Hami didn't know what she was doing. She could feel her fingers playing with her long braid but her brain didn't quite register that. She felt like she could throw up, even after having lost her last meal over the side of the ship earlier. It took her longer to recognize that she had been spotted than it normally would have. When she did finally notice, she froze, brown eyes looking up to meet golden hazel. Hami blinked, frozen to the ground under his gaze. Hisashi was much taller than her, so much taller. She could have died right then and there. Somehow, she nodded to him. Silently staring at him, Hami felt singled out and suddenly all alone in the crowded room.
It was terrible.
She flinched softly, her eyes flashing to the tin in his hand. She took it from him, careful not to actually touch him. It was in fear that she'd crumble to ash if she did. Hami glanced between the small tin and Hisashi cautiously. She knew it was unlikely that he was going to pull something on her. However, she couldn't help but think the worst when nervous. She opened the tin, though, wanting to seem polite by accepting what the man had just given her. She was pleasantly surprised to see the candy lozenges in an assortment of different colors. The small healer blinked, glancing up as she heard Hisashi explain what each one was. It was fascinating, really. Although Hami was a fire nation healer, she was more skilled in spiritual healing. So, having someone telling her about basic medicines like these was quite interesting. It made her feel bad how little she did know, though.
She glanced back at the tin in her hand when Hisashi cut himself off. She fidgeted softly, a pout breaching her features. "A refresher wouldn't hurt?" Her words sounded more like a question than a statement. She picked up a single white lozenge, still keeping her gaze down to hide from Hisashi. "I'm more of a spiritual healer anyway."
As she popped the white candy into her mouth, Hami shot a glance back towards Hisashi. Though, she let her eyes fall again as he spoke, still very shy around the very nice man. She hummed softly, memories flashing of when she had lost her last meal on the ship. She also didn't like the boat ride here. "I was seasick on the boat." She started, rolling her tongue around the hard candy still in her mouth. "And everyone looks so scary here." She mumbled her words, not entirely sure if she wanted Hisashi to hear her. She really was scared of everyone here. Even those from her own nation were scary to her. She just wanted to go hide now instead of socializing.

Zeru let his eyes wander around the room, watching as the water tribe's princess and the Earth Kingdom's prince, along with the latter's lieutenant, were talking amongst themselves about who knows what. Speaking of, where was Kiya? The airbender looked around the room hoping to spot his friend but to no avail. Letting out a soft sigh, he rested his head in his hand in defeat. Zeru sat idle as he continued to glance around his surroundings; his eyes landed on Nol next. His other friend appeared to be chatting with a member of the Earth Kingdom; or so Zeru assumed. It seemed as though Nol and the girl were friends, but she didn't seem familiar which called for some questions. 'Later, Zeru. Wouldn't want to disturb them.' He thought to himself as he shifted his gaze once more.

Jamyang appeared to be talking to... the Fire Nation's Princess? Zeru felt a chill run down his spine from secondhand fear. Thank god he wasn't in her situation or who knows what would've happend there? Jamyang looked calm enough so Zeru didn't feel the need to stress too much. The last group of people that he spotted were two members of the Fire Nation chatting off to the side. One of them, a girl, was just about hiding behind the intimidating man that stood near her. Another shiver. The girl looked to be nice, nothing like the terrifying picture Zeru had made up of fire benders. The man, on the other hand, matched the image to a near T. Zeru's eyes went down to his tattooed hands that now lay still in his lap. Zero knew he really had to get over his fear, especially if this city thing was going to work out.

The young spiritualist's attention was pulled from his thoughts once he heard someone talking to him. His dual-colored eyes drifted upwards to look at the stranger who stood a few feet away. Zeru stopped himself from jumping up from his seat once he realized that it wasn't one of the leaders, though that didn't stop the boy from smiling at the older man. With a small bow of his head, Zeru nodded, "By all means, please do." Once the man, Guo, had taken his seat Zeru introduced himself. "I'm Zeru, from the Northern Air Temple." Not missing a beat, Zeru immediately began to ask questions.

"What kind of healing do you specialize in? How long have you been doing it? How young did you start? Do you enjoy doing what you do?" Zeru bombarded Guo with questions, his excitement unable to be contained. Truth be told, Zeru could be a huge ditz sometimes, and this was one of those times. The young representative had actually stayed up late the previous night trying to learn and remember everything about everyone who was present at this meeting; but now he was just too excited to even try and recall all he had learned.

