Echo sat upright on a rock beside where the commotion was. Despite how loud everyone was as they called out and spoke to Femke, she was alone in her thoughts. Deep down, Echo was worried as she remembered what happened last time dogs crashed down from the sky. This just drove her to pursue the idea of getting into these new dogs heads before the Southern Pack did. Her hair bristled at the thought of the Southern Pack. Echo's lips curled up as she pictured Felle, and she instantly remembered everything that had happened. It was hard to forget when your entire family and pack was killed. This time, Echo knew they had to turn the Newcomers to good. Echo had full respect for her leader, Femke, but she was curious to see how a meeting was going to go between the other pack and them. She gazed off into the distance, where Roero had disappeared off to to go ask for a meeting. It was dangerous business to go over there, especially with the Meddler lurking around. A soft growl erupted from her throat, too quiet for any one else to hear but it was full of rage. Dezire. Echo new she had aided Roero's choice, and she tried to convince him constantly he had made the right choice but sometimes she feared he was having second thoughts. She turned back to look at the rest of the pack, her gaze softening as she looked upon them. The only ones left at camp, now that Roero was gone was Miro, Femke, and herself. Stretching out her old bones, she hopped off the rock she had been sun gazing on and sauntered over to sit beside them. She looked over to the Newcomers with a glare, then turned to speak with Femke and Miro without the Newcomers curious ears listening in. "We can't let the Newcomers go there without them knowing the difference between us," Echo paused, her tone hardening, "And them," she said as she thrust her snapping teeth in the direction of the Southern Pack. "We have to have a say before Felle tries to pull something. For all we know he could tell them that we are just trying to trick them or that we are the banished and that they shouldn't join us."

Kai licked at his wound where a piece of metal had sliced open his shoulder in the struggle to get out of the plane. His tongue tasted of salt water, burning his cut each time his tongue gently swiped over the crusted blood. He was sore from the tiring journey that had taken place in the last few hours. Now, they were all camped around with strange dogs from the island, and Kai had no idea what was going on. He paused from grooming himself, and tried to listen to what the island dogs were discussing. Without any luck in eaves dropping in, he wondered if they were even ones to trust. Why are there only three of them? Isn't that a small amount for a group of dogs to be living on an island? Are there more? Who are they anyway? Kai thought to himself, questions forming each time he gazed their way. He didn't know why he had chosen to come with them, but he figured these strange dogs were the only way they were to survive. Looking back at the rest of the plane dogs, he knew they wouldn't have made it off the beach without the island dogs help. Now, it just seemed like they were left to cook in the hot sun. He laughed to himself, What's better? Drowning in the cool water or cooking in the hot sun? Instead of going back to licking, his tongue lolled out of his mouth in a steady rhythm of panting. He wished for water, but then again, he would wish for a lot of things right now if he could. Kai spotted a black lab near by, and his icy blue eyes brightened. Maybe this won't be so bad if I could just make some friends, Kai thought to himself. He barked quietly, tossing his head in the air with excitement. His tail started to wag against the ground, sending the dusty desert dirt and rocks into a cloud of dust around him.

It had been quite a long time since she'd been outside with no humans in sight. Her brown eyes flickered with worry and uncertain, wondering what would happen. Will these strange dogs kill us? Are they like those City Dogs with no owners..? Her ears were perked up in alert, trying to listen in to the group of pack dogs, that was until, she heard a friendly bark. Kasey hesitantly looked over, recognizing the bark and stood. He's from the plane too, he must've had an owner like me, she thought cautiously. Kasey walked to the brute, wagging her black tail along the ground. It had been a while since she'd play around. Kasey bowed down into a playful position when she was close enough to him, and grinned, letting out a peaceful bark. "I'm Kasey! You were on the plane too, weren't you?"

"Who are all of them...?" He wondered out loud.

Kai jumped up to his feet, every muscle screaming against it as pain rushed through him though he ignored it as well as he could. He dropped his chest to the ground, leaving his rump in the air in playful stance. His whole body was burning with pain, and the gash on his shoulder started to leak blood as the scab cracked. However, no one would ever be able to tell he was in pain as he wagged his tail as fast as it would go. He nodded, "Yeah, I was on the plane! I'm Kai," He said, his lips curving into a smile. His jaw was open slightly, his breath heavy as this one act of playfulness had almost already wore him out. The fight to get out of the plane, and the swim in the rough waters had tuckered him out.

Fᴇʟʟᴇ
"The Tyrant"|Southern Pack Alpha|Location: Southern Pack Waterfall-side|Tags: Ace, Fox, Yuri

Peace. Tranquility. None of that existed in a waterfall. It roared as it spilled into the pool below, which rippled and churned from the amount of new water that entered it. Many would call it beautiful. Felle found the turmoil that the waterfall caused intriguing. Like the water, he fell from the sky, and caused many ripples within the life of the island. He made it better, stronger. Those that couldn't stay in the pool, left -evaporated, so they say. Now things were changing again -more were joining the pool.

