xxxxxDon't worry, Ren. You will be just fine, Shiang is going to take care of me...You've taken such good care of all of the north, it's your turn to explore and see more of just who exactly is out there in the world. I know that you will be needed there, so make me proud. Like the everlasting waves of the ocean which her icy blue eyes stared out at longingly, the platinum blonde-headed girl could still hear her elder's voice and feel a soft pat on her back as though the wind was hugging her lithe frame. She began to think of her brother, a bender, and a good one at that. Why he wasn't chosen instead of her or perhaps even to have joined her, Ren didn't know, but one thing was for certain she felt lonely without him at her side.

At least she did have one little guy to give her company, an abnormally small, polar bear-dog pup named Ju. Oddly enough, Ju was so tiny that he could fit perfectly in a dark carrier that was no bigger than that of normal puppy. Although Ju had his preferences when it came to people, Ren had been the one to give him a home when nobody else had done so, therefore he happily stuck by her side most of the time. With a sharp bark as the boat came to a stop, Ren picked up the polar-dog pup in her hands and grabbed her things.

The girl met up with those from the southern water tribe and quietly followed by their side, it just felt so strange to her, all of this really did. More and more as they had walked, Ren noticed the difference between the place she called home and where they came from now. The more she thought, the more she held subconsciously tighter onto the tiny polar-dog pup. Yes, she was so thankful to have brought him. When they arrived at the meeting hall, Ren began to watch the mingling crowd of benders and healers. She wasn't one to mingle more or less talk to strangers. Just being there in the crowd made her anxious to say the least, so the timid girl stood there awkwardly.

___ The sound of the water lapping at the edge of the fountain had almost been unheard, with the slightly louder sound of the fountain's downpour, Reo continued to enjoy the scene of his new home. That was, until water did what water does... drip. The young man smirked, he already knew who was behind the few stray drops that had fallen from the wall of water behind him. "Would you really soak someone on their first night in their new home... in front of of all of his superiors- oh wait- his superior is the one going to soak him, how commendable," he quipped, balling his hand into a fist by his side. Slowly, Reo extended his fingers, causing the water to disappate into a mist, still getting him wet, but not nearly as wet as he would have been. The redhead could have easily redirected the water wall to his leutenient, but he was too kind for that.

___"Tarkik, you forget I enjoy ambient bending..." he laughed a bit, pushing himself up from the edge of the fountain and turning to face his friend with a smile. Ambient bending was the practice of changing water between physical states. Liquid water to a solid or gas, and any other interchangeable pathway. "Have you enjoyed yourself so far?" he asked, tilting his head a bit as he raised a brow. "It seemed to me, that the Princess's speech was not to your liking?" he asked, curious if he was adjusting as well as Reo was, which was not well at all. The water tribe they belonged to had been so focused on generational living, being on their own for the first time was unsettling and it usually put a person off of their normal self, or most behaved self.

___โ€œThank you,โ€ a young man thanked the old couple on the island. โ€œI really appreciate everything you have done for me,โ€ he added with a smile and soft bow to the elders before grabbing the small bag at his feet. Hisashi had spent the last few years taking residence in their shed, it was the only place he could afford for the cheap price of manual labor and he had grown quite close to the pair. They often liked to tell stories of the past, and they had a decently large family which allowed him to be well socialized among many different ages and knowing them had only helped him get to know the island. Every family had their own set of stories, and with each story, it made him hungrier for a connection to the people in his culture. The fire nationโ€™s history, the culture, stories and traditions were all he really all he had, after losing his father and never really having a mother.

___That was after all, how he came to be the chosen Historian of the Fire District. His dedication was unprecedented to others up for the position, and he was glad to accept since he knew he had learned all there was on the island. Now, he could mingle with all the individuals from other parts of the fire nation, get new perspectives, and more history where his knowledge lacked. Hisashi was already learning things from the moment he left the island. Hisashi felt like he was probably the most lavish setting he had ever even imagined, from the boat that took him back to the mainland, to the ship that took them to the capitol city. The architecture of the buildings and statues was breathtaking and as much as Hisashi was a quiet, calm, and reserved guy, he could not help but feel the need to explore right away.