Realizing that he might've been a bit too much, Zeru inhaled deeply before exhaling it out. It a much calmer voice, he said, "Sorry, you don't have to tell me anything if you don't want to." Though his voice was much more tame, there were practically stars in his eyes as he awaited what Guo had to say.

He looked young, but Guo was surprised to see the Air Leader was so formal, and yet his eyes glowed with youthful excitement. Guo managed a short nod to acknowledge Zeru's introduction before the questions came in rapid succession. There was a slight pause before his apology followed suit. He let out a short laugh and smiled good-naturedly. "Don't worry, I think sharing and learning go hand in hand." He clasped his hands in his lap, considering what he should start with. "I specialize in acupuncture and I use these." He pulled out two of his acupuncture needles and held them up, the light glinting off the tips. "I think I started when I was around 8 or so? But I've only held this position for a few years." Guo glanced around the meeting hall and saw that lots of people were immersed in conversations, most seeming to be amicable or at least pleasant. He turned his attention back to his conversation partner. He took a moment and noticed the tattoos that peeked on on his hands and remembered that that was how they showed who had mastered their bending. This young man must possess talent in spades if he was already a master at his early age. "I definitely love doing it. The feeling when I can help my friends by working on their chi and keeping them as healthy as possible, makes me feel useful, which, as someone from a low-class family, is still a sort of new feeling." Why had he said that? Guo knew the Air Nomads had a different societal structure, and he doubted the leader of the Air District needed, wanted, nor had the time to listen to his personal feelings. "Sorry, about that. How was your trip here? Have you taken a look around the city and the buildings? I haven't seen much, but it all looks really impressive"

The boat was under clear skies and, luckily, their journey had been relatively easy. Hayate had ended his training early because he felt his body was out of touch with his focus. It was useless to keep pushing when he wouldn't benefit from the training. Instead, he returned to his temporary cabin and spent the extra time reading the book he had started a few days prior to their departure. It was a volume he had stumbled across in the library when he was looking for some new literature. The book itself was written fairly recently, within the last forty years, but it discussed some history that dated back to to the early days of the Nation itself. Specifically of one group of humans that inhabited an archipelago and were known as "Sun Warriors" who developed the original firebending from dragons. The Sun Warriors went into hiding because of the war, and left an imprint on the world and society for the future of firebenders. Being able to learn fire bending from dragons... that would be amazing. His heart and spirits were dampened for moment when he realized that the civilizations that brought such knowledge to the world was gone, but continued on reading. The next session discussed how the Sun Warriors used bending and the philosophy that scholars believed influenced their practice. The final sentence of the chapter read: "The Sun Warriors believe it represents life and energy, as if there is a sun within every firebender." In contrast to Hayate's (and every other fire bender's) training of destruction and force, this approach seemed foreign and bizarre, even though it served as the foundation for his own practice today.

Hayate only realized that the sun was rising when he heard more people walking around outside his door. With a grimace, the young firebender got up from his seat and worked out the knots and kinks in his back as best he could before changing his old clothes for a fresh set. Considering they were scheduled to arrive that day, Hayate put on his more formal attire and checked that his appearance was acceptable before putting on his boots and stepping out into the main hallway of their ship. The final few hours on the water was uneventful and Hayate felt his legs take a few minutes to adjust back to solid ground. The princess had already gone on ahead, flanked by her guards. With a short sigh of irritation, Hayate jogged through the entrance to the immaculate city, barely taking time to notice the statue. He didn't manage to catch up with Akemi, but he arrived among a stream of air benders. The Earth Kingdom was already present. Letting his eyes flick around the room, Hayate assessed the space, the other people around them and noticed how there was assigned seating. His walked across the room with a straight back, making sure to take care to walk with a purpose and to carry himself properly.

