male || twenty-one || son of hades || tags; cleo (ky, myles, rose, harmony, reese, klaus)

indentRam gave a nod to the other male before he watched Ky head towards his sleeping bag. He turned his head, walking over to where Rose, Harmony, Myles, and the food were. He shot the three a bright smile as he collected a plate of food for himself and Ky. The small demi-god didn't have to look far to find Ky, he carefully carried the two plates of food over to where he sat with Reese. His eyes glanced between the two plates, though they were much the same, he handed the one with more food on it to Ky, "Hiya Reese! Here you go Ky, I'll be over there." He waved with his free hand started to walk over to where Cleo was leaned against a tree.
indentHe sat down beside his friend with a soft smile on his face, "Hey buddy, off to a sneezy start... He glanced up at the tree they were sitting under as he stuffed some of the food into his mouth. His dark eyes traveled over to where his sleeping bag was resting nicely near his things, thanks to Ky putting it away for hi. Shiram inwardly winced, he should've put it away when he first got up instead of immediately waking Ky up or at least before they headed to the river. He glanced back at Cleo, bumping the other demi-god's knee with his own. There was a soft whisper in his ear, but unlike at the river, he chose to ignore it. He knew better than to give attention to every single spirit he encountered if he did that then there'd be no time for him to do anything else. Letting out another soft sigh, he stuffed more food into his mouth almost choking as he did so.
indentRam gently put the fork down on the plate, with his free hand he reached up and grabbed the red rope that kept Soulkeeper strapped to his back. He had nearly forgotten to put it back on when he was getting redressed at the river. Though he felt safer keeping it strapped to his back, it would be better to have it in its more discrete form. He quickly finished off what was his plate before putting it beside him. Ram swung the sheathed blade to his front, he traced the three rings circling the sword's sheath and then tapped the top the hilt. He watched as Soulkeeper shrank around his neck, quickly turning into a dark red choker with a single charm shaped like one of Hades' keys, though not actually one, in the center.
indentHe turned to look at Cleo with a mischievous smile on his face. The small demi-god's voice dropping to a whisper as he spoke, "Do you think Klaus would scold me if I secretly stuck a flower in his hair?" His eyes darted from Cleo to Klaus then back again, it wasn't like he was seriously considering doing so but it was funny to picture, the son of Ares walking around with a flower in his hair. Just the image in his mind made him burst into a small fit of laughter.

God Parent: Aphrodite ▪ Power: Charm Speak ▪ Location: Campsite ▪ Tags: Rose, Klaus (Olympia, Myles) ▪
Harmony looked into the direction of the town at Rose’s words. She pierced her lips when asked the question, worry started to wiggle its way into her mind. “Well if we run into any trouble with people I can always charm speak to help us. Or maybe use it to get some supplies that we need. But if we run into monsters then I’m sure we either have to fight or run,” she said, her voice a little shaky. Her thoughts could only flicker to images of the camp when thinking about monsters. She just hoped that for once they got lucky and didn’t run into anything. But the chances were high, and fate was cruel. Looking back at her food, she continued eating until a voice brought her out of thought. Harmony looked up from her food as Klaus came into line of sight. Her lips formed a frown at his words, her eyes flickering to Myles. But she knew he was right. They couldn’t stay here long. If they lingered in one place for too long, they were bound to be discovered by something not so friendly. A demigod's scent could easily be picked up by monsters, and since there were twelve of them it was more than likely some already had. Olympia joined his side, only agreeing further and reminding the group of what they needed to do. Harmony could feel her fists clench at her side as she stood up, food the last thing on her mind now. She was being foolish. In times like these why should she be thinking about goofing off or having fun? She felt her cheeks flame in embarrassment, even when Olympia threw a thank you in her direction for the food. She wanted to say she didn’t really do anything, but nothing came out. She simply nodded to both Klaus and Olympia as she tossed breakfast aside in her mind, and started packing to leave.

