Crushing On: Blaise ► Male ► Surprised
- The electricity in the air was actually sort of frightening. It was almost as if Blaise and Hope were challenging each other to a duel in some way of another. It actually made him a bit uncomfortable, and Ryland shifted on his paws as he gazed on for a few moments. He had never really had to deal with this sort of thing before, and part of him was ready to crack a joke in order to defuse the situation. Would that even work though, or had perhaps something he had said had caused this in the first place? He didn't even think he had said anything all that serious before though, and that was the problem.
Ryland was actually starting to think that the two must of just gotten into a skirmish while he wasn't around or something. It wasn't like he was known as one of the most social wolves within the pack after all. He had a habit of sticking to his den because it allowed him silence and shielded him from any unnecessary drama. The curiosity over what it was about though was eating at him like a flea. Maybe this was just some sort of random stare-down sort of thing anyways? It didn't really seem like they had much animosity towards each other at any other time. He was probably just over-thinking this a ton anyways. Ryland had learned that he was surprisingly good at such a thing.
"Oh, right," Ryland said, looking up at Blaise with an adoring look that he was hardly even aware that he was giving. "As I said, you can always hang out with me, though I'm not exactly much like anyone else you're used to hanging out with to be honest." The brute looked at his paws for a brief moment, admiring the way the droplets of water he shed plopped down into the sediment to avoid looking her straight in the eyes again. He couldn't be more right about that last statement. If there had ever been two wolves any more different than one another, it would have to be Blaise and Ryland.
Ryland looked up from his paws and over at Hope upon hearing her speak. It offered a nice relief from the anxious feeling that was filling up every single one of his thoughts. Hopeful Eternity offered some sort of normalcy in a wolf who's thoughts were currently being consumed by love--something he had had yet to feel before he met Blaise. "That's be great, though I'm not sure how many tricks you can possibly teach me," the healer admitted further, turning around and jogging back towards the waterline of the river. He was right though, and he knew it very well. Nature had decided since before his birth that he would not ever be able to swim like a normal wolf. That had to be the only explanation for all this trouble.
He made sure to try to pay as careful attention as possible, tilting his head so that he was looking right at Hope. He was going to do this; he was going to learn. A feeling in the pit of his stomach caused him to look back at Blaise. It had a way of looking like he was asking her yet again to come join the two, though Ryland doubted she would. Blaise ran her own way, and he hadn't exactly come of as one of the most suave of wolves today. He dared himself to hold her gaze for a few more brief moments though before letting his eyes wander back to the moving water. The healer placed one of his paws in the water to test it. It wasn't cold, but he still shivered as he did so.
