grumbling something about why mentors show up at the wrong at the wrong time. she waited for froststar to answer. when flamepaw headed off to the elders den, she ran to catch up with her friend. "Might as well clean it together. "She walked into the entrance and immediately wrinkled her nose at the smell. She looked around, there were a couple dead ticks in the nest, probably what they could reach on their backs. Thats why we are here, she thought. What do they do in here?! she exclaimed. She started cleaning out the nests.

Sorry about short post.

Pepper, could you change a cat or two to a tom, other than that accepted.

      froststar

      ᴍᴏᴏᴅ: happy, slightly unrestedᴡʜᴇʀᴇ: Highrock/her denᴡɪᴛʜ: nobody
      She tasted the air and saw the two fluffy apprentices trotting towards the Highrock. She watched them and listened to their plea. She smiled and was about to tell the two to just get a small piece of prey from the fresh-kill pile when she saw the two mentors walk up from behind. She thought that the two objectives would be good for the to apprentices when the younger warrior mentioned something about patrols, and she was quite right. They were necessary to keep all dangers outside the borders, and they needed a hunting patrol to feed the other cats not able to feed themselves. Berryfang, would you and Applepaw take the hunting patrol with two other cats. Northblaze and Flamepaw same with you two but take the border patrol. It was quite hard for the Leader to plan out the whole day, plus she reminded herself that since there was a shortage on warriors she would be mentoring a apprentice herself. After seeing the cats on their way, she lept off of highrock, her landing giving off a small thud as she spotted her apprentice and walked over to her. "So, ready to go training?" she asked. She hadn't really thought of what she was going to do today, was she going to teach the she-cat how to fight or to hunt. This left the leader unsure so she'd just let Wildpaw decide.

      softpaw

      ᴍᴏᴏᴅ: sleepyᴡʜᴇʀᴇ: app. denᴡɪᴛʜ: Wrenfeather
      The blinding light of the sun filled the rotting stump as Softpaw opened up her clear azure eyes. The young she-cat was still quite drowsy as she stumbled quite clumsily out of the den. She played it off as if nothing had happened, keeping her cool and walking slowly through the camp. She spotted her tawny mentor and the drowsiness seemed to almost slide from her pelt, putting a bounce to her step and brighten up her eyes. She quite loved going out training with her mentor, he was quite patient with the less than perfect she-cat and thats what she liked the most about him, how he never gave up on her. She trotted quite happily towards Wrenfeather and the pipped up. "Hiya Wrenfeather, so what are we gonna do today?" Softpaw asked. She then briskly started soothing all the tufts of fur sticking out in odd directions from her restless sleep.

Northblaze nodded at Froststar, it sounded like a plan to him. Flamepaw could use a refresher on where the borders were. It wasn't long before Northblaze spotted Oddpaw, the young apprentice was sitting not far off, lazily grooming himself. How disrespectful, thought Northblaze to himself with a scowl. He should put that apprentice to work for the day. "Froststar, I see that Oddpaw's mentor isn't up yet, what should he do? Perhaps go on patrol with me?" He asked, giving Oddpaw a glance to let him know that he had put him to work on purpose. Perhaps it would teach him to respect Froststar a bit more by not licking his hindquarters in front of their clan leader.

Oddpaw flicked his ears, dismissing the orders given to other apprentices. If Twinstripe wasn't going to show up, Oddpaw might as well groom himself and take a nap. It wasn't long before Oddpaw heard more conversation, and he pricked his ears in interest at his name. He stopped mid-lick, his fur growing hot and his neck fur rising. He raised his head and glared at Northblaze, a low inaudible growl escaping his throat. He spoke as soon as Northblaze had finished, "I'm fine, thanks," He said cheekily.
The future lies before you;
like a field of fallen snow.
Be careful how you tread it;
for every step will show.

They'll judge you by your past;
Which makes it do or die.
Unless of course my darling;
You spread your wings and flii.

Twinstripe laid in his nest, blinking away sleep. He stood and stretched out his body, opening his mouth in a large yawn, before standing and stepping out of the warrior's den. He blinked as the unfamiliar sunlight hit him. He gave himself another moment to fully wake up before looking for Oddpaw.