Rose spoke up again to her, and Harmony smiled back at her question. “Sure, I was actually just about to start packing. Who knows what grumpy over there will do if we don’t get going soon,” she said, mentioning Klaus and laughing a little to try and get rid of the tension in her chest. After waiting for Rose to get her food, she followed her to the sleeping bags and started folding up her own. When she was done with that, she started shoving some things she had out into her bag. Her eyes peered down at the collection of daggers she was given for her eighteenth birthday from her mother. She could easily remember the memory. She had invited a few people over, and her mother had shown up out of nowhere spouting about how she was a woman now, and how she could finally date men, and bringing up her past relationships, which by the way was really embarrassing on its own. After telling her daughter how beautiful she was, she finally gifted her the daggers below. She might have cringed then, but she couldn’t help but smile at the memory. Even if her mother showed up once every couple of years, it was nice knowing that she was still looking out for her (in her own way). While a lot of people viewed her mother as weak or spiteful, Harmony wanted the opposite to be true for her. So she made it a point to be tough and bold, even if sometimes it turned against her.

Grabbing one of the beautiful daggers, she sheathed it on her leg, before closing up her bag with a huff. She finally got down packing and was ready to make it to the city. Looking down at her outfit, she groaned internally. She was wearing a white t-shirt with three renaissance angels on the chest tucked into a pair of dark tan colored high waisted shorts. But it was covered in grass stains, and her hair probably didn’t look too great too. She’d definitely need to find some new clothes when they went to the city. Fidgeting with her bangs, she made over to where Rose was packing and stood next to the girl and sighed. “I was looking forward to getting into the water. Too late now I suppose,” she said, swearing a little under her breath as she glared at the back of Klaus’s head for a quick second before she looked back at Rose. “I’ll be right back,” she said, before turning on her heel and making her way to where Klaus was packing his things. “So do you have any idea what our plan is once we actually make it to the city?” she said, a little bit too fiery. She crossed her arms, her chest tightening a little bit. Whenever she was around Klaus, or any intense person for that matter, she always felt the need to be extra loud or extra energetic. It was a bad habit, but she unconsciously felt the need to be viewed as strong in some people's minds, even if it came off as stupid or annoying. Which made Harmony cringed just a little at herself. As much as she tried to talk big or spew confidence, she knew that inside she was the opposite, which she didn’t want anyone to ever know.

          KLAUS ADHARAxxx
I.xcis male II. 25 years oldx III.xthe son of aresx IV.xtagged: harmony, the group