Once the opening speeches and oaths were complete, Hayate stood up and took a few laps of the room, more so pacing and watching than completing anything specific. He got a brief assessment of the others, able to pick out the healers of the other nations and watch how the other leaders interacted with the others. On the start of his third lap, Hayate noticed Akemi was speaking to an air nomad- a young-looking girl with a winged, ringtail lemur on her shoulders. Hayate had never seen one in person and only knew of them from his sparse readings about the air nomads. He approached, weaving his way through the crowd, most seemed to move away from him when they saw him coming however (Hayate was used to that). He came up beside the princess and gave her a curt nod out of habit. "Princess." He turned his head to the young lady and nodded to her as well, his serious gaze flicking between her and the lemur. "Excuse me, but I couldn't help but notice you had a companion with you." Hayate paused, he wasn't sure what he should stay next, without coming across as presumptuous or weird.

Her struggle to get the lemur off her back was seemingly useless, as she continued to struggle Jamyang glanced at the impassive face of the red-haired young woman who'd introduced herself as Akemi. Her fire nation robes were flamboyant, to say the least, the sequins didn't match the fire nation woman's aura. The silence that stretched out only made the young Airbender feel more uncomfortable. What was she supposed to talk about, and any social skills she had were failing her. These were not the people that condemned her nation to death and yet Jamyang couldn't shake the sting in her heart and the growing alarm bells ringing in her ears. When she was researching the massacre that befell her people there were only a few personal accounts from escaped air nomads, where she got most of her information was requesting records from the fire nation and old outposts that had been created within the temples and across the nations. In all those documents it was all about the facts and that made her heartbreak. Her nerves getting to her Jamyang began to flex her toes in her boots wanting nothing more than to run right out of the room and back onto the ship. At this point, Jamyang had given up on getting Tashi off her back and of course as soon as the young Airbender took her hands away the little lemur returned on his own to sit on her shoulder his tail curling around her neck. The warm body perched on her shoulder steeled the pink-haired girl and she once again found her smile "do I address you as your majesty?" she asked tilting her head to one side. She could at least try to make conversation.
Trying to think of something else to say Jamyang noticed a tall broad figure approaching them from behind the cool figure before her. Taking a glance around the room Jamyang couldn't get any of her companion's attention, they were all deep in discussion or had their backs turned which sunk her heart further. The man who approached them was dressed similarly to Akemi but perhaps a little more toned down, he was just a little taller than her but the way he carried himself made him intimidating. He greeted the princess, Akemi, and then turned his cold gaze on her and Jamyangs blood froze. Violet eyes blinking trying to hold his gaze and failing, finding a comfortable position looking over his left shoulder. Jamyang could feel Tashi's ear flick against her hair as the man addressed her and the lemur, "Ah, yeah" she replied bringing a hand up to pat the lemurs head, "he lived in my dorm room at the temple and we've been friends ever since. His name is Tashi, he's actually a very common breed but, his kind doesn't live outside the air nation regions." she explained feeling a little more confident finally talking about something.

Leaning on the staff of his spear Tarฤธik watched his wall of water evaporate into a cloud of mist, Reo had always been a talented bender. Once the water dissipated Tarฤธik took a step up and walked along the edge of the fountain to his damp friend chucking at the result of his messing around. "I'd be forsaking my duty if you weren't prepared for an attack" Tarฤธik replied, a grin spreading across his face, "This has been the most fun so far." he admitted honestly as he hopped off the fountain edge. Ruffling his friend's hair Tarฤธik took a moment to think about Reo's question. Of course, Reo's eyes were sharp, there's no way he wouldn't have noticed Tarฤธik's reaction to the princess's speech. Why was he so blasรฉ about all of this? It wasn't that he didn't know the stakes or that he didn't understand the pressure they were all under. It was just easier to handle everything with humour. Chuckling Tarฤธik ran a hand through his hair "Ah, I wasn't hiding it well was I?" he acknowledged chuckling at his lack of facade, "Pressure is well and good, but I think we'll miss the point if everything is about the solemnity of our mission." he explained his verdant eyes landing on the figures cast in stone. He'd grown up with stories of the hundred-year war and the team of young kids that saved the world. He'd lived through the consequences of war and worked alongside Kiala to restore the southern water tribe.
Speaking of, Tarฤธik knew in the back of his mind that Kiala would've noticed by now that he wasn't there. Throwing an arm over Reo's shoulder Tarฤธik began to move the two back towards the meeting hall "Now c'mon let's get back to Kiala," he said giving his friend the side-eye, "if I have to stand there and smile so do you." he stated bluntly. His spear in his left hand and Reo tucked under his right arm, Tarฤธik marched them back towards the meeting hall. True these kind of formal functions weren't Tarฤธik's speed but he had made a promise to Kiala to help her on this mission. Pushing open the door Tarฤธik glanced around at the conversations around him and already felt a yawn creeping up his throat. Fighting his distinct Tarฤธik let Reo go and winked at his old friend "Go on, introduce yourself to someone." he told him jerking his head towards the many pockets of conversation that were now scattered across the room. His eyes falling to Kiala who seemed to be in conversation with two figures from the earth kingdom, giving Kiala a bow Tarฤธik greeted her and hoped that she hadn't noticed his excursion, though he had a sneaking suspicion that she had.

