- Tiberius watched as the preppy waitress fluttered about the bar talking and laughing with each customer. He couldnโt help but smile as he watched her. She was literally a ball of walking sunshine. He overheard the other male sitting down the bar ask her how she was able to be so positive. He couldnโt help but sit up straighter and focus on what they were talking about. Her response only confirmed what he thought about her. He had to admit he couldnโt help but be a bit envious on her look on life. Sure he knew that there were plenty of wonderful and amazing things out there, but he knows all too well just how dark the world can be. How much was hidden from the normal world.
โSnap out of it boy, Alpha snapped at him. โYou knew what you were signing up for. Moping is not something that my Champion should be doing.โ Tiberius groaned knowing that he was right. There were so many better things for him to be doing rather than getting lost in his own head. He waved down the waitress, Tessa, to place his order but before he could get his hand up his ears started to ring.
It wasnโt like before. This ringing was accompanied with the feeling like someone was squishing his brain. He felt himself starting to snarl before he quickly pulled his lips down into a tight, pained smile. He jerked his head up as he scanned the tavern searching for whoever was casting a spell. There were plenty of students scattered around that were mumbling. Whether they were saying a spell or talking themselves as they worked on their homework he wasnโt sure. The ringing lasted almost four minutes. By the time it stopped, Tiberius had to take deep breaths to keep himself in check. He looked around one more time to see if anyone stood out, but everyone seemed to be perfectly normal.
He sighed and raised two fingers to signal to Tessa that he was ready to order. He was going to ask for his order to go. There was something going on and he needed to figure out what, but he wasnโt going to leave without something for the road.