indentklaus threw an appreciate glance at olympia when she openly agreed with his words. he was glad that at-least someone agreed with him. they didn't have time to go swimming or sun-bathing. to be quite honest, their lives are on the line as it is and counselors back at camp like minerva did not sacrifice themselves just for them to be killed off by some monsters because they aren't prepared or are goofing around in a river. they have to at-least try to survive. they have been taught for years at camp what you're supposed to do in this type of situation. did they think it was actually going to happen? of course not, but the least they could do is honor the memory of those killed back at their stronghold by trying to survive themselves. they couldn't risk staying in one place for too long and get overwhelmed by a horde of vicious monsters.
indentklaus carefully rolled up his sleeping bag. the sight of the bag made him drowsy - he was up all night on watch duty, after all - but he was sure once they began to head out, he'd grow more alert. after rolling up the sleeping bag, he leaned back up to his full height, carefully stuffing the necklace around his throat back into his shirt. it once belonged to his mother, who died when he was a young child. he didn't remember much of her but his aunt had given him the necklace several years ago as a birthday gift, for she had told him she thought his mother would want him to have it. he had no idea what his mother could have saw in his father. ares was one of the most disliked olympians, primarily because he has beef with nearly everyone and his tendency for violence and never ending thirst for conflict collides with the more decent morals of others. not that the gods really have morals. they are all terrible in their own way, and every olympian has their own list of awful deeds they have committed over the course of history. but ares was the god of war, and he represents the violence, blood-shed and sadism of it all. he was not married but has been known to engage in affairs with aphrodite that led them to have multiple children, much to the dismay and anger of aphrodite's husband, hephaestus. must be awkward up there in mount olympus. he's only met his father a few times in his life, and they were usually brief encounters.
indentklaus' back was turned to most of the group, so he was unaware of myles' antics and ram whispering to cleo. that was probably a good thing. he liked ram and they have a brotherly relationship. ram's naturally good-natured and genial personality makes it hard for anyone to avidly dislike him. klaus liked myles, too - even if he rarely showed it - although myles' optimistic nature can oftentimes get on his nerves, especially when he played his little tricks. it never seemed to be coming from ill intent, though so klaus tolerated it. the son of ares was wearing a bomber cotton coat army jacket that had been given to him by his uncle, although it had stains on it and some rips from their less than easy-going adventure so far. underneath he wore a simple t-shirt, and along with a pair of dark surplus trousers he also wore some boots that helped him move efficiently through the swampy woodland they were currently standing in.
indenthe pulled out a map from one of his coat's pockets. he had bought the map when they arrived here in spain via boat. it was a map of the coast. they had originally arrived in huelva - one of spain's port cities at the mouth of the odiel and tinto rivers that was quite close to portugal. however, the group had quickly traveled out of the city and into the surrounding bog that met with the coast a few miles away. it was practically an estuary, which explains why it was so swampy out here. cities can be dangerous and swarming with monsters, though, so they had thought it best to spend a night or two out in the woods and prepare themselves for a journey inland. they were only a mile or two from huelva and could easily follow the old hiking trails back towards the city. he wasn't sure exactly where they would go next. they could travel through spain and cross into france. he knew they had to put as much distance between themselves and america as possible. they could cross the mediterranean and enter africa but they wouldn't have nowhere to go if they decided to travel deeper into the continent. they weren't exactly sure where they were heading, either. they were practically walking blindly through the dark.
indenthe looked up from the map when he heard a fiery question spit at him from behind. the rather thoughtful expression that was on his face immediately vanished. he was quite volatile, and his emotions could switch within seconds. his features fell immediately and he couldn't help but clench his jaw when he recognized the voice. harmony. dear god, it wasn't even eight in the morning! he slowly folded up the map and put it back into his pocket before he turned around to face her. the daughter of aphrodite was far shorter than he, so he had to look down on her to talk to her whenever she was standing near him. granted, he was taller than anyone in the group but some heights were closer to his than others. her question could have come off as curious but her tone said otherwise. he had no idea why, but it always appeared that harmony was trying to write herself off as more inviolable than she actually was whenever she spoke to him. he knew that because he's seen the way she speaks to others like myles or rosalie and she never acts the way she does around him. it was like she felt the need to make herself appear unchallengeable when faced with someone like klaus. it never really goes over too well, since klaus never hesitated to challenge her whenever she felt the need to act bossy. if anything, she seemed rather disgruntled. klaus' announcement probably interrupted her plans to have a relaxing morning. and did he care? absolutely not.
indentsurprisingly enough, klaus' first instinct was not to rip her head off because of her fiery tone. the son of ares tended to get triggered quite swiftly, and trying to engage him in an argument is the first step in waking up a sleeping dragon. klaus is never afraid to snap at anyone. but honestly, klaus did not want to argue with harmony at the crack of dawn on no sleep although that mind-set might quickly change within the coming minutes. sometimes, his temper tended to act ahead of his brain and he was snarling at someone before his thoughts could even comprehend it. he wasn't even sure if harmony was trying to start something with him because of their dislike towards one another or if she was just trying to challenge his lead. "well, i was thinking we could stack up on whatever supplies we're running low with, since if we camp again in the middle of the woods we'll obviously need to restock on canned goods and whatever won't rot or spoil without refrigeration. and maybe buy a new outfit or two since we all look like we just came out of a horror film. and after that... well, i don't know. we'll have to see." he thought about the map again. klaus tilted his head ever so slightly. "why? do you happen to have another idea to better our situation? since you clearly seem so confrontational this morning and i can't imagine you'd come over here on your own free will to wish me a good morning." of course she wouldn't, they didn't like each other that much for basic courtesy. knowing klaus' luck, he was going to get dragged into an argument but that was not surprising. and contrary to popular thought, he wasn't always the one starting it. he always managed to find himself in the middle of one, though.