___"Prepared to attack? I will remember that next time," Reo laughed, tilting his head a bit. "I was trying to be on my best behavior... I must have missed the memo," he added, using his hand to dip into the water's gentle surface and spash up into Tarkik's direction. "I agree there... I felt a little trapped on that boat... I would have much rather taken a serpant or worked on my bending for transportation-" he shook his head. "You're quite good with ice- I'm sure you would have made a much nicer, more open design of a boat for us," he quipped, trying to be respectful of the generosity the capitol had shown them. Reo was probably just a little too free spirited to be in such a fancy boat for so long. Reo nodded when Tarkik made the point of not making everything about the mission, it was true, they did still need to be human.
___"Right," he agreed, standing up with his friend, laughing a bit as Tarkik threw his arm around his shoulder. "I can stand and smile- the princess is quite lovely," he said under his breath, knowing Tarkik would hear him just fine. With a smirk, he looked around the room a bit and sighed- if his mother were here, she would be forcing most of the girls in his direction, she had always wanted him to marry young so he could be as happy as his parents were, which made him uncomfortable of course, but knowing that she wasn't there to do it anymore just reinforced his loss. With Tarkik's departure, Reo suddenly felt a bit empty again as he looked around the room wondering who he could talk to without making a total fool of himself.

___The young man had been a bit confused as Hami stared up at him like a shaking rabit ready to shake out of her fur, under a hungered wolf's empty stare. He wasn't that intimidating was he? He assumed getting down on her level by squatting like you do with a child would have been patronizing, so what was he left to do? Keep calm, don't move to suddenly? Hisashi tried to pull both corners of his mouth up in a full smile, but still just the left side seemed to work in a half smile- which was better then a scowl he assumed. To his own relief her expression lightened up as she opened the tin.
___"Interesting, I didn't know you could be one and not the other," he admitted, his smile fading slightly as he thought about it. Hisashi had never really struggled with his spiritality nor did he think it had ever been wounded? "Spiritual healer... you should tell me about that, can you really be wounded spiritually? I mean when I walk-" he stopped and realized it might sound weird if he had gotten into his own experiences with his spirituality, they had been a bit different than others from his past experiance with discussing it. It was after all how he gained his emerald glowing flame, walking through the spirit realm. "Oh, yes, of course-" he cleared his throat a bit at her request of an explanation.
___"The villiage I came from had many elders, they all were used to the old medicinal practices, so I had the privilidge of learning from them," he began to explain. "Well, as I said, the yellow are ginger root, for nausea and sea sickness, so if you're still feeling queasy it might help," he offered. "Jasmine tea leaves are oddly enough a spiritual healing tool as well- they calm the body and mind so the two can work together with more fluidity. The orange ones are honey lemon, they are for sore throat and work together as an anti-inflamatory aid no matter where the pain is. Lavender is for anxiety, so I would take that purple one if i were you," he laughed lightly, knowing it couldn't be hard to be in her position. "Lastly, those green ones are Eucalyptus mint is for breathing hardship- and bad breath," he added, plucking one of the green candies and plopping it in his mouth wit a toothy grin this time.
___Hisashi didn't have bad breath, but a refresher never hurt anyone. "Scary? Why do you say that?" he asked quietly, knowing she likely had meant him too. "You know what I do when I don't feel comfortable?" he offered, only because he would never admit he was scared, if it were to happen. "I just tell myself, and remember that I was chosen to come here just like everyone else and I deserve to be here and I am humbled by everyone's company as equally as they should be humbled of mine," he recited his own peptalk he usually told himself in his head. Though he was big and strong, Hisashi was very insecure about a few things, one of which was his self worth, so he did understand where Hami was coming from. "I'm Hisashi by the way, and you don't ever have to be afraid of me," he tried again at the closed mouth smile, still only managing his left side as he stuck his hand out to shake hers.
~Lights on~