Nofoot sat lopsided under the shade of a tree. He licked his paw and rubbed it across his forehead. Each time he lifted his paw it looked like he would tip over and would only just save himself from face planting the ground.

WILDPAW

    Once her mentor had finished speaking she turned to Wildpaw and asked her if she was ready to go training. Getting to her paws and fighting the urge to nod vigorously, the torbie gave a small, controlled nod. "What will we be doing?" While she was a good hunter due to her small, lithe size and nimble paws, Wildpaw wasn't the strongest fighter. Silently, she hoped that her white-furred mentor would say that they were going to do battle training. Both she-cats were on the smaller size and hopefully that would make it easier to train, as Froststar didn't have to factor in her size. She could be taught the same way as her mentor was taught moons ago.

finishing up with the elders den, she looked over at flamepaw, who had finished and was sitting there. she shrugged,"see ya later" walking out of the den, she saw that more cats were out. she walked over to berryfang, and sat down, she licked one paw, and drew it over her head. "ready to go?" she trotted over to the entrance of camp. she saw something, stick like, it seemed. she looked closer, it lunged out at her, biting her right front leg. applepaw gave a yelp of pain, as shhe saw some of the warriors draw closer. "help!" she screeched. it all made sense, she was a fur brain. that so called stick had been a snake!

That stubborn tom! she thought in pain. She had already been bit, couldn't he see that?! Ugh, she thought. this hurt. she had never been in pain like this before, and she was not a fan. she watched anxiously as flamepaw looked nervously. she rolled her eyes, and then, with one final large groan of pain, everything was black.

Technically an adder. :3 }}

Ivory.

Two azure blue eyes looked straight back the sapphire sky. Both of the brilliant cobalt scenes sparkled. Ivorysplash purred as she once more picked up her large bundle of herbs that she had to bring back to her den. She was too far from camp. She had just paused to stare out upon her favorite watching place. She knew that Wolfpaw must be up and wandering back now. He would be looked for her. As she made her way back to camp and thought about him, her eyebrows kneaded into a straight, furrowed line of discontent. The male had been so... Different, since he had been injured and witnessed the death of Briarleaf. So much more dampered. He needed to know that he was going to be OK... She had felt the same way after she injured her own leg that left her with a permanent limp, even though she was already a Medicine Cat apprentice when it happened.
She continued to contemplate this when she reached camp, pausing in fear when a yowl wrung out. Her fur puffed up and she loped forward, seeing Applepaw, Flamepaw, and an adder. She hissed in anger. Applepaw had been bitten, Flamepaw was acting like a mousebrain, and this adder was still roaring and hissing and could bite another cat! She darted forward, already barking orders. Though, Applepaw passed out and it only made her work so much harder and she grew more worried for the poor she-cat. "Flamepaw, what happened? Stand back!" She hissed, pushing him back and maneuvering around the adder. It struck at her and she managed to move out the way. Then, she move forward as fast she could and lunged at it's neck. She felt its fangs pierce her skin, but only a bit. Like an accidental bite. Though, she was still infected with it's venom and it still nicked and hurt her.

WOLFPAW
ᴍᴇɴᴛᴏʀ: ivorysplash ᴍᴏᴏᴅ: tired / irritable ʟᴏᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ: camp ᴛᴀɢs: ivory / apple / flame
___________________________________________________________

          he'd been awake for some time now, and thus far the morning had been increasingly uneventful. the sun came up, and wind blew, everything was the same as always. though, wolfpaw supposed he should be grateful that no one had gotten sick, or even worse, gotten hurt as of late. still, he couldn't help the bitterness he felt as he watched apprentices and their mentors meet up in the middle of camp, eager and able bodies ready to work. when he got the chance, the medicine cat apprentice often ventured into the forest alone to practice both hunting and fighting techniques, and though it was frowned upon he saw no reason as to why medicine cats shouldn't know how to defend themselves as well as any warrior. the large grey tabby huffed, letting his head fall back so he could gaze at the sky. then, an apprentice's scream split the air, and wolfpaw's head snapped to the clan's entrance. he was in motion before he even knew what was happening, flamepaw had moved in front of applepaw. when he was close enough to see what had happened, the medicine cat apprentice cursed excessively. how mouse-brained could the younger apprentice be, leaping in front of a snake like that. thankfully, ivorysplash was there and the senior medicine cat had the situation taken care of in mere seconds. wolfpaw cursed under his breath, hating that because of his physical impairment he was unable to get there fast enough to save the apprentice from being bitten. turning to his mentor, he waited impatiently to be told what to do, irritated that since he had never dealt with an adder attack before, he knew nothing of how to treat a bite.