ky caught the cigarette reese tossed him and a little too eagerly put it against the lighter. “thank you.” he said softly before lifting the cigarette to his lips. he took in a short drag of the smoke before putting the arm holding the stick at his side and exhaling the smoke. he usually liked to smoke a cigarette to take the edge off of a moment. he usually asked someone else for one, since he doesn't do it everyday and does not own his own pack. however, he did when he lived in greece. the legal smoking age where he lived was fourteen, so that’s about the age he started smoking. however, when he moved to america after his mother passed, he stopped doing it on a daily basis. his mother also detested him smoking immensely, but then she turned around and did it herself. he mentally laughed at what his mother might say to him if she was there. “κύρος, βγάλτε τον καρκίνο από το στόμα σας! (kyros, get that cancer stick out of your mouth!)”
ky was dragged out of his thoughts of his late mother by reese coming to his feet. he thought about how to answer reese’s question. he honestly had so many things running through his mind. he decided to go with the easiest thing to converse about. before words came out of his mouth however he noticed reese biting his lip for whatever reason and readjusting his clothing for the weather. a slight blush fell upon ky’s face. he raised the cigarette back up to his lips and this time took in a long drag of smoke. he the lowered his arm once again. “i-uh. ya know just thinking about how this all gonna play out, and how klaus barking orders helps with anything.” he said. just as ky finished his sentence ram started walking their way. he smiled when he saw the full plates he was carrying. “thanks ram. want me to carry your stuff when we get out of here?” he said while grabbing the plate with his left hand. he then dropped the cigarette to the ground and stomped it out. his eyes turned light blue as he drew a tad bit of moisture out of the ground to make sure no tiny fires caught on the ground. ky looked around at the other demi-gods as reese spoke. he noticed most of them were dressed for colder weather, and there he was with his chest exposed, shirt slung over his shoulder, wearing cargo shorts and flips flops. he laughed internally once more. colder weather never really bothered ky as much as it did others. while looking around, he overheard a conversation between klaus and harmony. he could feel the tension growing in their voices, and it wasn’t the good kind. he decided he would sit this one out and just watch. he took a bite out of the eggs and another out of the bacon.

At Klaus’s response, Harmony couldn’t help but scoff. She looked up at him at his full height, hoping she didn’t look too small. Sure, she was intimidated by the guy. He was over a foot taller than her. But honestly she didn’t really care at this point. Everything was a mess. They’d been wandering through Spain after escaping the United states, and by now she was starting to get impatient. She wanted to know what they were going to do about everything going on. They couldn’t keep sitting on their butts until all the monsters in the world went poof. Rolling her eyes at his little remark at the end, she smiled tightly before it quickly turned into a scowl as she looked up at the young man. “Calm down. Don’t get all insecure just because I asked you a question,” she huffed. “We’ve been wandering around for forever now, and I think it’s time we, I don’t know, come up with a solid plan of action on what we're going to do? Our parents are nowhere to be found, and we’re just wandering around aimlessly. We should at least have a solid course on where we're going, or at least try to find someone that can help us figure out what’s going on.

Thinking back on it now, everything did seem so strange. All the camps getting attacked at once, that had to be planned. And afterwards not one word from the gods? She knew that they were busy of course, but something like this they’d surely send some kind of message. It was all too strange, and it felt strange too. Something was off for sure, Harmony just didn’t know what. Someone was clearly planning something, and the first part of their plan had already gone by smoothly. Harmony clenched her fists. This was personal now. Most of her friends were probably dead, all her half siblings were probably either dead or gone. She’d most likely never see them again, not until whatever was going on was over. Klaus was right about one thing. This was serious. And of course she felt foolish for wanting to relax and have fun at a time like this. Her cheeks would heat up with shame just thinking about how she wanted to relax while all her friends had died. Harmony guessed she was just trying to strive for some kind of normal in all the chaos. After all, it was hard to be angry and strong all the time. It was exhausting actually. She wanted revenge so bad that she thought she was going to explode. Now wasn’t the time to be angry though, it was the time to be smart about things and hopefully stay alive long enough to get some kind of justice. Her shoulders slump a tad at the thought of her friends, and her thoughts seemed to turn more sad. She hated being emotional at times like these. Why had she even come over here if she was just going to end up bickering with Klaus.

