legend tells of a sea witch, whom curses anyone who dares
break her heart. disguised in human form, she roams the b
each-side, tempting young men with her imaginable beauty
and enchanting voice in hopes of finally finding true love, h
owever, once she reveals who she truly is as she enters the
water, that of a mermaid, the young men flee in fear of her,
and thus get a terrible curse placed on them in the process,
one meant to make them feel the pain that she felt of neve
r finding love, one in which eveytime their skin touches eve
n the smallest drop of water, they shall turn into a sea crea

an annual trip down to the lovely sakura beach has become
something of a tradition for this group of classmates, fam
ous for it’s amazing food, music, boardwalk, beautiful wate
rs, and soft sand. there’s truly no better place to go for a w
eek of fun and relaxation. what’s odd is some of the reside
nce, more so the men. despite the fact they live near a larg
e body of water, none of them seem to be interested in goin
g down to the shore. sure, there’s plenty of tourists, but tho
se who reside within the small beach town seem to be weary
of the water. spreading rumors of a nasty sea witch whom c
urses anyone she tempts towards the waves. although origin
ally this group of peers shrugged it off as nothing more than
a myth. after the first long night of partying... some of them
are unable to deny that some of the group have been starting
to act a little... fishy. perhaps this curse isn’t a myth after all

the shark . cursed . somnolence
among the first to receive the curse, he’s notably outraged
by it. so much so that he has made it his duty to hunt down
the mermaid and demand she change him back to normal.
competitive and temperamental, he is a snappy grump, an
d is well known rivals with the dolphin. hates the angelfish


the angelfish . cursed . molotov
he might be the cutest, but he’s certainly no angel. unlike
that of the others, his curse wasn’t caused by breaking the
mermaids heart, rather, it was his rudeness that warranted
being cursed. he is a brat, good at offending people, yet is
oddly sensitive to criticism. not too fond of the shark. . . .


the sea turtle . cursed . mahou shoujo
rather shy, he struggles to come out of his shell and is slow
to warm up to people. despite this, he his just about the
kindest young man you’ll ever meet, always intending to
help, albeit unless you‘re secretly a mermaid with aband
onment issues. has a crush on the cherry blossom . . . . .


the eel . cursed . ohm.
the only female who has been cursed to date. she seems to
be rather flirtatious and crafty, cursed simply for stealing t
he attention of a man the mermaid had already set her eye
s on, it wasn’t exactly her fault, yet she still got punished
for it. it may be fair to say she isn’t exactly happy about it.

the dolphin . cursed . Jen_
free-spirited, playful and popular among peers, he is kind
and sociable, but seems to have something hidden beneath
his outgoing exterior. in truth, he feels bad for rejecting the
mermaid, and wishes to make things right. he is rivals with
the shark and good friends with the sea turtle and orca. . .


the orca . cursed . kalopxsiaa
he’s the smart one. a man of great intellect but not of great
manners, he is especially cautious of avoiding water since the
outcome is... rather large and awkward. strategic in his wa
ys he likes to make a plan for everything. he can be sarcastic
and pessimistic, but tends to lighten up around the dolphin


the clown fish . cursed . guh-huh!
a wannabe womanizer, and honestly a bit of a simp. he’s just
desperate for love but always seems to fail. he tries to act
manly but just ends up crying in the end. not that he’s a co
mplete joke, if the time calls for it he’ll do anything for the
ones he loves, very protective and loyal. just wants love


the sea horse . cursed . lil spooky
mysterious, that’s a good word to describe him. the dark hor
se, an unusual lad who keeps to himself, made curious by the
rumors of the curse, he was a sceptic whom originally sought
to prove it to be fake. the mermaid said otherwise, now he’s
an unhappy lil sea horse, desperate to vanquish the curse . .

