Warren glared up menacingly at her through dark emerald eyes hooded by his thick, dark eyelashes. The sword against his throat pressed threateningly up against his windpipe, shorting his access to oxygen. Pain flared in the back of his thighs and he could feel the steady drip of blood pooling around his calves as leaned back slightly away from her sword. As the snake came back to life again, he cursed himself for not putting enough juice into the electric shock, but he would not make that mistake again. Her words slipped meaninglessly through one ear and out the other. He had stopped listening to a word she said a long time ago. He briefly caught the part about his father, the venom in the words dripping out of her mouth as she dropped the weapon away from his neck. She meant to speak sense into his foggy mind, but it did quite the opposite, enraging him further, almost to the point of no return. He sucked in a clarifying deep breath as he faltered a little bit on his knees, the throbbing in the back of his legs making itself more prominent.
“You know, Lilith, sometimes you outta just shut up.” He retorted, the spite in his voice matching the confidence in hers. His sightless eyes scanned the area without luck, he became more frustrated with the loss of his eyes more than anything. He could clearly hear the sounds of more demons fighting with Lilith’s will against the demi-gods, who were more than likely having a hard time with the more advanced summoning’s. His attention was snapped back to the women in front of him when he heard running and what sounded like the tackling of the goddess. A smug smile wrapped around his lips as he identified the deep voice of his brother. Cringing at what Tobias whispered into her ear, he shook his head in effort to expel the thought from his head. Gross.
Warren staggered to his feet, snaking his hand around the edge of a nearby table to steady himself as he stood. The flow of blood increased ten-fold from the back of his legs as he shakily leaned against the wood for support. He could really use the help of his brother’s water healing right now, but he figured it would have to wait until he was freed up. He ran a hand through the dirty brunette mess that was his hair and then rubbed the back of his neck in thought. There was no way these demi-gods were going to escape if Lilith kept trying to murder them with all she had. He was going to have to do something. Right now, was not the time for killing, especially in front of a whole crowd of mortals who were currently trying to bust down the front doors. First, he needed to get rid of the slithering death that was her metal snake that would most likely bring end to everyone in the vicinity if she chose. He interlaced his fingers, pushing them back and outwards to crack his knuckles while rolling his shoulders back. Warren closed his useless eyes and focused on the power inside of him. His body drew electricity from the nearby broken pipes and loosely hanging wires that stuck from the ceiling, visibly charging his own black lightning up as it licked and popped around his form. It grew and grew until his body appeared to be a mass of ebony lightning, the deafening sound of thunder shaking the already destroyed room. If she wanted to play dirty, he would play dirtier. His arms stretched outwards, in the direction of the beast’s metal head, and let the lightning rip away from his core and directly into the mouth of the snake. Thunder boomed again through the entire hotel, the screech of the lightning drowning out everything else. The head of the metal being exploded into a million little pieces, effectively ending the life of the summoning. Warren felt the strain of exerting the amount of power he did, his legs shook as he grasped the edge of the table again to keep from falling to his knees. He swallowed thickly, regaining his strength slowly in his mortal body, much to his distain. He figured that would lighten the load of fighting the protectors had to do to protect their charges, not worrying about a monster snake and all.
He turned his senses to the other side of the room were Troius and Joey were still huddled underneath the bar, and once again he felt a small about of guilt for making them that way. Salem was fighting along with Liberty against the second round of demons she had summoned. What a nuisance. Warren growled in frustration at his endless eternal battle, running an exasperated hand through his mussed up hair again. He stood with purpose and meagerly made his way over to the two cowering males underneath the overhang of the bar. “Get up, you gotta get outta here before she kills you.” He muttered in hard, insistent tone, leaning down to speak to them. His calloused hand gripped Troius by his upper left arm, careful not to touch the one he previously broke. Yanking him to his feet, he leaned down and scooped Joey’s limp body into his arms, cradling him against his chest. The nagging feeling of doing something wrong pulled at his conscience as he turned to cast his sightless gaze on Troy. He opened his mouth to speak but thought better of it, turning on his heel and willed his legs to work as he staggered towards the nearest exit, which happened to be the back door he had ripped off. He did not bother to check of Troius was following them, assuming he would because he figured Joey was his assignment as much as he had been fawning over him. Warren stumbled out of the back door; Joey still curled up in his arms as he got down on one knee to set him on the concrete. He turned to Troy, the small amount of composure he had left dissolving and he offered him a small frown, his brows furrowing in obvious sorrow. He did not have to speak to express his resent to the white-haired male. “I’m not who you think I am.” Warren mumbled, more to himself than anything, as turned and ducked back inside the building.