Keeping her face straight, she continued. "Whatever. I don't want to bicker or do whatever this is. We should just sort something out with everyone in the group before something happens.." Turning on her heel and away from the temperamental young man, she made her way back to her bag and swung it over her shoulder. That could have gone more smoothly, but Harmony knew that she wasn't just going to blindly follow like a little duckling. She needed to know what they were going to do. And probably everyone in the group wanted to sort out the same thing. Swallowing her emotions, she let herself space out and think of more pleasant things then her friends being murdered. Like a hot shower, or decent clothes.

xthe son of hephaestus ✦ male ✦ twenty-four ✦ mentioned: klaus & harmony ✦ tagged: kyros & ram
    ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

spacehe offered ram a small wave, the corners of his mouth quirking up into a grin. "hey, ram," reese greeted, watching as he handed a plate packed with eggs and bacon over to ky. his stomach had settled down a bit, and he was glad to find that he didn't feel queasy just by eyeing the food his friend now held. in spite of this, he still wasn't hungry, and would likely wait until noon before finding something to eat. he took another drag, yawning slightly as kyros began to answer his question.

space"understandable," he chuckled, pinching the end of his cigarette with his fingers and tossing it down into the damp grass. "klaus stresses me out sometimes, if i'm being honest. dude needs to learn how to chill out." he cracked his knuckles, the pops echoing through the trees. he moved over a few feet, where the little belongings he had left were sprawled out across the leaves. crouching, reese began to roll up his sleeping bag, forcefully shoving it into his bag with a few exasperated puffs of breath. reaching into one of the side pockets, he pulled out his crossbow, which had been folded in at the sides and, if far enough away, looked somewhat like an umbrella.

spacereese swung it around for a moment before clipping it to the waistband of his pants. he then made sure that both his daggers were sheathed, and, once satisfied, shouldered his bag and moved back over to where ky was standing. the man followed his gaze to where klaus and harmony were staring each other down, tension practically radiating from where the pair stood. "would ya look at that, they're at it again! and this early, too!" reese exclaimed, crossing his arms over his torso as he listened to them shoot retorts back and forth. "i think i'm gonna lose it if this keeps on happening. they just need to learn how to agree to disagree." though, the task was much easier said than done. klaus just wasn't easy to get along with, as reese had discovered over the course of the past couple weeks. he knew that harmony had been the one to provoke klaus in the first place, but the fact that the two had continued to argue when they could have dropped the topic altogether was a bit amusing.

spacesnorting slightly, he pulled his eyes away from their bickering and instead focused on the other conversations happening. from what he had gathered, they would be heading into the nearby city to restock supplies. it was a good plan, seeing as the group was running low on quite a few things, but the idea of entering such a crowded area agitated reese. a group of twelve demi-gods would certainly gain the attention of any monsters in the surrounding areas, and they'd be exposed as soon as they left the forest. plus, reese certainly didn't have any money on him, so unless he could buy items with the lint in his pockets, or another member of the group could afford to get him a few things, then he'd have to steal.

space"there are bound to be monsters in the city, hopefully we don't run into any," he commented, fidgeting with the straps on his backpack. "oh, i probably just jinxed it, didn't i?" reese began to mutter incoherent curses, reaching over to one of the nearby trees and knocking on the wood. sure, the action was only rumored to prevent a statement from happening, but when he considered the situation the group was in, they could use all of the luck they could get.

spacehe briefly glanced back over towards ky, laughter bubbling up from the back of his throat. "hold on, how are you not cold? cause i'm freezing." he snickered at his over-exaggerated disclosure, tone heavily laced with amusement. sure, the light breeze felt more like a harsh wind against his skin, but he was, for the most part, warm.

finished packing, olympia carried her small pack in one hand and her spear in the other. the weapon was solid and familiar in her hand, the weight perfectly fit for her. she had tried using a sword but had always found them to be awkward fitting in her hand. they were either too big or too flimsy so this turned her to spears. some could say it was love at first sight.

