chitto
─ ɴᴀᴛɪᴠᴇ ᴀᴍᴇʀɪᴄᴀɴ ғᴏʀ "ʙʀᴀᴠᴇ"
Image

. ᴍᴇᴇᴛ ᴄʜɪᴛᴛᴏ
This is Chitto, an wild mare who roams the rocky deserts of Arizona. She is a lone mare, and she is free like the wind. Her spirit cannot be tamed by humans or other dominant mustangs, for she will always have the recklessness of a young foal. Chitto is a wild one, and legend will continue to talk about her and the amazing horse breed as time goes on.
Chitto is a two year old lone made with a sharp attitude. She doesn't take kindly to mare-crazy bachelors or controlling stallions. She is content with her independence and freedom, and she will fight to keep it that way. Feisty and young, she has high hopes and dreams for her future. Chitto wants to be a part of that wild, wild west! Once you begin to know Chitto a little better, you will quickly come to terms with her bad temper. With a flaring anger, she is not a force to be wreckin' with. You best keep your distance when she is in one of her furious moods. But despite her really horrible anger, Chitto can be sort of a puzzle; she has a huge wall of trust that anyone must overcome in order to be considered loyal, and if that trust is broken, you can never regain it. And though she may give some the impression of a vicious mare, deep down inside she is actually not that cruel. Her heart can be kind like any other, but she just chooses to keep that part of her hidden.
Growing up, things were rough for Chitto. She was raised in a tough band of horses, with a commanding stallion that fought with many of its mares. Now most stallions wouldn't go to such lengths to be mean to his mares, but Chitto's father was different; he had a burning temper, just like Chitto, and he always wanted to have things his way. Chitto grew up with this image of stallions in her head, and she vowed never to become a mare in a herd. Ever. By the time she reached the age of two, Chitto left the band and ran free across the rocky Arizona plains. She never looked back on her old home again, and she kept moving forward.
Now you know a little bit about Chitto; and just keep in mind that you might want
to keep your distance from her.. Unless you think you can take on the challenge
of trying to tame her adventurous spirit.

{ Duchess

    Image
___________________________________________________________________

name;; Midnight Duchess is Duchess's full name, she will not respond to this name and prefers not to be called it. She doesn't often tell other horses her full name anyway, to avoid the risk.

nickname;; The preferred nickname is Duchess, and only that, she will not respond to anything other than Duchess, though she may gain other nicknames she is perfectly happy with the single one she has now.

gender;; Duchess is a young mare, a female horse.

age;; Duchess is around 3 years old now, but she was born in the early fall or late spring and will be turning 4 sometime during the fall.

herd / rank;; Duchess is currently a loner, soon enough she plans on joining a herd of her own. She hopes to become the lead mare, but knows it is unlikely.

personality;; Duchess is a shy, yet very cheerful mare who always enjoys company. She is very hesitant to speak at first, and is more of a listener than a speaker. She can be very cold sometimes, and will often ignore those who she doesn't particularly like. She can be pretty inconsiderate at times, but tries her best not to be. Duchess is also very fearful, and dislikes being alone or without at least another horse. She hates living on her own as a loner, and travels long ways in hopes of finding a herd she can join. Though she is very reliable, and lies only when she deems it is needed, but can also be very biased at times. Duchess will definitely stick by her friends side, unless she really believes that her friend is wrong in the case.

size;; Duchess is quite small for an American Mustang, around 13.6hhs she is lightweight on her feet and can move pretty quickly. She enjoys the advantages of being small, but she often thinks the disadvantages can outweigh them, especially if she is forced into joining a herd she would rather not join.

crush(es);; Duchess never really knew most of the stallions in her previous herd, she didn't develop any strong bonds, or crushes on them.

foal(s) Duchess has never had a foal, and isn't sure when she will have one either. Though she would love to be a mother, she gets very nervous she would screw up everything.

history It was a almost chilly yet sunny day when Duchess was born, Spring was ending and Fall was starting. She was born in a cave while her mother was hiding from the wind, Duchess and her mother stayed in the cave while her father had brought them food. The cave was a very safe place for Duchess, it was warm and dry inside and the herd often went inside it on rainy days. Duchess eventually explored more and more and soon moved out of the cave completely, only going inside when she needed to. She spent most of the days with her older brother, who would soon be kicked out of the herd until he was 4 years old when he would come back if he wasn't in a herd and was still alive to fight his father for the herd and its territory. This was the custom of their herd, so Duchess didn't think her brother could join a herd. Her and her brother now were part of a herd sort of, but she knew he would need mares and she wouldn't be one of them. When he left, she silently followed him and her parents didn't realize until it was too late. He realized faster than she expected, but she refused to walk back so he went on until they reached a creek. She enjoyed spending time with her brother in the forests, they traveled through many with little success. Eventually the duo crossed a small mountain pass, many of the rocks above were loose so they had to hurry and didn't stop until they reached a more safe spot to rest. She spent a few days on the mountain trail, they ate the few grasses they could find and wild flowers. One day, a chillier than usually day, they finally crossed or attempted to finish going over the mountain the rocks were much larger and much looser. A mountain lion had be prowling so they knew they had to hurry, Duchess was in the lead and she trotted across the tiny trail, her brother took the rear. The mountain lion had climbed up on the loose rocks, Duchess yelled to her brother but it was too late. The rocks fell down and separated the both of them, Duchess spent days looking for her brother but had no luck. She eventually finished the trail and wonders around the forests on the other side of the mountain. She has never seen her brother since the incident, but she thinks about him all the time wondering if he is still alive and searching for her, if he has a herd and family or anything, if he is even alive.