ARTEMIS
ᴍᴏᴏᴅ: text. ʟᴏᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ: in the forest ᴛᴀɢs: open
___________________________________________________________

          "rats!" this was the second mouse artemis had lost today, and she was tiring from the chase. usually the she-cat was able to take down at least two or three of the vermin before the sun was high, but today it seemed like that wouldn't be happening. shaking her head, the tiny black she-cat focused on the task at paw. food. lifting her nose, the faint breeze brought with it the smell of squirrel, her favorite. it wasn't too long before the female happened upon the animal, crouched low as she padded forwards, thankful of the thick covering of pine-needles that muffled any sounds her paws would have made otherwise. finally, she was close enough to almost taste the fluffy-tailed creature, but a noise farther off to her left startled it into sudden motion. with a hiss of aggravation, the lithe feline pelted after the squirrel, intent on making it her first, and likely only, meal of the day. as the animal darted up a tree, she couldn't help but give a small growl of satisfaction. she was, after all, an outstanding climber. the she-cats powerful muscles took her up the tree, her small size and form allowing her to easily corner the squirrel as it attempted to scurry to a smaller branch. satisfied with her catch, artemis figured she may as well eat now, and settled down in a fork in the branches to eat with the forest floor beneath her.

LIONHEART
----------------------------HEAR ME ROAR

NAME lionkit » lionpaw » lionheart
AGE fourty-seven moons
GENDER male
RANK warrior

DESCRIPTION well, this tom certainly looks like a small lion, thus the reasoning behind his name. with broad shoulders and a wider-than-average stance, the senior warrior makes a pretty imposing appearance. his flashy orange pelt has darker, barely noticeable tabby markings, and gathers in a noticeable fringe around the toms neck. his face is elegantly defined with splashes of white above his eyes and on his muzzle, highlighting a strongly chiseled jaw-line. lionheart's paws are large, and if you've known him long enough you'd know that he definitely did some growing to fit them. his muscles are greatly defined, and ripple beneath his short pelt. because of his shorter muzzle, lionheart's upper canines peek out beneath his lip ever so slightly, not greatly noticeable unless one truly looks. this, in turn, gives the tom a slight lisp, something that he has learned to live with. lionheart's eyes aren't all that special, a dark amber flecked with gold that seems to match with his pelt coloration very well, tying together an appearance that could be called handsome, by some, but average by most.

PERSONALITY dependable, loyal, trustworthy, honorable. all words that could describe lionheart to a T. calm and polite, he has never been one to lose his temper easily, and is known to do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of his clan-mates. lionheart is the kind of tom you could tell all of your secrets to, and even if you hated one another in the future, he would never tell a soul about what transpired. lionheart is simply not the gossiping type, he doesn't enjoy talking about others, and if he doesn't like a particular individual, he'll either ignore them or tell them right-out what the issue is. an all-around kind of tom, lionheart is liked well-enough, and it's obvious he has a soft spot for kits despite what happened to his own. now, of course lionheart isn't perfect, and when pushed too far he's liable to become irritable and snappish. he doesn't take kindly to apprentices or younger warriors lying and talking back, and is quite unafraid to put someone in their place when they've stepped out of line. however, lionheart is also the kind of warrior that will laugh and play moss-ball with the young kits when he's not busy hunting or patrolling, and since he was an apprentice he has made it a habit to check that the nursery and elder's dens are in tip-top shape. so yes, lionheart is a nice guy, but every nice guy has his breaking point, and the only question left to ask is; where's lion's?

