made her way at the back of the den. Digging up a half-eaten hare, she placed it I'm front of Illusion. "It's not much, but it's our emergency supply" she whispered. Her ears laid back. The hare was not as plump as the one fed to Rapture, but it was somewhat filling. She would have to try harder with hunting, even if it took her the whole night.

I watch Rapture lat right in front of me eating the hare. I dont know if she realized how hungry i was or she was just coming to lay with us.I smile anyway and then i listen to Midnight. I watch her put the hare in front of me. As she said it was for emergency. I shake my head and paw it towards her. "No thanks, i will survive" I say smiling. "You eat it. You will need it" I say. I then smile i know i was a warrior but i was going to say it anyway. " I could try going hunting later?" I suggest to her. If she went hunting in the morning and i went in the afternoon then we might get 2 maybe 3 hares a day if we were lucky.
