Seals; they're cute, energetic, and funny. That is, in captivity. In the wild, these seals are territorial, you and your pod live on an island, untouched by humans, with your enemy pod. When pups are low, they tend to steal pups them from each other, but the other pod isn't the only threat. The occasional birds of prey swoop down and attack pups. Orca Whales, and Great White Sharks prowl the ocean and are quick. You must get back to shore before the kill you. Predators are becoming more common then your diet. Your prey consists of various types of fish, like anchovies, sardine, whiting, mackerel, and rockfish. There is also the rare market squid. You and your pod, must survive day to day, with the risk of predators and starvation. The two pods are The Coastal Ones and The Rocky Ones. The Rockies, for short are more aggressive and are more skilled in fighting. They are usually the pup stealers and steal prey also from The Coasts. The Coasts are more agile and skilled in hunting, they have a larger food supply. Now,

The Plot
the pods absolutely hate each other. Whenever the come in tact with each other, there will be a fight.
Love
the lead male mates with all mature females, subordinate males are not allowed to mate with any females.
during mating/birthing scenes fade to black.
drama is encouraged! mates can cross over pods

This is the Beach. It's basically the camp and where you will find the majority of the pod.


Here we have the Reef. It's the closest and best fishing spot from the Beach. It's easily spotted by the sudden shallows. It has a surplus of fish.


Leaving Bay, this is where you meet up with the rest of your pod to set off to Pup Place, once a year. The journey to Pup Place is risky, predators are more common during the migrate.


And this is the Pup Place. The pod journeys to this every May, when the pups are born. In one month, the pups and adults journey back to the Beach.

On the other opposite of the Beach, is the Boulders. It belongs to the Rocky Ones.


This is Deep Fishing, it's pretty far out and dangerous place to fish, it is also the closest fishing place with the most amount of fish.


Departure Area. It's where the Rockies depart to their Pup Place. It's much shallower then Leaving Bay.


And this is the Rocky One's Pup Place, it's a smaller part of where the Coastal One's breed. The Rockies steal from the Coastal's regularly.

Young Life
Young male and female California sea lions look very similar with blond or light brown fur, but when males reach 4 or 5 year old, their fur changes to a dark red or chocolate brown color and they develop a blonde patch on top of their head as they age. Adult bulls may be up to 8 feet long and 1,000 pounds. California sea lion cows are blond to dark brown. Females maybe over 5 feet long and weight up to 220 pounds. Pups are dark brown at birth and weigh about 16 pounds. When pups are 4 or 5 months old they molt their dark brown coat for a light brown or silver coat.


Social Behaviors
California sea lions are very social on land and in the water, but during the breeding season the males will aggressively defend their territories and females will fight other females to protect their pups. They 'bark' at each other just like dogs. When fishing, sea lions usually fish in small groups for safety, and to confuse their prey. Females and pups communicate using vocalizations that are unique to the female and pup. Each pup and female have a unique scent that also identifies them. A female can locate her pup among hundreds of physically identical pups by her pup's vocalization. When she finds her pup she smells the pup as a final check that the pup is hers.

appearance;; sunshine is a medium sized sea lion with an almost tawny hide. Her body is long and slick, which helps her glide through water easily. She has large autumn eyes that seem to shine underwater. She has faint, white markings around her muzzle, eyes, and ear flaps. Her flippers are unusually small, which makes her pretty clumsy on land.

personality;; Sunshine is an exceptionally bright sea lion with a bubbly personality. Even though she's pretty young, she has the caring and protective heart of an elder. She loves to chat with others and enjoys company. If she said t choose between hunting and fighting, she would defiantly go for hunting, this is because her size doesn't help her much in a fight as it would to a larger
sea lion. To be honest, she's a coward when it comes to fighting and will probably give up. That is, unless it was for a pup. She loves pup to death and would do anything to protect hers, or another females'. When ever encountering a seal from Rocky Pod, hunting or not, she will do her best to fight them off for her pod.

history;; Sunshine has had a hard puphood, firstly, when she was only two months old, her mother was murdered by a pod of Orcas that attack a hunting patrol. She was fought over by the other females and was adopted by a female by the name of Rose, who already had a pup, Waterfall Silhouette. Silhouette was rougher than Sunshine and he would chase and push around Sunshine all the time. By the time she was nine months old, the Rocky Ones attacked and stole her from her pod. Gratefully, she was rescued by a hunting patrol she found.

personality;; caboose is a large bull with an even larger temper. he's been known for attacking his own pod memebers for ticking him off the slightest. when not attacking other seals, caboose can surprisingly a sweetheart, flirting with all the cows in the pod. he loves talking with others, but be careful what you choose to say.

appearance;; this average-sized male is brown with very few scars along the side of his head. He is on the small size, if any size, no where close lead male. zodiac has an unusual set of eyes, that are awkwardly small. In the depths of the ocean, it's hard for him to spot fish and predators. Speaking of his eyes, they are a faded blue color.

history;; Zodiac has lived the normal life of a seal. Born and raised around war and survival, but in his late training years, he fell in love with his trainer, Sage. He never told her how he felt about her and one day, war broke out over stealing pups. Sage was stuck in the fight and was killed, pushed down a series of ridged rocks that were once in camp. Heartbroken, Zodiac disappeared for a couple days, but returned to his pod moving on from Sage's death.