The young leader felt a wave of relief when the eatthbender smiled and laughed, happy that he didn't take it some kind of way. When Guo held up two needles, Zeru's curiosity grew. He was a pretty sheltered kid growing up, so he only knew the obvious things about each nation as well as a bit of history; but Zeru had never heard of acupuncture. The sight of the thin metal rods was a bit unsettling to say the least, but hey, Zeru wasn't one to knock things before trying them. The young airbender nodded along with interest, taking in all this new information and filing ut away for future reference.

Zeru smiled as Guo talked about how much he loved doing what he does. The young master always found joy in hearing others talk about things the enjoy doing. Doing something you love for so long must mean this man as has skills in acupuncture. Zeru raised a his brows slightly at the mention of Guo coming from a low-classed family. There was probably quite a story behind how Guo rose from a low status to a representative in such an important project. Right as Zeru was about to ask about it, Guo apologized and changed the topic. Taking this as a sign he didn't want to talk about it, Zeru rolled with it.

"The trip was as good a it could get, though I much would've preferred to fly here." Zeru joked lightly, his hand holding onto his airbending staff that was resting against the arm of his chair. "Not yet, I came straight 'cause I didn't wanna be late. But from what I've seen, it's all so beautiful it seems unreal." He recalled all the different structures he passed by earlier; how each of them seemed to fit in just right with each culture. Looking towards his conversation partner, Zeru decided to ask, "What do you think about this whole city? I mean, do you think it'll really unit all the nations?" Thoigh the airbender had hope for the city, it wouldn't hurt to see what others thought about it.

Derya- Water Healer

Postby bugiscool » Fri Jul 03, 2020 12:18 pm

Derya - 20 years old - Healer

Derya did not mind the trip to the new city. She was very much used to traveling and therefore quite enjoyed the ride by the sea. Derya did not stay in her assigned room though, she found a spot at the very front of the ship, where she could sit on the wood that just hung over the front of the ship. While some might think her crazy for risking her falling, Derya loved it. She loved the feeling of the salty breeze and enjoyed the sound of the waves hitting the ship as it cruised over it. It was a perfect place to sit and meditate. Her ears filled with the sound of the ocean and a smile formed on Derya's face. She stayed in that position for the entirety of the trip. Not knowing the people she came with was just going to meet them along with the rest of the strangers also traveling to the city. Derya wasn't going to leave the ship so quickly after docking. She waited, watching her fellow water benders leave. Her eyes automatically landed and followed the woman with snow colored hair. Something stirred inside Derya and while she couldn't figure it out she knew she would be keeping an eye on that girl.
Once everyone had gotten off Derya followed them from behind. She took her time, looking at every little thing on her way up to the gathering. Derya was not too excited to meet everyone she was willing to put on a somewhat nice face. When she thought about why she was there pride swelled in her chest because she was chosen because of her ability. The ability she worked so hard to achieve. Something she thought was better than some of the leaders here who were just chosen based on their parentage. She thought it disgusting that someone should have a better life compared to others who work harder than them, for just the simple reason of someone being born into a "rich" or "royal" family. She almost gagged at the thought of the leaders being entitled little brats who through their weight around just because they can.
Derya during the little ceremony stayed back, careful not to draw attention, to blend in, to be invisible. She didn't want to stand out and assumed she wouldn't with the three other water benders who were with her. Each of them could stand out in a room, with them all together Derya felt somewhat small for once. Even though her height was not small she just felt overpowered by their looks and personalities she assumed each of them had. It worked in her favor though because no one paid her any mind. Once it was over people started to mingle, she found a small spot near the wall where she decided to take up as her spot to stand and watch everyone interact. Her blue eyes switched between everyone, she tried learning more about the people she would be around.