with the others awake and moving about, olympia made her way over to myles and dropped the bag beside her. "hello stranger." she met the man with a gleam in her eyes as she spoke. "how's this fine morning treating you?" so far, everything had been running quite smoothly. yes, the group wasn't in the best of shape but nothing had attacked them in the night so to her that was a success. for the most part. they would need to stop again at dusk but with little to no money, it wasn't looking likely the group would be staying at a hotel. o wanted to do something for the others though, a morale booster you could say. it wouldn't surprise the woman if they weren't up to much these days so maybe it was time for her to find something good for them. she wished she could take away their pain but she knew that wasn't possible. trust her, she's tried to before. "picture this: everyone sitting comfortably by a fire and you serenading us with your sweet, sweet music. oh, how i would dance under the stars." she spoke in an airy and dreamy voice, a laugh hiding underneath each word that hinted at her joking manner. the image she painted was cheesy, one you could find in a hallmark movie. "wouldn't that be nice." she shook her head, as if brushing away the daydream.

o was taken aback by the sound of harmony's and klaus' voices. they were faint but it was unusual for them to be speaking together, especially at a time so early in the morning. during her time with the group, olympia noticed these two mixed together like water and oil. it wasn't only harmony who did not get along with the man. oh no, there were others as well. olympia had grown to have a love hate relationship with klaus and as confusing as it already was she was unsure of exactly how she felt towards him. as if she didn't have enough of her plate already! they were so trivial though, her feelings. olympia preferred to ignore these every chance she got. it was best this way. "got any positive to my negative for klaus and harmony speaking to each other?" olympia and myles had an ongoing game, where she would give him a negative and he would have to turn the situation into a positive. at times, his answers amazed him.

despite not sleeping well the past few nights, willa always felt recharged to a certain extent by the morning sunlight. stirring from her sleep, she opened her eyes slowly as a fresh breeze met her face, strands of her brown hair falling into her vision. she soaked in the rays for a few minutes, before gradually shifting herself out of her sleeping bag, shivering as her skin met the crisp air. willa pulled a jacket on, before curling her fingers and twisting her hand; a small flame sculpted itself into existence, hovering next to her with a satisfying glow. pleased, willa stuck her hands in front of it for a moment, warming her numb fingers, before reaching to put on her boots. something rustled nearby; glancing up from her laces, willa instantly recognized the silhouette of a deer, frozen in the middle of a beam of sun. the deer had also spotted her, as though it stared at her for a few seconds, it quickly moved on, galloping away into the shadows of the forest. smiling to herself, willa continued tying her boots, the sight of the deer lifting her spirits. however, her happiness quickly faded; the sound of voices coming from the centre of the camp brought her back to her reality. she sighed.

willa was going to be honest.
sometimes, she wished she had been born a mortal. however much her life had improved since discovering herself, every now and then she wondered, if given the choice, if she would trade her life for another. yeah, she had cool powers, but she had also spent nearly eighteen years of her life hidden away in a house, kept secret by her mortal mother, her powers suppressed, their full potential unknown and never intended to be found out. if her stepfather hadn't eventually discovered her existence and taken her to the demi-god camp, who knew where she would be now; still stuck in that house at twenty-two, her powers restrained and being forced to stay silent about her identity? there were a million different ways her life could turn, and yet none were easier than the life willa could imagine where she was mortal. even when at the camp, where she was surrounded by her people, a part of her still secretly yearned for an normal life; or what would be considered normal in the mortal world. no godly parent, no powers, no pressure; just ordinary things, like... going to the movies with some friends, or giggling over the cute barista at the local coffee shop. however close she may have been to those things, they almost seemed to be part of a different world now.
but to willa's disappointment, she wasn't mortal; she was a demi-god. how could she forget it? it wasn't like she was on the run with the other demi-gods, after their camp had been attacked by monsters. oh wait, she was. willa laughed to herself, but there was no humour in it. no, however much she desired it, she was nothing like a mortal. she sighed again, waving her hand, the fire beside her extinguishing.

mortals had it easy - life was laid out for them, with their jobs and their relationships and their hobbies... jeez, when was the last time she had a hobby? other than playing music, of course, as that was just a natural state of life due to her being born to the god of music. no, she couldn't even remember the last time she had indulged in something unrelated to her status. being a demi-god, willa never actually seemed to know what was happening next in her life, until it was right in front of her. sometimes it was fun, but at other times...

