_________Cen flicked his ears at the female's response. It intrigued him a bit, most would immediately get defensive. He was thankful, though, that she didn't. One way or another, things always seemed to get messy after that. She looked neither at ease nor on edge as she addressed him. It was more like she was just... bored. Why wasn't she afraid of a pack wolf? He wasn't going to attack her or anything, but most any other wolf would have by now. "Well, you must know what comes next." He said, carefully studying her reaction to this with his dull grey eyes. Something told him she'd be unswayed, but he couldn't help it. He took on a slightly more imposing stance, just enough for her to notice, and flicked his tail back and forth methodically. If you learn from defeat,

Adene pinned her ears back for a second before perking them upright again. As he shifted into a more intimidating stance, she stood, rising to her full height. Which wasn't that tall, or nearly as intimidating as his was, but for some reason she still wasn't afraid. Slightly more nervous, but not much. She looked away from him for a second, judging the jump down from her rock. About 4, 5 feet. She silently leapt from it, the only sound the gentle splash of the water around her paws. Once she had settled and turned to face him, the water around her ankles, she then realized how much bigger he was then her. She regretted her jump already. And her only means of escape was the forest behind him, or the river behind her. She was sure if she needed to she could just outrun him. She stood proud though, head held high and ears pricked, back straight."I think I have a idea." She said, quietly, knowing that she had just trapped herself. Her tail swished just above the surface of the water, the soft sound of the river so out of place in this moment. But it calmed her. She wouldn't be so easily intimidated. She scolded herself for fearing, because it was fear that got most killed. So she made the confident gleam come back into her eyes and she stretched in the shallow water, shaking out her pelt again. She would not go down easily."If you want to try and scare me off, go ahead. But, can I at least know your name?" She said, cocking her head to the side slightly.

_________Cen could see gears turning slowly into place after she jumped down from the rock. She had just realized she was trapped. Although his face remained emotionless and distant, he commended the female for her immediate recovery. He could see her eyes flicking frantically back and forth once she realized her mistake. Relaxing into a sitting position, he resumed swishing his tail back and forth. His eyes stayed stagnant on her when she started talking. The confidence lacing her words returned rather quickly, causing him to quirk his head to the side a tiny bit. "I can grant you that," He said after she was finished. "But why, might I ask, is this relevant?"If you learn from defeat,

The she-wolf remained standing as he sat, though she relaxed a little as he did so. Plus she was in water, which would be uncomfortable. She thought about this question for a second, then gave a little grin. "It's not. Purely curiosity, I guess." A gentle breeze whispered through her fur. She continued to gaze at the brute. She had a reason besides what she told him, but she herself could not pin point it. And it annoyed her greatly. He seemed kinda stiff. Formal. She thought about how she must look right now, and almost laughed. But now that he had sat, she felt a little safer, even though he was just the same standing. She watched his gray eyes with her golden ones, perking her ears.

_________One corner of Cen's maw inched its way up at her reply. "Cen." He said simply, flicking his ears. After a brief moment of silence, Cen inhaled and stood up, giving a slight smirk in her direction. "Well, no need to be afraid. I'm not here to start a fight, and you don't seem to be a threat. Just don't let the alpha see us together." He said, sticking his tongue out at her playfully, but a serious tone darkened his voice. "Actually, I don't think you'd want to stick around much longer." He spaced out for a bit, but regained his composure shortly after. "And, ah, you have a name too, don't cha?" He said, giving her a wink.If you learn from defeat,

Adene was so surprised in the brute's sudden change of demeanor that she didn't do anything for a second. She rolled the name over in her mind. She listened to him talk and even though he lightened the statement by sticking his tongue out, she caught the seriousness hidden in it. And she would be here for a while. Actually, she didn't know when she would be moving on. She usually stuck around for a while. When Cen asked her her name, she finally gave a small laugh, and her voice was light and smooth when she replied. " Were you paying attention earlier, Cen? Adene. My name's Adene." She said, referring to when she was still up on the rock. She had taken a small step forward, but still watched him carefully. Trust was to be earned. Now she didn't know how to react. His sudden playfulness confused her, but she liked it better and much preferred it to how he was before. She gave him a small smile and wagged her tail, but remained where she stood, letting the cold water lazily run through her toes.

the fea growled as her came up into the tree with her, and she turned her head the other way. "you.. you're the problem.." she said, tears slipping down her face one after the other. "i always thought you liked me, yet i knew your secret.. and now you know mine.." she sniffled once and looked down at the snow below them. "i've always liked you, but never knew how to express it, so i thought it would be easier to hate you.. to force myself to hate you.." she sniffled once again and sat up, her gaze still locked on the snow spot. she closed her eyes and turned her head to be straight, lining up with her body.