___Reo felt a bit loss amidst all the commotion. He was missing his family, the small quaintness of the water tribe and the familiarity of everything he had grown to love about his own culture. Reo was here now though, in the capitol as the water tribe historian and it was his duty and responibility to be adaptable to this change... he was after all an ambient water bender. The ability to change shape and form should come second nature to him, shouldn't it?
___The boy with the russet hair, something pretty uncharacteristic to a water tribe member, looked around knowing he had to be strong, he needed to participate and he needed to make his presence here and leaving home worth something. Everyone seemed busy though, they all had their place and he had yet to find his. Stepping back, he leaned slightly to the side as he stood beside a woman who seemed just as out of place as he. "Wouldn't it be nice if you could just change everything about your own property as water does, so that you could bend into the right person for the situation," he said quietly, a smirk forming on his face as he briefly looked over her clothes, she was familiar. They may not have been completely traditional of the water district in design, but he recognized the origins of the fabrics and thread, they were from home and Reo felt oddly safe speaking to her.
___That was how someone who was a stranger became familiar wasn't it? Feeling a bit cowardly for sticking to members of his own nation, Reo sighed, hoping he would eventually grow more comfortable. Reo's Amber-brown eyes moved from the crowd to the water tribe healer. "I'm Reo- also out of place and not too excited to be here," he laughed a bit. Reo held a hand out as he turned, the wall that his back once rested on was now rolling onto his shoulder as he faced her.

Kiala nodded in response to the Lieutenant a small sheepish smile forming on her face "Thank you Lieutenant, but I wouldn't say I did it by myself. My people needed me as much as I needed them, without them I wouldn't have been able to do it." She said reminiscing the first day she had arrived to the South Pole. She had to be around fourteen at the time, the first day everyone came with their complaints and she honestly thought she was going to loose it. She was just a kid what was she supposed to do about everything? She also encountered a lot of people that didn't believe in her, with right reason. Sending a fourteen year old to fix a broken city was a risky move but in a way her parents knew what they were doing.

Instead of sitting on a throne and signing laws all day or having assistants do things for her she took matters in her own hands. Every single complaint that came to her she would deal with it personally, that was also the day she opened the castle to everyone. She needed to hear from every citizen and not have things be sugar coded by politicians. In order to be the leader of something you had to be a part of it to start off with, she needed to also prove that she was much more than a spoiled fourteen year old girl. If the city needed a new wall, she was there helping to freeze the ice for it. Food shortage? She was on the fishing boats. Instead of having representatives do the change for her she became the change, and the citizens saw that. It didn't take long for her to be respected, and citizens started taking after her getting involved in the community and working by her side.

In a way it also let her live for once, after being behind castle walls for most of her life training and studying she found she could be the leader her people wanted and be apart of something at the same time, not just be a political statue. Her eyes shifted to the prince attentively as he asked her about her Lieutenant she then gave Raiea a small smile, "Theres no need to apologize, I'm sure he'll be thrilled to meet you as well, he's right--" Kiala turned around expecting to see Tarkik and her tribe right behind her since thats exactly where they had been less than two minutes ago, but to her surprise no one was there. She shot a quick glance around the room, only Ren was still in meeting hall off in the distance. But both her Lieutenant and Historian where absolutely no where to be found which meant they had left during THE introduction part of the meeting which was literally the sole purpose of the meeting. You're kidding...

Tarkik could be a pain at times, but the only time she actually needed him behind her he wasn't there. Kiala very awkwardly turned back to face the Prince and the Lieutenant. She put her fingers on the bridge of her nose as her heart sped up if she could make herself disappear she would. A warm blush colored her pale cheeks as her mind began racing trying to think of what to say. A very quiet nervous laughter escaped her lips and when she realized it a shot of panic went through her eyes. She could already see her parents sighing in her mind. She took a deep breath and miraculously managed to go back to her gentle serious expression, although her face remained flushed. She cleared her throat, "I- erm, It appears he has left, although I can assure you he would only leave for something of mayor importance, I'll be sure to introduce you to him when I see him."... Oh when I get my hands on him. Tarkik and her where close, so it would be perfectly fine for her to soak him. If it were to be anyone else they would have probably just had a little chat, plus Tarkik know how important this was to her, so she would definitely get back at him for this.

