Hami didn't know what she was doing. She could feel her fingers playing with her long braid but her brain didn't quite register that. She felt like she could throw up, even after having lost her last meal over the side of the ship earlier. It took her longer to recognize that she had been spotted than it normally would have. When she did finally notice, she froze, brown eyes looking up to meet golden hazel. Hami blinked, frozen to the ground under his gaze. Hisashi was much taller than her, so much taller. She could have died right then and there. Somehow, she nodded to him. Silently staring at him, Hami felt singled out and suddenly all alone in the crowded room.
It was terrible.
She flinched softly, her eyes flashing to the tin in his hand. She took it from him, careful not to actually touch him. It was in fear that she'd crumble to ash if she did. Hami glanced between the small tin and Hisashi cautiously. She knew it was unlikely that he was going to pull something on her. However, she couldn't help but think the worst when nervous. She opened the tin, though, wanting to seem polite by accepting what the man had just given her. She was pleasantly surprised to see the candy lozenges in an assortment of different colors. The small healer blinked, glancing up as she heard Hisashi explain what each one was. It was fascinating, really. Although Hami was a fire nation healer, she was more skilled in spiritual healing. So, having someone telling her about basic medicines like these was quite interesting. It made her feel bad how little she did know, though.
She glanced back at the tin in her hand when Hisashi cut himself off. She fidgeted softly, a pout breaching her features. "A refresher wouldn't hurt?" Her words sounded more like a question than a statement. She picked up a single white lozenge, still keeping her gaze down to hide from Hisashi. "I'm more of a spiritual healer anyway."
As she popped the white candy into her mouth, Hami shot a glance back towards Hisashi. Though, she let her eyes fall again as he spoke, still very shy around the very nice man. She hummed softly, memories flashing of when she had lost her last meal on the ship. She also didn't like the boat ride here. "I was seasick on the boat." She started, rolling her tongue around the hard candy still in her mouth. "And everyone looks so scary here." She mumbled her words, not entirely sure if she wanted Hisashi to hear her. She really was scared of everyone here. Even those from her own nation were scary to her. She just wanted to go hide now instead of socializing.