I take no credit for the picture above, if you would like it removed please PM me and I will immediately remove it.

B E R R I

Basics

Name ;;
Her name is Berri. It's a nickname. She doesn't like her full name, and won't share it. She insists her name is Berri.
Gender ;;
Berri is a mare.
Age ;;
She is two currently, but turning three in summer.
Breed ;;
She is pure mustang.
Rank ;;
Berri is a loner. She has no herd.

Appearance

Height ;;
Berri is just off 14hh, making her a tad under average. She is naturally quite a small mare though; she's very skinny.
Colouration ;;
Berri is a steel grey mare. Her legs are black, but fade up into a dark grey body. She has pale dapples along her neck and flanks that look like snow. Her head is mainly light grey. The hooves and mane are black, whilst her tail fades to creamy colour at the ends. Berri has brown eyes.
Other ;;
Her fur bleaches a slightly paler colour grey is summer. During the colder seasons it darkens again though.

Beneath the skin

Personality ;;
Arguably, you won't find a sweeter, better-natured mare than Berri.
Unfailingly kind and loyal, she will care and look out for any horse, regardless of their temprament. She sees the best in everyone, and will not label someone before she knows them - for example, if a mustang is considered "cruel" by others, Berri will not accept that until she has made her own judgement of them. Why would they act in a harsh way? It is her thoughts that no horse is bad; some are just effected by their circumstances in a negative manner.
She does her best to be fair and helpful, and tries to treat everyone fairly - even if they don't offer her the same in return.
Do not consider her as weak or timid though. Berri will fight to the death for those she cares about. She is not easily spooked. In fact, she is very brave for being a small, young mare. Finally, Berri definitely has a very mothering spirit. This is part of the reason she is eager for a foal.
History ;;
Berri was born in a herd here in Arizona. She was a late summer foal, and used to play with the other fillies and colts. She expected to grow up and have her own family one day. Unfortunately, life doesn't run as smoothly as that.
Her herd frequented a lake in Autumn, in which the water was diseased. As she was a late foal, she still mainly drank her mother's milk. It was this that saved her. The other members of her herd began to fall ill and die - including her own mother.
Against the odds though, Berri survived. As Winter neared, Berri saw little point in staying with the few Mustangs that were still alive. She went off on her own, searching for a more thriving, healthy herd to join.
Relationships ;;
She has been too young so far for any relationships, but this year, she hopes to get in foal. She'd make an undoubtedly good mother after all.
Relatives ;;
Any close relatives like her mother and father are dead. She hasn't had any foals yet.

S I M B A

Basics

Name ;;
His name is "Simba". He was named by his mother shortly after his birth. He has no nicknames.
Gender ;;
Simba is a stallion.
Age ;;
He is three, coming on four. He was born in late February.
Breed ;;
He is a pure wild mustang.
Rank ;;
He is currently a lone Bachelor. In the future, he may be interested in creating his own herd. Currently, however, he isn't ready for that amount of responsibility.

Appearance

Height ;;
Simba is 14"3hh at the withers, which is a little taller than average, but he is a stallion.
Colouration ;;
He is a roan colour: dark brown with paler flecking all over his body, though his face is mainly brown. He has a very small white swirl between his eyes. His legs fade to black (he has no socks) and his hooves are an average grey.
Simba has dark brown eyes, whilst his mane and tail are just off black.
Other ;;
He has a hoof-shaped scar on his left flank; the result of a one of his fights.

Beneath the skin

Personality ;;
Simba is a typical young stallion: young, proud, full of attitude and with plenty to prove.
He is confident, and has no problem with chatting-up pretty mares - though he does his best to avoid older, stronger stallions. He knows his limits, though that doesn't stop him from pushing further. He's the type that's up for anything...especially if it means impressing someone. Yes, he's a bit of a show-off, but when you're on your own, you tend to want a little attention.
Simba is genuinely a good-hearted horse. He has a sensitive side, which may have come from a long time being on his own. If you show him care and respect, he'll do the same for you. He'll do a lot for a horse like that. But trying to force him or bully him into something won't work; he'll just turn and walk away.
History ;;
Simba was born in a small herd somewhere within the mustangs' grazing land. As he was colt, his father, the herd's stallion, banished him when he was around a year old, so he didn't challenge his leadership. Since then, Simba has roamed around on his own terms, avoiding stallions yet searching for mares.
Relationships ;;
As a Bachelor, he doesn't have a herd or any mares. He doesn't want a whole harem to look after, though he wouldn't mind one mare to keep him company. He is very much open.
Relatives ;;
Simba's parents are still roaming somewhere in Arizona, though he hasn't seen then since he left the herd. He may have siblings but has never met them. He has sired no foals.