Kiala was relieved when Raiea changed the subject, if she kept on thinking about it she would probably break character again. "I haven't been able to see the city, just the downtown and the fountain. Since we where the last ones to arrive we didn't get much time to look around" Her eyes shifted over to the entrance seeing two familiar figures walk in. Tarkik in Reo. Partly she felt relieved that he didn't just run off completely, but she was still completely embarrassed. She eyed him as he bowed. "Lovely for you to join us Lieutenant, we were just talking about you." Kiala absolutely never called Tarkik lieutenant she either called him by his name or a stupid nickname. So Tarkik would definitely know that she wasn't pleased with him.

Nol smiled a little when Tiki held his hand, it's like she really hadn't changed. She was still the cheerful girl that he had spent his childhood with, she always though highly of him. He couldn't say he hadn't changed although on the outside he still appeared to be the same kid he had been through a lot. He was happy that she didn't have to go through anything like that.

He listened closely as she went on talking about her theory on the water nation's princess. He thought about it for a second, he had also heard of princess Yue's story but honestly it just sounded like a fairy tale to him. Give your life to a fish and turn into the moon? Yeah that was as far fetched as it could ever get. He understood religions and such but the idea of spirits being a physical thing was crazy to him. He chuckled seeing Tiki's excitement and interest in the topic, "Come on Tiki you can't tell me you actually believe in spirits" he said playfully as h glanced over at her.

Sure Nol was in the Air Nation which was famously known for being highly spiritual. But honestly his whole time there he didn't see anything that could remotely prove the existence of spirits so he just focused on his plants. He refrained from getting into debates with the other air benders about the subject. Considering they already saw him as an outcast for not going to the temple when he was supposed to he wasn't going to make life harder for himself.

xxx๐‘นaiea smiled in response, a light nod of her head signaling her response. It was a humble response, she would've given the same, but she acknowledge the effort and work she had probably put into such a thing. Military training was one thing, but rebuilding part of a nation? That was something. But it was also to be expected out of World Leaders, if she had weight on her shoulders, how did the other feel? It was a question that would pop up every once in awhile, she was friends with Dรฉshรญ after all. It wasn't as if she was oblivious of such a thing, in fact she was oblivious to very few things. Like the fact that when Kiala had began to point out her lieutenant in the room, she had known he was nowhere to be found. She had checked off a mental list of everyone, after years in the military and with Dรฉshรญ, she had known what to look for when searching for royals or military figures. The Air Nation was the one exception to such a thing, they, as a whole, were confusing to her. Still, when she excused his behavior, she nodded simply with a smile. If she was embarrassed she didn't want to further such a thing, and she could only assumed her nerves were already ticked off when the Lieutenant was nowhere to be found. Raiea waved it off dismissively, "It is a busy day." She replied in agreement, though she already felt her nerves beginning to drop one by one. Were the other Representatives like that? She prayed not.

"It looks beautiful," She responded, scenery was something she could talk about. It was easy, and when lucky enough, there were a thousand things that you could point out and go into detail about with little effort. It served her well throughout the years, and she decided that now was a good enough time to test if it would serve her well in Beifong City. "The fountain itself is a marvel, I bet that took plenty of time, surely crafted by the finest." She began, going on about nonsense and she prayed that Kiala wouldn't pick up on it. She didn't even want to look over to Dรฉshรญ to see his reaction to her pathetic attempt at conversation. She could already hear his laugh and teasing voice. "The statues especially, they have statues of Toph all over but this is the best one I've seen yet." It was hard to hide the awe and admiration in her voice, and she opened her mouth to begin again, rambling on to possibly bore her out or make her even more interested in the conversation and have her ramble on instead of herself. Her eyes perked to a figure approaching them, dressed in Water Tribe clothes, no doubt the aforementioned Lieutenant, Tarkik.

Raiea had little time to stop the scoff that escaped her when he had approached the three, bowing as she glared daggers into his head. Though when Kiala would look over she would mask it with a smile, only leaving the glare for Dรฉshรญ to see as she visibly sent him annoyed looks as if willing for him to share her already dislike with the new figure. At Kiala's words she laughed dryly, making sure it was quiet before she brightened up again. "Lieutenant," She greeted, copying Kiala slightly with amusment. The two had to be close, and she could see she was not pleased with him. "It's so kind of you to join us. It's great to finally meet you." Her words were sickly-sweet, but they were truthfully sarcastic and filled with a slight annoyance.