___Of course, there was the matter of the gathering with the other representatives. The young man tried his best to take in what he could on his way to the city, and of course not run into anyone by mistake. Anyone would have likely been a bit embarrassed about the clothing he had been able to come up with to such a formal event, but Hisashi was just happy to be there.
    ~Lights on~

The gentle rocking of the ship on the unsteady waves seemed to go in tune with the boy's calm breathing. In. Left. Out. Right. This pattern went on for what felt like only a few minutes but, in reality, a few hours had gone by. Zeru let out a small yawn as he rose from his meditative seat on the deck. He had hoped to settle his nerves before meeting all the important new people and meditating was a sure-fire way to calm himself. Sure, he was still somewhat nervous thinking about being in the same room as all the amazing people but that anxiety was replaced with excitement once he realized that that also meant new friendships. A grin found it's way to the younger airbender's face as he began to bounce on his toes. Soon enough the city came into view and Zeru's grin only grew.

Once Nol, Jamyang and Kiya had all come to the deck and the boat was parked at the dock, the group began to make it's way through the city. Zeru's mismatched eyes grew large as he gazed upon all the different buildings they passed in awe. Seeing all the different cultures present only added to his growing hopes for the city. Once the group arrived, everyone took their respective seats. The room was quiet up until a lady with white hair entered the room who Zeru assumed was the princess of the Water Tribe having heard many rumors of the seemingly spiritual white hair.

One by one, all of the leaders were called to recite a pledge before everyone was free to mingle amongst themselves. As much as Zeru wanted to go around and talk to everyone, it seemed as though most people had already begun conversing. So, rather than running the risk of bumping into someone unpleasant, he opted to stay where he was and wait for an opportunity to introduce himself.

It wasn't every day that Hami found herself on a boat. There were good reasons for that. One reason was she never needed to, really. Being a fire nation healer, she worked with those in the fire nation. She didn't get out much and honestly, with her current position, it showed. Another reason why she didn't find herself on a boat much was the cause of her sickly nature. It never occurred to Hami that she would be the type of person to be sea sick.
She was currently hunched over the side of the ship, one hand clutching the railing and the other her stomach. Her previous meal was long gone by now. If there was anything left in her system, Hami would be incredibly surprised. Luckily, she had gotten sick as soon as they left the fire nation. So, she had all of her belongings still with her and packed. So, she peacefully continued to be sick as the boat soon rocked into the docks. She would kill to get off in that first second of being able to do so. However, she waited. She didn't want to be ahead of the fire nation's princess. She looked pale, especially in her dark red formal attire. She was the definition of sick. However, that didn't matter now. She had to keep up with the others. With a soft release of air, Hami lifted her right arm, allowing the messenger hawk above the group to finally land on its master.
As they were escorted through the city, Hami looked around her. With Yuri on her arm, she was slightly better. She was still feeling the after-effects of the trip on the boat, though. With her body hating her, she was extra nervous. Once the fire nation had arrived, Hami was lost on what she was supposed to be doing. She fidgeted with her nails, looking at the princess, the lieutenant, and the historian. She faintly remembered names. If she was right, the historian was Hasashi. Even for being a historian, he sure looked intimidating. Why was everyone in the fire nation so scary?!
It seemed like forever since they had arrived. The leaders had finally finished with the pledge and the people in the room had begun to socialize. She paled even more, lost in a sea of too many people. She was completely out of her element. She knew most would socialize with those outside of their nations. However, Hami found herself shuffling closer to Hasashi. She didn't say anything, she just stood beside, somewhat behind, him. She wasn't sure if she would talk to anyone, even with her messenger hawk glaring at her in disapproval.

Tall, slender young man with amber eyes and natrually wavy black hair.
Role: Earth kingdom prince โ”€ Ability: Lava bending โ”€ Location: City meting hall โ”€ Tags: Raiea, Kiala

