"some dinner thing with my family, you know how it is my parents cut me off i haven't seen any of them in two years," she said with a shrug wiping a tear that had lightly fallen she didn't miss her parents just her siblings she wasn't able to see as her parents prevented them from that. she shook her head embarrassed she hated crying it felt to her like such a weakness. "either way, i was just looking at some old photos to remind myself this wasn't my fault," she said with a gentle smile. she got up and looked at amira and then around. "shall we head back down to the gala the beauties are probably awaiting upon our arrival," she said with a giggle.
she didn't need anyone to be over the top concerned or anything really the only reason she was emotional was that she never brought it to light often how messy and complicated they were. when her phone buzzed just as she was about to put it in her pocket she gave a light laugh almost annoyed at how this could be happening it was her mom. instead of giving her the satisfaction of answering she quickly swiped the decline option looking back up. "my mom for a fake apology, it's entertaining at this point," she said with a chuckle. "i'll get some long text about how i should come to see them for a day or two, just you wait," she said rolling her eyes hiding her anger that was boiling in her words extremely well, for once. "but on a real note, let's make this fun ey? we have nothing else to do but not have fun i'd die if this went to failure to," she said quite dramatically. she walked towards her door giving amira a playful nudge. she didn't like just being a giant sob story all the time she wanted to have fun. it was more fun to her than just thinking all the time.
she had heard chatter louder than before downstairs. she could hear people loudly calling and embracing each other. "who all arrived?" she said her ears trying to process the noises. she could hear something about julian so she'd gotten that. fashionably late which wasn't too surprising but she couldn't make out the rest of the greetings. she wanted to ensure she wouldn't walk down like an idiot and act as she'd never seen these people in her entire life because she did that a lot then realized who people were and that they weren't strangers and felt stupid.