In any case, this should be a good thing. This could mean more dogs for the Southern Pack, strengthening their forces in order to take out the Northern pack scum. Felle had been alerted quickly of the newcomers arrival -it sounded much like how he had landed. Now these newcomers needed some guidance, but seemed as though Femke's pals had already gotten their paws on them. Femke... Each thought of his daughter sent his stomach churning. Hopefully his Dezire would find out what was going on over in the North.

Now, Felle was sitting by the pool, the waterfall thundering behind him. His heart was pounding as his mind raced to keep up. If the Northern Pack had the newcomers, surely they had to be planning on taking them and bringing them to attack... after all, they'd outnumber his pack. He frowned at that possibility. Felle couldn't -wouldn't- let it happen. Although he only trusted a few of his pack members, he wouldn't fall. He'd asserted his control once over the southern mutts, and he'd do it again. One day they'd all be gone, and he'd have it all: Loyalty, power, and more.

"Ace," Felle's deep voice growled. Ace was a dog he trusted like a son. "Fox," He glanced at both. "Do we know how many newcomers there are? We must begin to watch for Femke's move. She will try to convince them that they are the better option... but we must reach them first. If she should gain their loyalty..." Felle rose to his paws. "I believe they may try to take us down. I want both of you to stay alert." He turned his golden eyes on Yuri, and narrowed his gaze. "Follow their orders, whatever they tell you Yuri." Felle hated to play the "waiting game"to see what was going to happen, but rushing in there alone may be insane... may be.

|Yuri|5 Years|Southern Pack|Fighter|

Did everyone have to be around all at...once? Nervous eyes darted about everyone's faces, flashing their whites. Were they...were they closing in on him? No, no. This was just a meeting. No one was-- No, no! She's definitely about to--! A flinching blink ended his thoughts in a flash. His already nervous ears pinned further back, and, from his head's lowered position, he cast a very calculated and sideways glance Fox's way. He watched her fearfully, making sure that he was just imagining things. Yes...He saw no teeth. At least, none aimed his way. Well, maybe he did see a sharp canine peeking out from beneath her--No, that was just a tiny little spot of white fur. Right? Yes. Well, definitely. He could see, after all, couldn't he? Then again, he supposed a blind dog would never really know the difference between blindness and sight. What if everything he saw was just imagined up? How did he not know Felle and Ace were not staking towards him right now, teeth bared and aimed right towards his throat? Yuri almost visibly shuddered, his shoulders slinking downward uncomfortably as he glanced lowly around, perhaps blindly, to everyone's composed postures. Well, he supposed he still had ears to hear with. He figured it would be a little harder to imagine sound than sight, right? If anyone was converging on him, surely he would--

"Ace." Yuri could have leaped ten feet into the air when the commanding voice of Felle pierced through that incessant, sanity testing drone of the waterfall in front of him. Yuri almost could have sworn he heard his own name called, but, when his paranoid eyes leaped up to fearfully appraise his alpha, he realized that the brute's glowing eyes were hailing the beta, and then his undecipherable stare, after Yuri flinched away from it, was sucking Fox into his exceedingly wide range of attention. Yuri just tried to stay out of that zone, not that he didn't want the attention. Did he? Well, not really. Unless that meant that Felle was running out of uses for him. Then he'd surely be dead. Then he would fear the lack of his alpha's appraisal--No, wait, he was already afraid of the lack of it, right now.

Did he dare attempt to grab it? No, Felle would notice him when--He nearly gave a cry as that enigmatic, now narrowed stare of Felle's suddenly sliced at him. Yuri's tail found itself hiding itself swiftly between his legs, and he cowered at nothing more than his leader's gaze. However, he wasn't stupid. He didn't let fear drive him deaf to Felle's directions. In fact, he clung onto those words with obsessed fervor, and surely for as long as he lived, such a simple order (one that was only to follow other orders) would never be forgotten in his mind. In fact, as he nodded, he took fearful pride in the fact that he could loyally recite everything that had ever come out of Felle's mouth. He remembered it all word for word. "Yes, my leader," he answered in his servile tone. "I will do nothing to displease you today," he avowed, and then, unsure if there was to be more spoken by anyone, Yuri's ever wandering eyes took to flitting nervously about his pack mates, his superiors, once more.

|Roero|5 Years|Northern Pack|Spy|

Roero had to look down to realize that he wasn't running. No, he wasn't, but his heart was racing. He could feel it beating against his rib cage as if trying to escape. The horror, it was palpable to him. He could never figure out how his heart actually managed to race instead of just stop dead every time something like this happened. Well, could he actually compare anything to this right now? Not if he counted the fact that he was going over to the Southern territory to specifically address its resident pack all because of some more mutts that just so happened to have a merry good time falling from the sky.

