Saphira
Saphira blinked. "Alright, if you say so." She peered down at Hoolemore's deep blue waters. She was also a bit dirty like Charcoal. She concentrated on flying again. They weren't in the mist zone.... yet. She froze as she noticed black shapes flying above the. "Crows!" "Crows, Charcoal, crows!" She swerved out of the way just in time as a crow dove at her. She tussled with a large group of crows, slashing at them without damaging her catch. Wait... Saphira quickly threw her mouse in the opposite direction. Sure enough, the crows chased it and forgot about her and Charcoal. She closed her eyes and panted. "That was close." She wheezed. Then, suddenly, she felt a wack on her breast. A huge crow was trying to get her into the ocean! She lashed at the crow and smacked it into the dean. The crow slowed itself down just in time, and grabbed Saphira's foot with its beak. It dragged her down, down down towards the ocean. No! She fought free, but she was already in the sea. The water weighed her feathers down. She gasped and fought for air.

Charcoal.

Charcoal's eyes widened with shock as she realized that his sister, Saphira, was falling, falling, falling ... deeper and deeper into the ocean. "No!" He shrieked as he dove down after her - his first day of flying and he was already doing a power dive - then he raked his talons across the crow's wings, causing the stupid thing's wingbeats to eventually slow down enough to let Saphira go. Then, before Saphira could fall, he flew down under her to make sure that she didn't, and failed. However, he didn't give up and instead grabbed one of Saphira's wings with his beak, gently, and began pulling her up out of the water. She weighed more than he did, so it was hard, but he managed to manage it.

[center]Saphira
Saphira felt Charcoal's talons pull her out of the water. "T-t-thanks" She stammered, water bubbling from her beak. She couldn't fly, for her feathers were soaked. She was cold to the bone, even though the sun was shining brightly. She spread out her wings to dry them, not wanting to burden Charcoal for long. After she decided her wings were dry enough, she continued to fly. She could only fly a few feet above the ocean, since she was still quite wet. Hopefully the sun will dry me soon. It's bright today. She looked at her reflection. The dirt had washed off, and Saphira was no longer black and brown. Instead, she was a ghostly, pure white owl with light tan feathers. Her heart shaped disk had a small, sharp beak and bright black eyes. Her feet were black and strangely had no feathers. Her talons, which were also black, were sharp and hooked. Im fully fledged, She thought proudly. She turned around and looked for down, but she found no fluffy white feathers. She imagined what Charcoal would look like when he was fully fledged. Well, Sooty Owls are Barn Owls but darker and more... sooty.

Charcoal.

Charcoal nodded. "It wasn't a problem," he responded quietly before continuing to fly forward. After a few minutes he finally turned his head to fully look at Saphira. He hadn't been paying much attention to her looks until now, as he had gotten curious. She was fully fledged now, which amazed Charcoal quite a bit. He wouldn't become fully fledged until perhaps a few more weeks, which he thought stunk really badly. He looked down at his reflection again - he still had the same downy feathers and everything. He sighed, though continued flying forward.

Saphira
Saphira noticed that Charcoal had a disappointed look on his face. "Are you ok?" She asked, cocking her head. She paused and noticed what the problem was. "Don't worry. You'll be fully fledged in no time!" She flew beside him. "Some of your plumes have sprouted already." She tried to comfort him. "So... what chaw do you want to be in? I would love to be tapped into the Colliering chaw." She squinted into the distance as she waited for him to answer. They were nearing the middle of the sea, where there would be a lot of mist. And, deep in that mist, the tree would be waiting for them.

Charcoal.

Charcoal nodded, then paused, trying to think of an answer for the question. "I'd like to be either a Collier or a Blacksmith - Blacksmith definitely, but a Collier would do as well." He said. "I don't know, I just ... have this strange connection towards fire. Like it's speaking to me." He said. What he didn't know was the fact that he obtained the rare ability of firesight. The last owl known to have this ability was the legendary King Coryn.

( In my opinion, they shouldn't have brought Coryn in. He's my least favorite character. In my opinion. )
Saphira
Saphira tilted her head to hear better. "Fire speaks to you?" It sounds so familiar. But I just can't seem to remember... She shook her head to clear her thoughts. "A blacksmith sounds fun. They get to make all sorts of stuff, like battle claws and armor..." She had been so caught up with talking to Charcoal that she hadn't noticed that they had entered the mist zone.

(I think he's okay. My favorite antagonist is either Kludd or Stryker, and my favorite protagonist is definitely Digger. cx)

Charcoal.

Charcoal nodded in agreement, though he hadn't even thought of the term that he had just used. Now he had to agree yet again that it actually did sound quite familiar. "I thought so. It'd be fun to make battleclaws and armour our of fire even though I have no idea how they do it. I mean, I know that they mend the metal with fire to create objects, though it's so confusing how they can just ... shape it like that." He sighed quietly, then realized that they were in the Mist Zone. "Saphira ... " he trailed off quietly, figuring she'd get the picture sooner or later.

[center]Saphira
Saphira finally noticed that they were deep in the Mist Zone. "Where's the tree?" She looked around, but all she could see was white, white, and more white. She was beginning to grow worried. "Wait... is that an owl?" She watched as an owl like figure led a small owlet away. "Maybe they came from the tree." But why would an owl lead an owlet out? She flew in the direction that the owl came frm, hoping to find a gigantic tree. After a while, she noticed a faint outline in the distance.

Charcoal.

Charcoal saw the owl-like figure as well. It looked almost mystical, the way it was just leading that owlet further and further away. He shook his head and just continued following Saphira towards whatever outline that she was following. "Saphira, why is there so much mist in only this part of the Sea of Hoolemere?" He asked. He could barely see Saphira. Barely. So he followed his instincts closer and closer to her.