HISTORY lionheart was born to sunsplash [mother] and icestorm [father]. both cats loved him and his two siblings, tigerfrost and frostpaw. as apprentices, the three siblings were inseparable, and did nearly everything together. nearly. but lionheart steadfastly refused to go with his brothers on their forest expeditions. oh, how he wished he had. on a clouded, starless night, fox and tiger left the camp, and lion thought nothing of it. but when his brothers did not return in the early hours of the morning as was usual, he grew worried. at sunhigh, lionheart had no choice but to go to his leader with his worries. a patrol was soon gathered, and lionheart refused to stay in camp when he could be searching for his brothers. finally, when the sun was just setting and the patrol was thinking of calling it a day, they caught scent of frostpaw. as they followed the scent, the smell of blood was nearly overwhelming, and lion had rushed to the front of the patrol, legs nearly buckling as he gazed upon the body of his youngest brother. but something was amiss. there wasn't even a drop of blood on frostpaw, nor a scratch on him. dread curling in his stomach, lionheart had followed the sharp metallic scent of blood, and doing so he came upon tigerpaw, whose body was bloody, battered, and soaking wet. the patrol had gotten back to camp as fast as possible, and though things were shaky for a long while, tigerpaw awoke three days later. sitting in a den with his mother, father, deputy, leader, and medicine cat, tigerpaw told the story of what had happened.

"we were minding our own, hunting near the water, when we ran into a badger that was upwind of us. it attacked me immediately, as i was in the lead, and aside from the pain in my flank the next thing i could remember was the icy cold of the water." here tigerpaw had stopped, tears in his eyes as he took in a shaky breath. "frostpaw didn't even go after the creature, he came after me instead. but, he never learned to swim because he hated the water. he got me out, i was barely conscious. but, h-he slipped back in. i tried to grab him, i did, but i just couldn't. he must have managed to drag himself out later, i could just barely see him over the bushes. i tried to get up and go to him but i couldn't, and i think i must have blacked out again from blood loss. the next thing i remember is the patrol, then waking up here." at this point in the telling, tigerpaw had been crying openly, and lionheart had watched as his parents grieved for their lost son.

still, life went on in the clan, and it was four moons later when both tigerpaw and lionpaw were made into warriors. during the warrior ceremony, tigerpaw surprised everyone by requesting that his name be tigerfrost, in honor of their brother. the moons passed, and though sad to say, the siblings parents eventually died in the elders den from old age. it was as they neared thirty moons that tigerfrost met lily, a pretty calico she-cat that he'd met when she wandered too far into the forest. lily stayed with the clan for a while, and during this time the two cats fell quite obviously in love, and a mere half-moon later they both left the clan to travel together. though lionheart was saddened to see his brother go, he had someone else to fill the void in his heart. whitefeather. a beautiful, white-furred, blue-eyed she-cat that he'd known since his apprentice days. and at the age of thirty-six moons they were going to have kits. that is, until lionheart's prospective family died. whitefeather had only had one kit, a tiny white and ginger female appropriately named gingerkit. but whitefeather's body hadn't been able to withstand the tolls of birthing, and gingerkit had been far to small to survive the world.

it seemed like forever that lionheart mourned the loss of his loved ones, and since then he hasn't taken another mate. while it seems like the reasoning behind this is because he could never love another the way he loved her, lionheart knows that he is simply afraid that if he allowed himself another chance at a family, they too would perish before his eyes. and so instead the tom pushes himself to be the best warrior he can be, and now that the deputy position had opened he has made is no secret that he would like to fill the spot himself.

Accepted chateau

      froststar

      ᴍᴏᴏᴅ: happy, slightly unrestedᴡʜᴇʀᴇ: Highrock/her denᴡɪᴛʜ: nobody
      The older she-cat thought about this question for a few moments and then deiced that since they hadn't done much battle training that's what she was going to tell the apprentice that they should do."Well I think that since we haven't done as much battle training as I've like to of done, that's what we're going to do today. she said, confident in her decision. A loud screech caught her ears and she jerked her head in the direction of the noise. It was one of the apprentices. She for her apprentice to follow her as she sprinted over to where the she-cat was laid, yowling in pan."Applepaw? what's happened?". she said as she noticed the adder poised to strike. With lightning fast reflexes she saw Ivorysplash leap behind the lunging figure and grasped it's wriggling body between her jaws and bit down hard, hearing a crunch as it's body went limp. Seeing that the snake was taken care of the white she-cat grabbed the apprentice's scruff. She then preceded to drag the apprentice, ignoring what objections Applepaw may have. It was the quickest way to get her to the medicine cat's den without having her walk and spread the poison. She let go of the apprentice gently and let the medicine cat do her job. She was very inexperienced when it came to herbs.