one of the fortunate ones of the group who wasn’t cursed,
she exemplifies innocence. kindhearted and empathetic, s
he wishes to understand others, her presence often settles
even the angriest of people. she is good friends with rose
and wisteria. has a crush on the one cursed by the dolphin


the wisteria . human . honey & spice
responsible and motherly, she is a definite mom friend, and
although nurturing, her protective nature can be rather smo
thering, if not suffocating at times without meaning to, she
is incredibly perceptive and rather suspicious, doesn’t belie
ve in all this “curse” nonsense. adores the water lily & rose


the sunflower . human . lalisa
happy-go-lucky and loyal to a fault, she is quite the energe
tic sort, lively and always on the move, she is an adventurer
, unafraid of most things, but not entirely stupid. she is a bit
of a troublemaker and enjoys teasing the clownfish but and
the sea horse. albeit in a lighthearted sort of way. . . . . . . .

the rose . human . wildsight
don’t let her fool you, she’s a feisty one. with a temper that
not even the shark is able to match. sure, she is passionate
and means well, but she often takes a tough love approach
and leaves most people questioning her intent. she is loud
arrogant, yet is good friend with wisteria and water lily


cherry blossom . human . kosmic
a fragile beauty, she is rather quiet, keeps to herself. she
was born and raised in this town, knows a whole lot about
the rumors and has even had a past encounter with the mer
maid. despite being reserved and rather soft-spoken at first
she is easily irritated when people don’t listen to her . . . .

the one responsible for all this, she is a lonely beauty, last of
her kind, enchantingly gorgeous. unfortunately, she also has
a temper that not even the god of the seas dare meddle with.
she genuinely just wants someone to accept her. but can’t se
em to forgive past rejection. also loves taunting the cursed

mermaids are ancient creatures, different variants of lore
about them spread throughout time, some good some bad.
regardless of the assumptions that may come to mind whe
n on the topic of mermaids, residence of sakura beach an
d boardwalk see them as vile, temptresses of the water, w
hom bring about nothing but bad luck and dark magic. alth
ough the rumors aren’t entirely true, the curse itself is de
finitely something to be weary of. if cursed, any water th
at comes into contact with the victims skin will result in a
n immediate transformation, in which lasts for about 5 mi
nutes.. furthermore, victims of the curse are forever bound
to the mermaid and thus, are forbidden to leave the small
town of sakura, stuck there until the curse is broken. how
the curse is broken has yet to be known. . . . . . . . . . . . .

sakura beach (meaning cherry blossom) earned it’s name from it’s distinct number of
well.. cherry blossoms. the place is abundant in them, but what makes them unique
from that of the typical prunus serrulata is the duration period of how long they stay
in bloom. unlike that of normal cherry blossoms, in which stay in bloom for about 14
days, the cherry blossoms here seem to stay in bloom all spring. making it one of the
many reasons tourists are a commonality around these parts. in addition to the lovely
scenery that seems to surround the whole town. there is also the boardwalk, all in w
hich overlook the beachside as well as provide tourists with enough shops, restaurant
s, small aquarium and theme park to entertain folks for days.

as far as food goes, sakura is one of the most well known for it’s large assortment of
seafood. many restaurants pride themselves on their exceptional and rather unique
menu options, shark and eel are especially popular.

along with the aforementioned boardwalk and amenities, sakura also has a fancy ho
tel that sits just as close to the water, even homing it’s own large pool, water foun
tain and other aquatic features, along with a walkway that leads straight down to
the beach. the sand and water down by the beach are always pleasant, and there’s
plenty if activities weather it be beach volleyball or simply lounging in the cabana.

sakura isn’t a stranger to the odd and paranormal, some visitors occasionally claim
ing to see “misplaced sea life” such as one instance in which a humpback whale so
mehow ended up in the hotel’s pool, quite a long distance away from the ocean for
a 40 ton animal with no legs.. another odd incident involved a hammerhead shark f
ound in the men’s bathroom at a local bar, as well as the time an octopus found it’s
way onto one of the water rides at the theme park. no doubt things are a little odd
here.

one of the biggest selling points is the towns local myth of the mermaid, or more c
ommonly known as the sea witch, often put on merchandise in stores for tourists,
depicted as a vile, hideous monster, and something to be feared, but also used as
a good scary story for a night with friends by the bonfire.