Hearing Raiea's response made the prince chuckle as he did what he was told and lead the way towards the princess. He made sure to keep a pace for Raiea to keep up with, otherwise, he would be zooming off with a bounce in his step. Though he knew that definitely was not appropriate at this time so he walked rather regally, the gold embellishments on his blazer sparkling as the light hit them fro all different angles. He wondered to himself if he was really ready for the opportunity to be part of a leadership council. Of course, his parents has taught him everything he needs to know, and he could never discredit that. But, was Raiea right? Was he too childish in the way he presented himself? Should he be more reserved, laid-back and less intense? Dรฉshรญ couldn't help that he loved to socialise, help others and want to do well for the earth kingdom, but maybe now was the time to work on being more like royalty than the commoners he rules over. The prince pondered many questions as they raced through his head, becoming a little less confident in his ability.
However, when approaching the water tribe princess, he shook everything out and put on a friendly smile. He quickly ran his fingers through his hair, brushed the shoulder pads of his blazer and fixed his posture. He looked around for Raiea, reassured to see her still by his side. When they were within appropriate talking distance to the princess, Dรฉshรญ bowed in respect. He spoke first, considering he and Raiea had advanced towards the princess first. "Dรฉshรญ, prince of the Earth Kingdom" he said to introduce himself, still with that smile plastered along his lips. His lieutenant went next, and then finally the princess herself gave an introduction. Dรฉshรญ had never met Kiala before, but had heard about her over conversations between his parents. The water and earth nations were actually quite close as their beliefs and morals were almost exactly in line with each other. It wasn't uncommon for the two to trade either, making the bond even stronger. It was just a shame Dรฉshรญ was never able to meet anyone from the water nation- not even those who came on the ships with their imported goods. His mind didn't linger on that for long though, as Kiala spoke again, but this time targeted towards Raiea. Dรฉshรญ smiled brightly- she was incredibly recognised not only in her own nation, but in others too. Having known her for so long, the prince often thought she came across as someone who never had a lot of faith in her ability. Kiala's comment should definitely lift her spirits.
"Raiea is definitely one of the earth kingdoms biggest assets. Without her, the military would be absolute chaos" Dรฉshรญ said to further enforce her greatness. "Pardon my ignorance, but where is your lieutenant princess? In the earth kingdom we have heard many things about him as well" Dรฉshรญ asked, hoping Raiea wasn't going to hit him for being so nosy. But by the looks of it, Kiala didn't have any of her tribe close to her, so he was curious as to where they could be.

Kiala nodded in response to the Lieutenant a small sheepish smile forming on her face "Thank you Lieutenant, but I wouldn't say I did it by myself. My people needed me as much as I needed them, without them I wouldn't have been able to do it." She said reminiscing the first day she had arrived to the South Pole. She had to be around fourteen at the time, the first day everyone came with their complaints and she honestly thought she was going to loose it. She was just a kid what was she supposed to do about everything? She also encountered a lot of people that didn't believe in her, with right reason. Sending a fourteen year old to fix a broken city was a risky move but in a way her parents knew what they were doing.

Instead of sitting on a throne and signing laws all day or having assistants do things for her she took matters in her own hands. Every single complaint that came to her she would deal with it personally, that was also the day she opened the castle to everyone. She needed to hear from every citizen and not have things be sugar coded by politicians. In order to be the leader of something you had to be a part of it to start off with, she needed to also prove that she was much more than a spoiled fourteen year old girl. If the city needed a new wall, she was there helping to freeze the ice for it. Food shortage? She was on the fishing boats. Instead of having representatives do the change for her she became the change, and the citizens saw that. It didn't take long for her to be respected, and citizens started taking after her getting involved in the community and working by her side.

In a way it also let her live for once, after being behind castle walls for most of her life training and studying she found she could be the leader her people wanted and be apart of something at the same time, not just be a political statue. Her eyes shifted to the prince attentively as he asked her about her Lieutenant she then gave Raiea a small smile, "Theres no need to apologize, I'm sure he'll be thrilled to meet you as well, he's right--" Kiala turned around expecting to see Tarkik and her tribe right behind her since thats exactly where they had been less than two minutes ago, but to her surprise no one was there. She shot a quick glance around the room, only Ren was still in meeting hall off in the distance. But both her Lieutenant and Historian where absolutely no where to be found which meant they had left during THE introduction part of the meeting which was literally the sole purpose of the meeting. You're kidding...

Tarkik could be a pain at times, but the only time she actually needed him behind her he wasn't there. Kiala very awkwardly turned back to face the Prince and the Lieutenant. She put her fingers on the bridge of her nose as her heart sped up if she could make herself disappear she would. A warm blush colored her pale cheeks as her mind began racing trying to think of what to say. A very quiet nervous laughter escaped her lips and when she realized it a shot of panic went through her eyes. She could already see her parents sighing in her mind. She took a deep breath and miraculously managed to go back to her gentle serious expression, although her face remained flushed. She cleared her throat, "I- erm, It appears he has left, although I can assure you he would only leave for something of mayor importance, I'll be sure to introduce you to him when I see him."... Oh when I get my hands on him. Tarkik and her where close, so it would be perfectly fine for her to soak him. If it were to be anyone else they would have probably just had a little chat, plus Tarkik know how important this was to her, so she would definitely get back at him for this.