name;;

      Crimson Macabre. Simple as that. Well, actually, not so simple. My name doesn't exactly sound inviting does it, even if you don't know the meaning. Eh, I couldn't care less. If people come up to me and ask my name, then I will give it. If they stay, then they have gained a little more respect than those who would back off. Not a hard deal is it? I guessed not. Anyway, next question please!

gender;;

          Clearly, I am a mare. I mean, I'm pretty sure that I don't act like a stallion. It kind of hurts to know that you would even consider me a male. Well, I guess that's just how things are, people assuming before examining. What ever, next question.
age;;

          I am three and a half. Yeah, I'm young and to some, vulnerable. Luckily, I have my dear friends to always be beside me. Until of course a stallion snatches them away. . . anyway, three and a half years of age. Deal with it.
rank;;

          Currently, I am a lone mare, no herd, no commitments. That is, of course, if you don't count my two friends. Yeah, a herd without a stallion, strange. But we operate fine enough.
foals;;

          No foals yet. I have really only come of age to start really wanting one. But even then, I need a stallion to protect me and the foal if one does come along. And let's just say my friends aren't that keen on any more members to our little herd.
need-to-knows;;

          The young mare is a beautiful rich bay with a small and petite frame. She is only around fourteen HH and comes off as an adorable, vulnerable and easy prey mare. Macabre has one star on her forehead and bears no other markings.

          At first, Crimson Macabre may look a little stand offish. A first impression would be an undisciplined, unruly and rebellious young mare. Her father wasn't all that much of a role model and neither was her subordinate dam so Macabre had learned the hard way.
          She likes to cause a fuss and is very manipulative around other horses. She has an innocent face and a petite body, giving her that pure look and allowing her to deceive rather freely.
          Macabre is clearly your young teenage mare. She is a big flirt and loves to play games. But Macabre is unable to commit to causes and is known to be very unfaithful to who she travels with.
          A bad liar but a good thief, Macabre looks like a gift for any stallions but hold many traits that can make a male go back on their first opinion.
          It would be wise to learn of her personality before inviting her into your life to wreak havoc.
          And if you dig deep enough, she is just a naive, untrained little mare who is desperate to please others and is starved of attention.

Image
Image

name;;

      I was actually named Northern Blessing but when my dam died, the lead mare changed it to North Star. I hate them both. North and Star are both short and common. I really hate them. So, I like being called West. I know it's a little masculine but I don't care. It's better than North Star.

      gender;;

          U-hum! I am obviously a female you dimwitted mule! How can you not see that! Why do you even speak to me when you can not roughly define what I am! I am a mare, a female, the feminine side of the species. Next question please, and this time, only ask a question you don't know.
      age;;

          How dare you! One of the most insulting things to ever ask a mare! You are so rude.It's only my manners that allow you to remain here. And it is also my manners that makes me answer. I am five, almost six. Yes, not that old but I have plenty of fire on me so watch out.
      rank;;

          I am a herd mare with my two friends. Well, without a stallion, we're not really a herd. More of a group. But hey, I don't need a stallion to tell me what to do. I make my own rules, my own path and my own life. No stallion should ever have to do that for me if I'm perfectly capable.
      foals;;

          Er, well, none. I only ever had my father as a stallion and the rest of the time, I was alone or with my friends. So I was never covered. Not that I don't want one, which I do, but I don't think I'm ready. Too full of the need to be free. I like not having anyone to weigh me down. My friends can be irritating but they know I won't wait for them. They come of get left behind, their choice.
      need-to-knows;;

          West is a warm palomino with a big white blaze on her forehead. She may seem quite small, and she is, but her personality makes up for it. West has four perfect white socks, each of them even along her legs. She takes pride in them and likes to keep them clean. Her biggest pride though is her mane and tail. A bright soft cream that looks almost white in winter. She loves it and often flicks her head to shake it up and make a big deal of it.

          This mare is practically an older version of Macabre. Stubborn, head strong and very defiant. She is the one who teaches Macabre the wrong things. West is very cheeky and often pulls pranks or pins blame on others for her mistakes. She may be four, but she still acts quite young. West likes her youth and seems determined to stay in it.
          She likes to laugh at others for their misfortune and when it is her turn for trouble just laughs because she probably caused all the hassle.
          She has a few good traits, like the fact that she is brutally honest. Though that can sometimes be bad as she doesn't mind telling a filly that she'll grow up ugly. West can be kind, but only to those within her friend circle. She needs someone to tie her down, make her settle into a normal life. But while with her friends, that goal is very distant.

      Image
      Image

      name;;

          My name you ask? I was dubbed Dynasty. Don't ask me why this word came to be my calling. It just did. I cherish it well. Despite the fact I don't know what it means, it has a fiery and defiant ring to it. I have spent many years asking other mares for the meaning but none have known. Recently, I've decided that I like not knowing. It lets me pick my own meaning for it.

      gender;;
