Hami noted the way he smiled. It wasn't a complete smile but the way it was only half curved up was kind of sweet. It made him slightly less intimidating but she couldn't help but still feel like she should hide. Even after he was nice enough to give her the candies. She was already starting to feel a little more settled. She could hear the other people in the room now, calm enough to let her ears recognize the other sounds. It was nice having the candies from Hisashi.
When he spoke, Hami looked back up at Hisashi, her gaze locking with his for a split second. It faltered for a second before coming back as she smiled brightly. "Oh! Of course!" She said, her shyness suddenly gone with the thought of telling Hisashi more about spiritual healing. "It's not quite being wounded but being compromised. Dark energy attaches to the host spirit and weakens it," she explained, completely forgetting that she was intimidated by everything just a moment ago. "I'd love to tell you more if you're ever interested. It's such a fascinating topic, spirits as well as spiritual healing," the small healer giggled softly at herself, giddy to talk about spiritual healing. It hadn't even occurred to her that Hisashi had stopped himself short from saying something. She was too excited to talk about spirits in general.
When he spoke about where he had learned about basic healing, Hami nodding, looking back at the candies in her hand. It was nice to learn about him, even if it wasn't much. He then explained each of the candies, almost as if it was second nature for him. Just the thought of that made her blush in slight embarrassment. She was a healer, the healer chosen to come with the others to represent the fire nation. Yet, here she was, learning from Hisashi what each of these candies was for. As she continued to think of it, she began to sink back into herself, her confidence from before gone again. It didn't help that the man before her took one of the candies, surprising Hami, and popping it into his mouth with a toothy grin. He was so sweet, he really was. The only problem was Hami. She didn't do well with people.
With a soft hum, she began to play with her braided hair again. To Hisashi's question, she pulled the braid to her lips, hiding her nose in it as well. "I'm just... not use to it, I guess," she explained, muffled slightly by her braid. "It's quiet back home and normally I only see one person at a time... so," she began again but as she continued, her voice just kept getting softer and softer. When she felt like it was useless to keep going, she just stopped, pulling the tin of candies closer to her chest as well as her braid. Even as he spoke about how he calmed himself, Hami still kept her gaze down. It was nice of him to offer her some advice. She just wasn't sure if she would be able to try it. "I definitely wasn't chosen for my people skills," she mumbled again. When he introduced himself as Hisashi, she looked up again, stopping to rest her gaze on his half-smile. Maybe he was right, she didn't need to be afraid of him. She still couldn't help but still be cautious about shaking his hand. A simple soft touch as she nodded. "I'm Hami. Thanks for the candies, by the way."

The ride over was uneventful. Kiya had kept to herself, watching the sky as the boat continued on. She didn't mind it, after all. Watching the world sail by as the boat continued on was a nice change. It was peaceful. As the soldier of peace for the air nation, it was nice to see. She couldn't help but smile at the thought. Even though the world wasn't always at peace, the wildlife and nature were at peace with themselves. It kept her focused, thinking about how they had peace. She wanted the nations to be peaceful with each, with everyone. She just didn't know if that was possible, though.
When the docks came into view, Kiya had taken her place by the boat's exit. She didn't want to stay too long. She had wanted to get this over with quickly. She preferred to keep things quick. Especially with all of the others that had come with. Zeru, the little brother she never had. She had watched him grow up and even helped him with his bending when they were younger. There was also Jamyang, the seemingly shy historian. Kiya wanted to protect her as well. The soldier felt very protective of the air nation as a whole. Well, actually... most of the air nation.
There was always Nol.
It was as if on cue that the annoying scoundrel showed up. Just in time to get off the boat. She just raised an annoyed eyebrow at him but let it slide seconds later. She didn't need to start this off thinking of how annoying Nol was. Someone else can do that, later. For now, she would just be content with what would soon happen. Just had to survive the pledge that the leaders all took. Then she could maybe be a little more peaceful looking.
Luckily, she did survive. However, now everyone was socializing. Kiya was tense, slightly. She wasn't completely sure if she should try and approach anyone. After all, most of the air nation had gone off in separate ways. She kept an eye on each of them, standing by the wall so she didn't stand out too much. She wasn't too worried about the others, but she just wanted to make sure. She acted a lot like a mother, sometimes. So she just stayed back, observing the others as she hid against the wall.
