Flightsong
Bird's song of flight
]Flightsong glanced around her den. She squinted into the bright sunlight
pouring in through the wall. She yawned, letting the golden fingers soak into her sleek
ginger-spotted pet. Narrowing her eyes, she rolled over, bounced to her paws, and skidded out
of the warrior's den. Her freckled face lit up at the sight of her favorite prey,
a magpie. The wind whistled in here ears, and she relished the feeling of it.
Padding over to a shady bush, she dug in, enjoying the magpie.
Once she finished, she groomed herself until she was glittering when she
stepped into sunlight. Narrowing her sharp amber eyes, she pushed off the ground a bounded into the
forest to hunt. Flightsong set down her prey; two mice and a shrew. She padded down to a small,
tricking stream and lapped at it for a long time. Suddenly, a branch rustled. Flightsong
looked up, water droplets sparkling on her whiskers, and bounded into the tree after the squirrel.