Kiala was relieved when Raiea changed the subject, if she kept on thinking about it she would probably break character again. "I haven't been able to see the city, just the downtown and the fountain. Since we where the last ones to arrive we didn't get much time to look around"

Nol listened as Tiki talked about her bending truly intrigued, "Well if you're bending metal now, you've come a long way since the last time we saw each other, pebble thrower" he said teasingly but with a loving tone. Tiki was probably much stronger than what she thought, she's always had a strong spirit since they were kids. He was a little surprised to find himself in her arms. He hugged her back for a little longer then he probably should have. It felt so good to know that he would have someone that knew him now. She reminded him of simpler times, times where he wasn't so... broken.

He was very relieved to hear that sh understood why he had to do the things he did, Tiki was usually a very understanding person but who knew what could change in seven years. But it appeared as if she hadn't changed at all, which was something he was thankful for. A glimmer of excitement filled his eyes when she asked him what had gotten him the spot to come here. "Well turns out my plant friends came in handy. After I went to the Air Nation, I had a hard time fitting in because well, I can barely bend, and everyone else had been there since they knew they were benders. So I just stayed to my plants and continued doing my experiments. One winter we had a very bad storm that led a lot of cold wind our way. The elders where the firsts to get sick then everyone else just kinda followed. For some reason there are no medics in the air nation did you now that? They really thought meditation would send it all away. They kept getting worse, so your boy Nol cooked up a remedy and saved everyone! So I guess I'm the healer or something like that" He said catching his breath after the ramble.

He looked over to where Tiki was looking and listened to what she knew about the Princess of the water tribe. It seemed that it really wasn't just something his parents had made up. "Do you think all of that spirit crap could be true? Like was she really blessed by the moon spirit or is her hair that way because of a genetic mutation? he asked curiously more to himself really, he knew it was probably odd that he, an air bender was questioning the spirits but he never believed in it. "If so, maybe her ability to blood bend is more than what meets the eye? Last time someone supposedly had the blessing they were defenseless maybe this was a way for the moon spirit to keep part of itself protected?

___The quiet young man could feel eyes on him, from every nation. It was no mystery why, he always did look a little unsettling, then again that happened when you had to raise yourself. You had to be strong so no one would mess with you, and when you got tired of seeing others get picked on, you had to be stronger to protect them from the same fate you fought against for yourself. A girl with recognizable clothing in particular had been not only left her eyes linguring on him, but had been growing closer by the minute. The right side of his lips turned up slightly in a half smile as he looked down and to the side at her as she nearly had run into him- she would be safe to talk to- they were after all supposed to be their own biggest supporters and he knew he had to do the same.
___"For a healer, you look like you could use a healer," he commented. Hisashi reached down into one of his coat pockets and pulled out a small silver tin before handing it over to the smaller girl. Inside were several different candied lozenges, all separated by color. "The yellow ones are ginger root, good for nausea and upset stomach and the white ones are jasmine tea leaf, which are good for- well I guess I don't have to tell you what they're good for, you're a healer, I'm sure you know all about them," he said a bit flatly. Hisashi never knew the best way to explain things to others, he didn't want to sound patronizing, or rude but it was hard to not look and appear scary or intimidating if he didn't give some sort of indication he cared and showed empathy. "Orange ones are honey lemon, and the purple ones are lavender and the green ones are eucalyptus and mint," he finished explaining what each one was.
___Being that Hisashi could never afford to see a medic, he did a lot of digging in old remedies for small ailments and eventually taught himself how to make the small candies. He of course had to ask to use the kitchen from the old couple he rented his small shack from, but given that he shared with them when they were sick, it had never been a problem and it was a lot quicker and cheaper than waiting to see a healer. "Are you holding up alright? The boat ride wasn't exactly my favorite part," he admitted with a soft shrug.
    ~Lights on~

tiki gave nol a side eye in response to calling her a "pebble thrower". she might have been a pebble thrower back then, but at least she was a metal thrower now! even if the metal was still the size of...well...pebbles. eventually she would be able to move as flawlessly as the metalbenders in her home town, but for now she just stuck to the basics. her eyes every so often floated from nol to the bloodbending water tribe leader, as well as her two partners. she was almost curious to know what they were talking about, but her conversation with nol was much more interesting than what they had going on...probably.

all of her focus turned immediately to nol as he began to tell her of his specialty. she was blown away at his ability and confidence to save his entire nation at their lowest point. she could never do such a thing, but then again she had no knowledge of medical skills. being a healer was not something to live down. it was a high position of honor in the eyes of tiki. she didn't have the stability or confidence in her own skills to be able to protect someone, let alone SAVE them. the path to a healing destiny was severed by her fear of being relied on by others. she much preferred to be in the back with her books, teaching rather than doing. tiki immediately grabbed his hand after his spiel and said nol that's amazing! you're nothing less than I thought you would be. I regret not keeping up with you, but I'm so excited to reconnect! her hand slipped out of his and returned to her side as he asked about her beliefs of the "moon spirit".