what was in front of her now was the camp - and, more importantly, the rest of the demi-gods. the group had been on the run for several weeks now, and willa finally felt like the group was beginning to come together more. things may have been a little rough at the start of their journey, and sure, some of them still didn't get along, but overall there hadn't been too much drama. or perhaps it was just her thinking that. she did tend to see the positive in everything; maybe things were worse than she thought. whatever the situation was, willa would try her best to be the peacekeeper. if they were to successfully survive, the group was definitely going to have to be able to work together. even if there was tension, she knew (or at least hoped) the others would put it away for the sake of their common goal.

though the morning sun had helped energized her after the rough night of sleep, her emotions still felt like a tangled, confusing mess. in times when she felt down, she always yearned for the company of her stepfather; he may have been mortal, but he seemed to be able to understand her more than anyone in the godly realm did. sure, she had friends, but willa was scared to share her inner thoughts with them, in case she was outcasted. what would they think of her wishes? what demi-god desired a mortal life? willa shook her head with an irritated huff. they would call her crazy.

her true father... though they weren't the closest, willa would even be comforted by apollo's presence at this point. they weren't exactly distant, but it was hard for him to find time for her, as he was usually busy taking care of the many things he was in charge of. she enjoyed when he visited the camp, as she was always interested in what he had been up to, but though she knew he had a job to do, inside, willa still felt slightly bitter towards him. it was stupid, she knew; the others didn't get to see their parents much either. but her stepfather's rare visits were justified; he was a mortal who had a life separate to hers. apollo, though an all-powerful god, still managed to see her less than someone not even biologically related to her; not to mention the fact that he left her with her mother for all those years and did nothing about it. trying not to let herself get too worked up, willa breathed in and out slowly, calming her rising temper. it was too early in the day to already be angry.

spotting her flute sticking out of her bag, willa took it as she stood, her internal thoughts urging to be expressed. out of everything she had been able to grab before being evacuated from the camp, willa was extremely glad she had managed to find the flute before she had had to leave. while talking to some of the others did help, music was the only thing that truly kept her sane; every night, she played a few tunes to herself before she slept, trying to keep herself in a good mood in order to actually get some rest. sleeping wasn't easy in general for her, and being on the road definitely didn't help, so winding down each day with a flute session was important to her. some of the others seemed to enjoy her music too, so she happily played to them if they requested it. and though she was modest about her skill, willa had to admit that she did enjoy the compliments she received.

finally feeling ready to take on the day, she pocketed the flute and turned to observe the camp. it seemed like she had woken later than the rest of the group; most were already up and about, chatting or finishing up breakfast. ashamed she had let herself sleep in so late, willa hastily tidied her belongings before making her way over to the cooking area. at this point, the others were doing their own things around the camp; focusing on the food, she grabbed a bowl and tucked into the remaining eggs eagerly, the last of her morning weariness fading as she filled herself up. as she ate, she couldn't help overhearing myles and olympia's conversation; at the mention of his lyre, willa smiled to herself. it was one of the things that made myles and her such close friends; the two both had a love for music, and she enjoyed playing with him when they got the chance.
willa quickly finished off her breakfast and stood, making her way over to where the rest of the group had gathered. "i agree! let's get going while the day's ahead of us," she called cheerily, striding up to stand next to myles. while the group had time to process, she nudged her friend next to her, lowering her voice.

"did i hear you right, myles? you're gonna perform for us?" willa asked brightly. "we could make it a duet, if you want." she pulled her flute out of her pocket, waving it at the other. "it's due to be oiled, but it should still sound alright. oh! and the eggs were delicious, by the way." she grinned at him cheekily. despite her earlier thoughts, willa was extremely glad to have friends during this time; people like myles helped keep everyone together, and she was sure without him and a couple of the others, the group would have fallen apart by now. each of them had their own strengths to help with the journey, but it took the right personalities to make sure they all got along; willa looked back at the other demi-gods, her spirits hopeful. none of them had all the answers right now, but if they stuck together, she knew they would be able to make it through this; whatever it was.