He resented them--the newcomers--, all of them. Couldn't they have gone crashing on some other island, or at least have had the decency to swim to some other one? Why this one? Why now? If they could have just waited until he was dead...He just always hated crossing the border lands. It wasn't that the mountains were so hard to cross or that he was so lazy. It was just that--

"Ow! For the love of--!" Roero yelped, feeling a particularly sharp edged rock slice into the weathered pad of his right front paw. He didn't jump around and yowl about it though. He just growled bitterly, hardly able to even hear himself over that horrible, violent pounding in his chest. Curse this mountain side! How he loathed it! He just needed Echo...Or maybe he needed Dezire. No, no one needed Dezire. Well, no sane or self-respecting dog did. Unfortunately, Roero wasn't so sure he fit either of those criteria... Maybe he just needed to be alone. He could see it now, complete solitude within island paradise. That would suite him just fine. It most certainly beat racing hearts and cut up paw pads and the sudden image of Dezire hiking her way from around the boulder above him. Wait...

Now Roero really wondered how his heart managed to not stop.

He froze, like a deer in headlights, staring wide eyed and her muscular and rippling form as it allowed her to deftly maneuver herself down the steep slopes of the treacherous mountainside which he had thought he had been traveling alone. It took him a good five seconds to pin his ears at the female who tortured his heart so, and he growled despite the fact that even he knew that Dezire was in no danger around him. He knew it the second he felt his bony posture, emaciated from his weeks spent without eating but a few scarce mouthfuls, shrink downwards submissively by just a fraction. "I beg you not to toy with me." He kept his dark eyes warily upon Dezire's much meatier form. It was funny. While he was weak of frame and she was not, he feared not a physical attack. He was more concerned with what rested inside the head of his healthy companion, for it was her mental prowess, not her physical, that could take every part of him down wholly. "I'm in no mood." Because he knew darn well that she knew about the newcomers just as much as he did.

|Maroochy|3 Years|Southern Pack|Prisoner|

There was a thin veil to everything that Maroochy had ever come across. It floated thinly in front of everything--soft, translucent, so perfectly seen straight through and yet so easily blocking the most crucial points of interest. Maroochy had been aware of this veil since birth, and it started with her mother, that beautiful white dog whose eyes were the color of blue that was just one shade away from being as white as her fur had been. Her beauty had been her veil, and it had hid away all of the cruelty and coldness of her barren heart. She saw the veil of strength that was draped pathetically, sagging, torn, in front of Felle's limping, war torn body, and yet he carried on knowing that it was an iron wall to every one of his pathetically shallow and mindless minions. She saw, too, the veil of kindness pulled over a young pup's face that had pulled her from the water of a river which had hungered to drown her, only for translucency to show her a traitorous and black heart that could not hide from her as that pup grew with her. Most of all, however, the thin veil which Maroochy found herself staring at for hour upon unending hour was the one which proved to be the only one which struck true fear into her, for no matter how well she could see through it, it still had the chance to kill her unless it was completely gone.

Unblinking in the darkness of a hollow cave, Maroochy lain staring at the fine, torrential veil which constantly poured over the face of what she always felt to have been her soul's tomb. The waterfall. It was a thin veil which hid away pain and misery, yet, like all of those papery veils of life, Maroochy remained the only one who seemed able to see through it.

Oftentimes, like now, as she stared through it and to a scene which it distorted through its watery weave and wondered what conversations its showering's constant hiss hid from her, she would ponder over other spiritual meanings which might be hidden within her entrapment by this accursed water. She often found it curious that it was not Felle or even her guard which truly kept her trapped, but life giving water instead. She would think about the horrible stories of the curses which her pack had said to have been placed upon her by the Spirit Walkers. She remembered being drowned because they said that, in her death, the water might cleanse the evil from her body and soul. She wondered sometimes if she had only been unable to swim because she had indeed been cursed. Now, she wondered if it were not also true that the only reason she was so fearfully trapped by water was because of its purity which would surely repel her cursed soul. She wondered, though, why she would not hiss in pain or melt away whenever it was the Felle wanted her dragged out into the sunlight if such things were true, and then she would realize that she was being accompanied by someone who was, at least, foreign and not dictated to by the same Spirit Walkers. Perhaps these foreign dogs had stronger Spirit Walkers, who inadvertently protected her from the curses of her own if only she were accompanied by a dog who was followed by them.

Maroochy, as she thought upon all of these strange curiosities, was, however, concerned by one thought most of all. How could she be the cursed and evil beast she was told to be if it was this pack which could be so cruel as to imprison and control her by brutal force? Or, perhaps, she would realize fearfully, it was that she was at last among her own kind, those cursed by their pack's Spirit Walkers just as she had been. Only, they had been evil enough to thrive in their curses, while she was beaten down by her own.