she crossed her arms in deep thought of the possibility that the princess could have been blessed by the powerful moon spirit before responding to the friendly airbender. I suppose it could be true. I mean look at their past princess. she was saved by the moon spirit but quickly gave her life in order to repay her debt. her hair was snow white as well. princess kiala, I don't know much about her, but maybe she was saved by the moon spirit. or maybe her spiritual energy as a newborn was unworldly and the spirit saw great justice and power in her. the spirits work in mysterious ways, ways that even I can't uncover. but to be completely honest, I wouldn't think that a spirit would gift bloodbending. it's so dangerous and most use it for evil over good. I guess that goes back to the whole "what if he saw the good and peace in her and blessed her with this power to help bring the world some peace" thing, since the avatar hasn't been seen in a hot minute. it's really something she would have to share. I can come up with explanations all day but it doesn't make them true. falling deeper into thought was a possibility for tiki in the moment, but she pulled herself back to reality as she posed another question to the airbender. what of the avatar? do you think they're in hiding? maybe the avatar is no more...do you think that's the whole reason for us? because the avatar isn't alive? wouldn't that be an eye-opening situation.

The journey to Beifong city was longer and more tiring than Guo had expected. First, he had to travel from his current location to the nearest train station (which was three days' travel by foot), and then travel by train the rest of the way to Beifong City. It was his first trip of such a large scale. Previously, he had only travelled within a limited range around his home town, following his master like any other apprentice would do. But now, I'm not really an apprentice anymore, am I? That thought brought a brief pang of painful regret until Guo remembered that this mission was of more importance than staying within his own comfort zone. The young man truly believed that this project was a good idea, and one that the entire world could benefit from. He found through his practice and education of acupuncture that it was a well-established and developed field; and that every nation had their own sort of unique healing practice. Even though he had spent several hours a day reading and learning about the other nations, there was very little he could find that wasn't from an Earth Kingdom perspective. This assignment proved to be an opportunity Guo didn't know he had been waiting for- a chance to meet and learn from benders of the other nations. Hopefully the good that might come from this was worth all the nerves and fear he was currently experiencing. The other representatives of the Earth Kingdom seemed fully capable, which made Guo proud- he hoped to do a good job and that it would reflect on his home and everyone in it.

The final leg of the journey was accompanied by rattling and constant motion, something the young Earth Bender found quite interesting, and spent most of his time considering the implications of a longer-term stay in a cabin. How would he practice acupuncture if it was needed? Guo was well aware of how skilled the other members of his team were- he was familiar with the royal family and the prince's ability to lava bend, not to mention Raiea whom Guo had met onboard the train. She was quite an intimidating woman who took her job seriously. Finally, the historian, Tiki. Guo hadn't had much of a chance to speak with her, but she certainly seemed quiet and focused, and Guo didn't want to disturb her. They would have plenty of time in the city to get to know everyone else. If anyone needed treatment on the train, Guo would certainly be challenged to be precise while they were moving and boucing around so much. Fortunately, the train journey passed without incident and Guo stepped off the train with a sense of relief, knowing that he was not going to be travelling again any time soon.

As the group entered the city, Guo's eyes took in the surroundings, his mind was several seconds behind, so it took him a moment to register all that he saw. There was a statue standing before him, the group that changed the world, somewhat reflective of the goal that they were here to accomplish. As they proceeded to the meeting hall, Guo was continually impressed with each new building he saw. Once he was inside the meting hall, Guo found his seat and stood near it for a little while before sitting. As the others arrived and filed in, Guo found he knew very few of the others. His knowledge basically extended to the leaders of each nation, though Guo was surprised to see them in person, his imagination clearly had gotten the better of him. The most surprising was how normal Princess Kiala looked. Her reputation of blood bending had led Guo to believe that she would be taller and look a lot scarier. Instead, she looked like a normal young woman (aside from her white hair). Once the oaths were taken, Guo found himself wandering along the edge of the room, taken in by the detailing of the architecture. As he made his way to the section of the hall for the Air Nation, Guo noticed that the leader, Zeru? was still sitting at the table, on his own. Not entirely certain how to approach someone of such high status, Guo came up to The Spiritualist's side, a couple of feet away, and motioned to a chair. "Hi there. My name is Guo, and I am the healer for the Earth Kingdom. Do you mind if I sit here?"
