Crew Z (pronounced "zed" rather than "zee" for unclear reasons) hasn't really been known for much in the past. Usually people get stuck there and never get transferred to another crew. No one's exactly sure how much of that will change until the crew's initial [whatever amount we end up starting with - some of the roles got filled Q U I C K] member team starts gradually getting more members and missions after the crew thinks up a game to help chores and tasks get done faster. Coincidence? Probably. But hey, coincidence or not, Crew Z is stuck together until the end, and they're gonna have a good time while they're at it.

They Walk Among Us is a roleplay based on the memetic game of late 2020, Among Us. The roleplay is one part slice-of-life aboard a spaceship with a similar situation to all those cooped up inside for the 20s COVID-19 pandemic, one part sci-fi adventure with space opera elements, and another part just outright shenanigans. It's relatively soft sci-fi and while world development may happen, most of the focus is on the characters and missions are usually one-offs for character development.

Game name and rules to be decided by players, though it will undoubtedly be at least somewhat reminiscent of Among Us.

• All standard CS rules apply. For reference, those are the clarified roleplay rules and the clarified roleplay form rules. Note that you can use more than one image in your form now!
• Non-human characters are a-okay and encouraged, as long as they're something you'd see in sci-fi, such as aliens. I'll also allow fantasy races here.
• Forms must include: a depiction of them in the Among Us style, using this (do not change the background, and please at least add it separately from your art if you're using self-drawn/commissioned art), listings of each of the parts (ex. color: purple, clothes: none, pet: crewmate, etc.) an anime/manga/cartoon faceclaim or self-drawn/commissioned unrealistic art, and if a faceclaim/not including the spacesuit, and a description of their spacesuit, along with all the other basic information you'd normally find yourself putting on there.
• Replies should be at least 100 words (in most cases), though you can always aim higher. If engaging in what is supposed to be quick game phase banter/less fun to describe game tasks, you're allowed to have more brief replies. This is the only exception to the rule.
• Replies should be relatively frequent, at least 3 a week, unless the rest of the RP is generally going slow (like in the early stages) or if you've PM'd me/said something in the discussion to state that you're going to be unable to do that for a period of time.
• Characters should be in their 20s. This being sci-fi, we are allowed to have younger astronauts than expected.
• Generally, a game phase should not drag on too long. The bulk of the roleplay should be less "playing the imposter game" and more "space adventures/slice-of-life, yeah!" If you and at least three other players want to, however, you can do your own little game phases that won't be counted as main ones.
• In-RP "game phases" should be decided on in the discussion. Not all characters must play - in fact, it makes it more fun if some characters are just walking around doing typical things while the others play the game - but in any case they should be agreed on.
• Henceforth, because some characters may not be playing and not everybody might have access to Among Us proper, the games will be roleplayed out in the RP. This may take some tricky description and roleplaying, but it is possible to imperfectly convert the game to the RP. Try your best, and if we discover it's generally too uncomfortable/tricky/etc. to roleplay the games, we'll have them much less frequently.
• Though some roles include jobs, others do not. Please specify one if a role doesn't inherently include a job! This includes: the emperor, the henchperson (recommended job: exploration of some sort), the commentator (recommended: communications job of some sort), and the ref (recommended: battle stations of some sort). The recommended jobs are highly recommended. I just didn't add them in the roles page because I wanted to allow a bit of wiggle room.
• No picking an already reserved/taken color. Yes, this means the last one here will have their color practically selected for them, but this should be alright. Refs are allowed to be with a different color pallete if you don't get your first pick. Also, no attempting to utilize colors from outside the game. All colors should be the colors used in Among Us.
• A "game phase" will have at least 2 players not directly participating once the RP is full. This is why the ref and commentator roles exist, but a player may volunteer to swap places with them (not swap characters but just what the characters are doing) for a bit if desired. The other does not need to accept, however. It is recommended that they do play upon occasion so the others can see how that character is in the game phase.

This RP contains multiple phases. There are "game phases," (based on the gameplay of Among Us, in which players engage in tasks and there is one-to-three "imposters" - it's really just a tactic to make chores more fun), "free phases" (doing whatever/slice-of-life content), and "mission phases" (missions off the ship/out of the base). There will be one overall phase that roleplayers are encouraged to engage in but don't have to, and individual phases, which are what the players are currently partaking in. There is also the pre-phase, which is only during downtimes or set-up.
